The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual condition of the daily living activities of the elderly with dementia in recuperating facilities. The thorough investigation and observation works were made to them from the view points of daily living behaviors and behavioral places of the recuperating elderly. This article discusses about the basic characteristics of the elderly and the actual condition of the daily living activities of the elderly with dementia in recuperating facilities for the aged with dementia. The results of this study are summarized as follows; There is no wide difference between geriatric hospital and nursing home for the aged with dementia on the characteristic of living behaviors of the elderly with dementia. The usage of behavioral places in recuperating facilities are influenced by the physical environments and the basic characteristics of the elderly with dementia.

In order to use for artificial dental tooth (dental crowens) , new glass-ceramics material has been studied. Its basic composition and the condition of heat treatment for crystalization, mechanical and chemical properties were investigated. Adding of the LAS system composition in the basic glass, time and temperature for crystalization were shortened. Fracture toughness (kic)of samples heat treated at 90$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours is 2.5-2.6MN/m3/2, the optimum condition of heat treatment for artificial tooth is A and B samples heating to 75$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours, raising to 90$0^{\circ}C$ and maintaining at 90$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours and C sample heating to 75$0^{\circ}C$ maintaining at 75$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. In acid and'alkali solution, chemical durability is excellent.

Appropriate design/manufacturing conditions, to give outstanding material properties to the $Si_3$$N_4$-BN and AIN-BN based composite materials, will be investigated using the experimental design methods. Ultra-precision machinability of the developed ceramics will be systematically studied in the viewpoint of microstructure and material properties. Also, finite element methods will be applied to define basic principles to significantly improve machinability and various properties. Basic experiments will be performed to develop optimum ultra-precision machining technologies for the developed ceramics. For ultra-precision lapping machining, need to develop a ultra-precision lapping system, suitable metal bonded diamond wheel, and appropriate condition of ultra-precision lapping machining.

This study was carried out to obtain basic information for optimum storage method of leaf, stem and root of Angelica acutiloba Radix, which is being utilized as major cultivated herbal medicine materials, root of Angelica acutiloba was stored for 3 months in different packing materials and sealing methods, such as punched packing, sealing and vacuum packing. The results are summarized as follows. The loss in weight as influenced by packing materials and sealing degree was the lowest at vacuum packing and complete sealing condition with transparent polyethylene film. The ratio of root rot during the storage period was not significantly different between polyethylene films, but it was significantly different between sealing conditions. Therefore, vacuum packing and complete sealing with polyethylene film are desirable storage condition for Angelica acutiloba Radix.

Palladium(II)-catalyzed carboxylation of chiral olefins 6a-d has been examined under various conditions. In the weak basic condition ($K_{2}CO_3$), 7a-d were obtained in good yields. Alternatively, in the strong basic condition, pyrrolidinones 8a-d were obtained resulting in excellent yields and with high diastereoselectivity.

This study was carried out a investigate the effect of chemical cleaning of corrosion product in cooling system made of copper and copper alloy as basic material and used cooling water as pure water. We studied chemical cleaning condition that minimizes the influence on basic material by means of EDTA solution so as to eliminate the slurry in cooling system. As a result, we found that the main components of sludge in cooling system produced by corrosion of copper were $Cu_2O$, CuO, Cu, and Fe. The optimum condition of chemical cleaning was 400 ppm EDTA solution at $60^{\circ}C$.

The purpose of this study is to suggest objective basic data for park management proposal through the quantitative analysis of users' needs and satisfaction for the actual conditions of management in Moaksand provincial park. For this, users' needs and satisfaction for facilities have been analyzed. And user's satisfaction for the actual conditions of management had been analyzed by using the multiple regression. Users want more toilets and sign boards and to replace damaged facilities. Users gave thought to trail and had high pressure to improvement, and many users were uncomfortable by crowding, and had a positive view to restrict use of intensity. Systematic careful concern about trail and rest area should be need and periodic observation to change of facility condition also. According to the multiple regression analysis, the major variable to the satisfaction for the actual condition of facilities management was trail ground condition.

Oxidized-polyacrylonitrile (oxy-PAN) was prepared by oxidation of PAN fiber at $240^{\circ}C$, followed by base catalyzed hydrolysis reaction. The chemical structure of PAN fiber in various pH conditions was characterized by $^{13}C-NMR$ spectroscopy. The characteristic contraction and expansion behavior of oxy -PAN fiber was observed in acidic and basic medium, respectively. In basic condition, water molecules might be absorbed into the fiber with the movement of charge balancing $Na^+$ ion, on the other hand, the water molecules seemed to be expelled in acidic condition to result in contraction. It was also observed that the facile chemical modification occurred due to free diffusion of aqueous reagent into the hydrophilic PAN fiber, and the morphology was affected by pH condition.

In this study, we try to understand the present condition of elderly housing facilities in Contra Costa County, California, USA. We got the basic information of 92 facilities through the interview with the chief of elderly housing department in Contra Costa County, California. In practical way of research, this study bears various components of the elderly housing facilities, which are type of facility, financial aids, type of apartment, and provided living services. The short summerising of researches are; The present conditions of elderly housing facilities can be classified as Independent Living(53), Congregate Housing(23), Assisted Living(33), Dementia Care(12). The financial aid conditions are shown like SSI, HA, HUD. The types of apartment are studio type, 1 bedroom type, 2 bedroom type. These facilities provides meals, housekeeping, transportation, small pets. As a result of studying the present condition of elderly housing facilities in Contra Costa County, we propose the basic statistical report on the most general type of housing, financial aids, type of services that people of the states want to get.
