In the reconstruction of the hard tissue defect of the oral cavity, the usefulness of the chin bone graft, one of the intraoral donor site, is gradually increased. The advantages include reduced resorption rate after graft due to its membranous bone nature, relatively ease to harvest under local anesthesia, reduced operative time because of the same operative field, decreased morbidity, and relatively large amount of bone can be harvested compared to other intraoral donor site. It has also postoperative complications including paresthesia of the lip or chin area, discomfort of lower anterior teeth, and facial swelling around chin area. Of these complications, facial swelling occurs more frequently, is more severe as a early postoperative discomfort, and prevents fast recover of patient's social activity since this procedure is generally accomplished in the outpatient base under local anesthesia. So we applied a modified " gull-wing" type incision to minimize this complication, and now we report this simple but effective surgical technique with clinically favorable result.
Morphological features of the vomeronasal organ of both Korean native cattle and Korean native goat were studied by gross, microscopic and histochemical examinations. Anatomical characteristics of the vomeronasl organ were similar in both Korean native cattle and Korean native goats. The vomeronasal organ is a tubular structure situated bilaterally at the base of the nasal septum, and enclosed by hyaline cartilage. Its lumen is semilunar to crescent in transverse sections. It join with the incisive duct through narrow duct. The lumen of the vomeronasal organ is lined with sensory and respiratory epithelia. The distribution pattern of vomeronasal mucosal epithelia varied by the position. In the anterior portion joining with nasal cavity, the lumen is lined with only respiratory epitheliu. In the middle portion, sensory epithelium appeared on the medial side, and respiratory epithelium on the lateral side. In the posterior, it is lined with sensory epithelium on the ventral side and lined with respiratory epithelium on the dorsal side. The vomeronasal gland composed of mucous and serous acini are distributed in the lamina propria under the respiratory epithelium, where venous sinuses are also well developed.

The injection molding is a traditional manufacturing method that can make plastic parts by just one time in mold. Therefore, the injection molding has become one of a manufacturing method, which is widely applied in a producing of plastic products. Nowadays, to use of plastic parts has increased and plastic product-model using term has been shorten. By these reasons, using term of a injection mold has fast been reduced. These produced molds will be disused and leaved in a storage after a regular term to use it. These leaved molds are sometime sold as scrap iron. But, these molds have lots parts for recycling except special parts for example, cavities, cores and eject pins, etc. In this research, we investigated when the cavity and core of in injection mold would be changed, the injection mold could be recycled. We suggested the structures and standardizations for recycling of a moldbase. We also developed a program in which can be used when the recycling moldbase design in the Auto-CAD with the recycling standards. We called this program as the Recy-Mold. For the availability of the program and moldbase structure fur the recycling standards, we experimented a used mold for automobile lens, which was remanufactured by the recycling standard. The results of this test showed feasibility for the recycling mold.

In this paper, in order to get micro or nano size optical patterns, an analytical and experimental investigation on a LGP (light guide plate) injection molding process has performed. The LGP, which diffusing and emitting the light from the CCFL or the LEDs to the panel front direction uniformly, typically has an under 1mm thick base substrate and numerous 60 to $170{\mu}m$ width and 6 to $10{\mu}m$ thick dot patterns on it. Generally, the small size LGPs, for mobile devices, have been and are being made of PMMA through the injection molding process. However, the substrate thickness and the dot pattern size are decreasing, it becomes hard to fill the micro to sub-micro cavities completely. To investigate the flow behavior of resin in micro/nano cavities and identify the characteristics of the LGP injection molding process, we carried out the flow analyses with respect to the variations of the substrate thickness, the dot pattern size and the pitch of a cavity.
A simple process of fabricating micropillar structure and its influence upon enhancing electrochemical biosensor response were studied in this work. Conducting polymer PEDOT was used as a base material in formulating a composite with PVA. Micro porous PC membrane filter was used as a template for the micropillar of the composite on ITO electrode. This structure could provide plenty of encapsulating space for enzyme species. After dosing enzyme solution into this space, Nafion film tent was cast over the pillar structure to complete the micropillar cavity structure. In this way, the encapsulation of enzyme could be accomplished without any chemical modification. The amount of enzyme species was easily controllable by varying the concentration of the dosing solution. The more amount of enzyme is stored in the sensor, the higher the electrochemical response is produced. One more reason for the sensitivity improvement comes from the large surface area of the micropillar structure. Application of 0.7 V produced the best current response under the condition of pH 7.4. This biosensor showed linear response to the glucose in 0.1~1 mM range with the average sensitivity of $14.06{\mu}A/mMcm^2$. Detection limit was 0.01 mM based on S/N = 3.

This paper proposed an efficient manufacturing system using the OMM (on-machine measurement) system. The OMM system is software-based 3D modeler for inspection on machine, and it is interfaced with machine tools via RS232C. The software is composed of two inspection modules; one is touch probe operating module, and the other is laser displacement sensor operating module. The module for touch probe needs the inspection feature extracted from CAD data. The touch probe moves to workpiece by three operating modes as follows: manual, general and automatic mode. The operating module of the laser displacement sensor is used to inspect profiles and very small holes. An advantage of this inspection method is the ability to execute on-line inspection during machining or afterward. The efficiency of proposed system which can predict and define the machining errors of each process was verified, so the developed system was applied to inspect a mold-base (cavity, core).
The CT findings of 46 cases of nasopharyngeal cancer were analyzed and compared with clinical tumor staging. They are composed of 28 cases $(61\%)$ of squamous cell carcinoma, 13cases $(28\%)$ of undifferentiated carcinoma, 4 cases $(9\%)$of lymphoma and 1 case $(2\%)$ of adenoid cystic carcinoma. The results were as follows : 1. The most common CT findings of nasopharyngeal cancers are air·way asymmetry including obliteration of Rosenmuller fossa, orifice of Eustachian tube and asymmetric obliteration of parapharyngeal fat. 2. Other involved anatomic sites are carotid sheath area, oropharynx, paranasal sinuses especially sphenoid sinus, cervical lymph nodes, nasal cavity and skull base or middle cranial fossa. 3. CT does significantly influence on the tumor staging of the nasopharynx cancers, but has a definite value in evaluating deep tissue invasion of the cancers especially to parapharyngeal space or carotid sheath area. 4. CT seems to be essential for staging work-up, estimating the prognosis, and assessing the effect of radiotherapy of the nasopharyngeal cancer because it clearly shows the whole extent of the tumors including deep tissue invasion.

Polymeric electrodes for lead ion based on N,N'-bis-thiophen-2-ylmethylene-pyridine-2,6-diamine as an ion carrier were prepared. The membrane electrode (m-3) containing o-NPOE as a plasticizer and 50 mol% additive of ionophore gives an excellent Nernstian response (29.59 mV/decade) and the limit of detection of ?log a (M) = 5.74 to Pb2+ in Pb(NO3)2 solution at room temperature. The prepared electrode provided good sensitivity and outstanding selectivity and response for Pb2+ over a wide variety of other metal ions in pH 7.0 buffer solutions. The good sensitivity and selectivity towards lead ion are attributed to the strong complexation of lead ion to N,N'-bis-thiophen-2-ylmethylene-pyridine-2,6-diamine which has geometrically the proper cavity to coordinate to the ligand.
The purpose of this study was to develop game style courseware in oral health instruction for elementary school children. The manufacturing equipment and languages which were used to develop the courseware were: Photoshop version 7.0, Illustrator version 10.0, HTML, Dream Weaver MX, Editplus, CSS and Java - script. The data base was built up by using PHP and mySQL over Internet Explorer version 4.0. The contents of courseware for oral health education were based on the list of oral health affaires of the Department of Health and Welfare, 2002. The story of the game ‘Saving Hayani locked down in a castle of a cavity man’ was developed for the learners to learn oral health by inducing learning motivation. A character named ‘Chan i’ was introduced to the learners to be more friendly with the program while they were learning. As the game was made of three step education levels, the learner most pass the prepared test given at each step to advance to a higher level. A database connected to web was constructed to store the scores the learners earned at each step. In conclusion, the courseware will help the elementary school children learn oral health care efficiently through the internet regardless of time and space.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the pulpal responses of dental adhesive resins. A total of 40 cavities of the permanent healthy teeth from 4 dogs were prepared. In the experimental group, the cavities were etched for 1 minute with citric acid and filled with experimental resins (ie. Super-Bond C & B$^{(R)}$). In the control group, the cavities were filled with calcium hydroxide base materials (ie. Dycal$^{(R)}$) without etching. The dogs were sacrificed at one, two, three and four weeks after the time of filling and the specimens were routinely prepared and stained with Hematoxylin-Eosin. The microscopic findings were as follows: Infiltration of inflammatory cells was not observed in both experimental and control groups. Change in the odontoblastic layer was not observed in all control groups but severe swelling was observed in deep dental pulp tissue of the control two and three week cases. Pulp tissue was recovered with plenty of fibrous component in the control four week case and reparative dentin formation was not occurred in all cases. Slight changes of the odontoblastic layer beneath the cavity were observed in the experimental one week case. In experimental two and three week cases, swelling of deep pulp tissue was increased and localized reparative dentin formation was observed. In the experimental four week case, odontoblastic layer was recovered with regular appearance and fibrous component of the pulp was increased, but reparative dentin formation was not evident.
