Parking Control for a Container Trailer Truck Using Fuzzy Theory (퍼지이론을 이용한 컨테이너 트레일러ㆍ트럭의 주차제어)

  • A trailer truck is a major equipment for transporting containers, and its driving is difficult due to two degrees of freedom which exist in the joint part between truck and trailer. Especially Backing a trailer truck to a parking home is a difficult exercise for all but the most skilled truck drivers. Normal driving instincts lead to erroneous movements. When watching a truck driver backing toward a parking home, one often observes the driver backing, going forward, backing again, going forward, etc., and finally backing to the desired position along the parking home. This paper discusses the design of the controller to control the steering of a trailer truck while only backing up to a parking home from an initial position. In this paper, we propose a backing up control system for a container trailer truck using fuzzy theory where the primitive fuzzy control rules are macroscopically designed using an expert's knowledge, and the control rules are regulated by LIBL(Linguistic Instruction Based Learning) to enable to back up successfully the trailer tuck to a parking home from arbitrary initial position. The validity of the proposed parking control system is shown by applying it to some initial positions on the simulator for container trailer truck.

  • 터보분자펌프(turbo-molecular pump: TMP)는 고진공펌프 중의 하나로, 반도체/디스플레이 등 첨단 공정에서 진공 환경을 조성하는 핵심장비이다. 터보분자펌프(TMP)의 특성평가는 세계 여러 나라의 표준제정기구에서 제정한 국제규격에 그 기반을 두어, 한국표준과학연구원 진공기술 센터에서는 터보분자펌프(TMP) 특성평가시스템을 자체 설계/제작하여 그 신뢰성을 확인하기 위해 개발품 및 상용품 평가에 주력하고 있다. 터보분자펌프(TMP)는 보조펌프(backing pump)의 지원을 받으므로 보조펌프(backing pump) 용량에 따른 터보분자펌프(TMP)의 배기속도를 측정하고자 한다. 국제규격에서 제시하는 보조펌프 (backing pump)의 용량이 일정이상 작을 경우, 터보분자펌프(TMP)의 배기속도 및 압축비에 대해 감소함을 제시한다. 이 영향은 전체 압력 범위에서 보조펌프(backing pump)의 배기속도가 일정 용량 이상이면 터보분자펌프(TMP)의 배기속도에 영향이 없음을 제시하며, 이에 본 연구에서는 국제규격에서 제시하는 보조펌프(backing pump) 용량에 대해 서로 다른 조건에 맞추어 터보분자 펌프(TMP)의 배기속도에 미치는 영향을 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 100m3/h, 10m3/h 의 서로 다른 배기속도를 가진 보조펌프(backing pump)를 선정하여 분자량이 다른 가스(N2, He, Ar 등)에 대한 압축비의 변화와 배기속도 측정에 관해 상관 관계를 제시하며, 100m3/h, 10m3/h 의 서로 다른 배기속도를 가진 보조펌프(backing pump)에 따른 터보분자펌프(TMP)의 배기속도 및 운전성능을 제시하고자 한다.

  • Automotive sub-mat carpet for convenience and comfort of floor administration is additional supplemented floor mat. Sub Mat Backing of the current vehicle's materials reclaimed rubber, PVC, etc. are used, but secondary rubber and PVC Backing have bad sound absorption. Also rubber is heavy too. Contact surfaces between PET staple fiber, PET non-woven, PVC backing and car's floor carpet was measured the coefficient of friction for each sub-mat's non-slip evaluation. A surface of PET non-woven sub-mat has the highest coefficient of friction. Each of sample was observed by optical microscope the contact surfaces before and after. Contact surfaces of PET staple fiber sub-mat was changed increasingly to non-woven. This fact is shown that the sub-mat would be tangled between its contact surface and top of the floor carpet. It is expected to be highly non-slip. In case of PET non-woven sub-mat had not different for contact surfaces between before and after. And PVC backing was shown lower non-slip than other samples. The result of optical microscope and coefficient of friction is seems to be related.

  • There has been increasing global interest in the environmental pollution problems produced by fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. In order to tackle these issues, new renewable energy such as solar, wind, bio gas, fuel cell and pressure retarded osmosis(PRO) have been developed extensively. Among these energy sources, PRO is one of the salinity gradient power generation methods. In PRO, energy is obtained by the osmotic pressure generated from the concentration difference between high and low concentration solutions separated by a semipermeable membrane. The development for high power density PRO membranes is imperative with the purpose of commercialization. This study investigates development of thin film composite PRO membrane and spiral wound module for high power density. Also, the influence of membrane backing layer on power density was identified, and the characteristic factors of PRO membranes was determined. Different backing layers were used to improve power density. As expected, the PRO membrane with more porous backing layer showed higher power density.

  • In a PEM fuel cell electrode, backing layer has tremendous impact on electrode performance. The backing layer provides structural support for the porous electrode, distributes the reactants to the other layers and acts as a current collector. It has major influence on the water management in a PEM fuel cell. Selection of suitable backing layer material for the fabrication of electrode is thus very important to achieve high performance. In this paper we have compared the performance of PEM fuel cell electrodes fabricated using carbon paper EC-TPI-060T, carbon cloth EC-CCI-060T, (ElectroChem Inc.USA) and Carbon cloth from Textron, USA (CPW 003 grade). Mass transport problem was observed under non-pressurized condition, at high current densities, in the caie of EC-CC1-060T carbon cloth electrode (at $50^{\circ}C$), due to its higher thickness. The performance of carbon paper electrode was higher than EC-CCI-060T carbon cloth electrode. The performance of Textron carbon cloth was comparable to EC-TPI -060T carbon paper.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy control scheme for backing up control of Truck-Trailer, which is nonlinear and unstable by using TSK(Takagi-Sugeno-kang) fuzzy system. The nonlinear system of Truck-Trailer was expressed by using TSK fuzzy model, and the TSK fuzzy controller was designed from TSK fuzzy model. The usefulness of the proposed algorithm for backing up truck-trailer is certificated by the computer simulations.

  • The strength of the mounting bolt of a backing plate is investigated with field test to provide the basic data in the safety evaluation of the wheeled vehicle. As a result, during the braking performance test at a vehicle speed of 32km/h, the shearing stress of mounting bolt is 20.5kg/mm$^{2}$ because the translatory mass of the vehicle is increased 21.6 per cent to incorporate the rotating-mass effect of wheels and other permanently engaged rotating parts.

  • Information society in recent times, lots of important information have been stored in information systems. In this situation, unauthorized person can obtains important information by piggy-backing and shoulder surfing in specific area of organization. Therefore, in this study, we proposed network group access control system by combining RFID and infrared-ray for blocking information leakage due to unauthorized access by internal threats and enhancing personnel security. So it can provides a more secure internal network environment.

  • Multi-layered laminate made of ceramic/composite have been developed to prevent penetration by high velocity impact. In this study, three-layered plates consisted of 1) cover layer (glass fiber reinforced polymer), 2) $Al_{2}O_{3}$, ceramic plate, and 3) backing plate (glass fiber reinforced polymer) were fabricated with various conditions and tested for their ballistic protection characteristic. The ceramic composite laminates, with thin backing plate, were completely penetrated by armor piercing projectile. The plate with inserted rubber between ceramic and backing plate showed excellent ballistic protection, though completely penetrated by the second shoot.

  • In this study, piezoelectric transducer were designed and manufactured using PZT-5A which have relatively high electromechanical coefficient. A epoxy is a good material as matching and backing layers. The envelope was reduced 60% as using matching layer and 76% as using matching and backing layer. NDT was successfully carried out for aluminum test pieces. Distance error and resolution of PZT-5A probe were improved as increasing frequency. Envelope was effectively reduced by backing layer but sensitiveness was poor.
