A numerical analysis has been performed to give an understanding of the physics of a compressible base flow with mass bleed in a Mach 2.47 freestream. Axisymmetric, compressible mass-averaged Navier-Stokes equations are computed using a two-equation turbulence model, standard ${\kappa}-{\omega}$, and a fully implicit finite volume scheme. The mass bleed is characterized by the change in the mass flow rate of the bleed jet non-dimensionalized by the product of the base area and freestream mass flux. The result showing that there is an optimum bleed condition with maximum base pressure, leading to a minimum base drag, is clearly predicted and the validation with experimental data shows reasonable agreement.
(+)-$Tr{\ddot{o}}ger$'s base in $Tr{\ddot{o}}ger$'s base racemates that inhibits thromboxane A2($T{\times}A2$) synthase has been used to treat arteriosclerosis. Separation of (+)-$Tr{\ddot{o}}ger$'s base by chromatography has become a major concern. However separation experiments of (+)-$Tr{\ddot{o}}ger$'s base need time and consumables so that simulation with Aspen Chromatography could save time and costs by predicting the efficiency of separation. Injection amount and eluent flow rate were varied to compare the resolutions and yields of TB(-) and TB(+). Highest resolution and yield were attained at the eluent rate of 0.25 mL/min. Isotherms representing the relationship between mobile phase concentration and stationary phase concentration were changed to get the best separation with Ideal Adsorbed Solution(IAS) Statistical Lanmuir isotherms.

The use of autopolymerizing-cured resin and light-cured resin for direct relining of complete and partial dentures has been popular. This investigation compared the adhesion of autopolymerizing-cured reline resin(Tokuso Rebase, Mild Rebaron) or light-cured reline resin(Mild Rebaron LC, Lighton-U) to metal base or resin base. Cylindrical samples were made from metal($Biosil^{(R)}$) or heat-cured resin(QC-20) and were prepared to produce a flat bonding surface. Cylindrical metal samples were roughened by scratch or by scratch and sandblast and were treated with primer(MR Bond) after scratch and sandblast. And then, liners were prossesed to the cylindrical metal or resin samples according to the manufacturer's recommendations so as to bond metal base or resin base. The specimens were tested in pure tension by using an Instron Univesal testing machine for the four direct reline resins. The results were as follows ; 1. In comparison with tensile bond strength of material relined on resin base or metal base, the case of resin base produced significantly higher tensile bond strength than the case of metal base. 2. Metal surface pretreatment or primer improved the tensile bond strength between the reline resin and the metal($Biosil^{(R)}$) base. 3. The tensile bond strength of Mild Rebaron LC relined on resin base or metal base were similar to those of the other reline resins.

The present study investigates the soil-structure interaction (SSI) effects on the seismic performance of smart base-isolated structures. The adopted control algorithm for tuning the control force plays a key role in successful implementation of such structures; however, in most studied carried out in the literature, these algorithms are designed without considering the SSI effect. Considering the SSI effects, a linear quadratic regulator (LQR) controller is employed to seismic control of a smart base-isolated structure. A particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to tune the gain matrix of the controller in both cases without and with SSI effects. In order to conduct a parametric study, three types of soil, three well-known earthquakes and a vast range of period of the superstructure are considered for assessment the SSI effects on seismic control process of the smart-base isolated structure. The adopted controller is able to make a significant reduction in base displacement. However, any attempt to decrease the maximum base displacement results in slight increasing in superstructure accelerations. The maximum and RMS base displacements of the smart base-isolated structures in the case of considering SSI effects are more than the corresponding responses in the case of ignoring SSI effects. Overall, it is also observed that the maximum and RMS base displacements of the structure are increased by increasing the natural period of the superstructure. Furthermore, it can be concluded that the maximum and RMS superstructure accelerations are significant influenced by the frequency content of earthquake excitations and the natural frequency of the superstructure. The results show that the design of the controller is very influenced by the SSI effects. In addition, the simulation results demonstrate that the ignoring the SSI effect provides an unfavorable control system, which may lead to decline in the seismic performance of the smart-base isolated structure including the SSI effects.
This paper aims to examine the base inflectional forms of Korean old vernacular letters, and explain why it appears with frequency. In the korean old vernacular letters, the suffix 'ha-' and ending of the 'Base+ha-' adjective derivation are not appear with extraordinary frequency. I called it the base inflectional forms. I consider it in function and morphological constructions and also the syntactic constructions. Whenever Joseon-era people wrote a letter with a time limit, they have need to diminish their exertion to use of the brush. Therefore the base inflectional forms appear with extraordinary frequency in comparison with other papers. In the 'X ha-' word formation of Korean old vernacular letters, 'ha-' is formal morpheme without substantial meaning. So 'X' is left and 'ha-' and ending can be omitted resolutely. The base inflectional forms are occurred to voluntary language performance for a particular intention. but it is not appear in all conditions. In some circumstances, it appear. I checked out the constructions on base inflectional forms. In the 'X ha-' word formation, 'X' is predicative base without fail. and the ending which take part in base inflectional forms has a grammatical function unadulteratedly.
The purpose of this study was to estimate the changes of marginal adaptation to the cavity floor of light-cured glass ionomer cement base after application of a composite restoration. Eighty non-carious extracted human molars were used in the present study. Circular cavities were prepared on the center of the exposed dentin surface to 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm in depth and the prepared cavities were pretreated with Dentin conditioner and filled with Fuji II LC(GC Int. Co., Japan). They randomly assigned into 3 groups according to the difference in application of a composite restoration; Group 1(control group): only glass ionomer base, Group 2: The application of a composite restoration surrounded by dentin with class I cavity over glass ionomer base after conventional dentin bonding to the exposed dentin and glass ionomer base, Group 3: The application of composite restoration not-surrounded by dentin over glass ionomer base after conventional dentin bonding to the exposed dentin and glass ionomer base. To examine the interface between cavity floor and light-cured glass ionomer cement base, each groups were sectioned vertically through the center of restorations with diamond saw and the gap size(${\mu}m$) of interface measured by SEM. The results were analyzed by using One Way ANOVA. The results were as follows: 1. Good adaptation between glass ionomer cement base and cavity floor was showed in specimens with 0.5mm, 1.0mm depth base of control group. But in specimens with 1.5mm, 2.0mm depth base of control group, the gap was measured about $15{\mu}m$, $40{\mu}m$ respectively. 2. Gap size in group 2 was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.05). 3. Gap size in group 3 was significantly higher than that in control group and group 2(P<0.05). 4. It was possible to observe the good adaptation between glass ionomer cement base and dentin which was intermediated with 4-10${\mu}m$ hybrid layer in specimens with 0.5mm, 1.0mm depth base of control group. Cohesive fracture within cement base was observed in all specimens which had the gap between glass ionomer cement base & dentin. 5. It was possible to observe the gap formation between cement base and bonding agent and between composite resin and dentin in all specimens of group 2.
Static load tests were performed for open-ended piles, closed-ended piles, piles with grouted toe, and base-grouted piles by using calibration chamber. Then vertical bearing capacities determined from load tests were compared with each other. The stability of base-grouted pile during a simulated seaquake was investigated by changing the penetration depth. Also, static load tests and seaquake tests for 2-piles and 4-piles group were performed. The bearing capacity of the pile grouted inside the toe was 11.2~30.8% less than that of open-ended pile because of reduction of base resistance due to disturbance of base soil under pile toe. The bearing capacity of a base-grouted pile was 23.8~33.9% more than that of an open-ended pile and was similar to that of a closed-ended pile. The bearing capacity of base-grouted group pile was increased ; the bearing capacity of base-grouted 2-piles group increased 14.6~31.8% compared to that of open-ended 2-piles group, and that of base-grouted 4-piles group increased 15.3~22.4% compared to that of open-ended 4-piles group. During the simulated seaquake in deep sea, stability of base-grouted pile was found to be dependent on the pile penetration depth. During seaquake motion, single long base-grouted pile longer than 20m was stable and short base-grouted pile shorter than 12m failed. But relatively long base-grouted pile longer than 12m kept mobility state. Bearing capacity of base-grouted group pile with penetration depth less than 7m was degraded a little bit ; so, base-grouted group pile could maintain mobility condition.
In this study, we investigate the term-sets of 'base' or 'bottom': 'the bottom side of a polygon' and 'the base side (of a geometrical figure)'. And we study the concept of 'the base area' in the solid figures and the formula of 'the bottom dimensions'. We start from the 6th grade math problem: 'Find the bottom dimension of the rectangular.' The primary answer is that it does not use the term('the bottom dimensions') in the elementary mathematics. However, in the middle school mathematics, 'the base area' is used as means of 'the area of one bottom side', which is not explained anywhere from the elementary mathematics to middle school mathematics. In addition, the base is defined and 'the surface area' and 'the side area' is taught in the elementary mathematics, so we naturally think of 'the base area'. Therefore we first investigate the term-sets of 'base' or 'bottom' which has two elements: 'the bottom side of a polygon' and 'the base side (of a geometrical figure)'. Next we discuss 'the base area' through curriculum and textbooks, dictionary definitions and so on. In addition, we survey pre-service teachers and teachers about the solid figures and analyse the understanding of 'the base side' and 'the base area' comparatively. In particular, we compare the changes and the tendency of correct answers from the first question to the last question. As a result, we verify 'the cognitive gap' between the elementary mathematics and the middle school mathematics, we suggest the teaching of 'the base area' and succession subjects to teach figure domain in the elementary mathematics.
The purpose of this paper is to propose a simple analysis method of axial deformation of base-isolation rubber bearings in a building subjected to earthquake loading and present its applicability to the analysis of the bound of the aspect ratio of base-isolated buildings. The base shear coefficient is introduced as a key parameter for the bound analysis. The bound of the aspect ratio of base-isolated buildings is analyzed based on the relationship of the following four quantities; (i) ultimate state of the tensile stress of rubber bearings based on a proposed simple recursive analysis for seismic loading, (ii) ultimate state of drift of the base-isolation story for seismic loading, (iii) ultimate state of the axial compressive stress of rubber bearings under dead loads, (iv) prediction of the overturning moment at the base for seismic loading. In particular, a new recursive analysis method of axial deformation of rubber bearings is presented taking into account the nonlinear tensile behavior of rubber bearings and it is shown that the relaxation of the constraint on the ultimate state of the tensile stress of rubber bearings increases the limiting aspect ratio.
