농촌건축물 사면 안정성 확보를 위한 블록식 옹벽의 거동분석 (Behavior Analysis of Block Type Wall Constructed for Maintaining the Slope Stability of Rural Structure)

  • Retaining walls are used to prevent excessive movement of retained soils. Typical retaining walls include gravity, reinforced concrete, reinforced earth and tie-back. However, from a practical viewpoint there are still drawbacks among these often constructed retaining walls. New types of retaining walls constructed with precast concrete blocks are proposed. This type of retaining wall is incorporates each blocks interconnected with adjacent block by connecting unit to build up a flexible retaining-wall system. This paper focus to behavior characteristics includes deformation and distribution of lateral earth pressure by loading tests and FEM analysis. For model tests, a 1/10 scale reduce models are manufactured include unevenness part, drainage hole and connecting unit and steel wire used to connect each blocks with adjacent block. To simulate the real retaining walls closely, uneven parts are interconnected each other and the construction type of blocks and wall front inclination are varied to investigate the relative displacement of individual block and the location of maximum deformation of wall as increasing surcharging. Additionally, PENTAGON3D, which solve the geotechnical and other problem, used for verifying and comparing with model tests.

금산사미륵전 외벽화 보존처리된 벽체의 분석 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Outside Mural Paintings treated in Maitreya Hall of Geumsan-sa Buddhist Temple, Korea)

  • 1993년에 해체 및 보존 처리된 금산사미륵전 벽화는 현재 박락과 균열, 박리와 같은 심각한 손상이 진행된 것으로 조사되었다. 금번 분석조사는 향후 진행될 금산사 미륵전 벽화 보존처리를 위하여 과거에 처리된 벽체의 재료적 특성을 파악하기위해 진행되었다. 손상이 가장 심한 남측 벽의 벽체를 대상으로 하였으며 시료는 남측 2층 외벽의 불벽과 포벽화의 마감벽, 중벽, 배면 보강부의에서 박락된 벽체시료를 채취하여 미세구조와 화학성분, 결정상, 그리고 입도분포를 중심으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 불벽과 포벽의 마감벽은 유사한 풍화토를 사용하였고 중벽 또한 유사한 모래와 풍화토를 사용하였으며 비교적 균일한 크기와 모양의 광물 입자들의 집합체로 구성되어 있으나, 과거 보존처리 과정에서 벽체의 보강을 위해 사용한 아크릴 계열의 경화제의 영향으로 광물 입자들이 응집되어 매우 단단한 응결체 (aggregate)를 형성하고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 벽체의 배면 1차 보강층과 배면 2차 보강층은 석고($CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$)가 주 결정상인 것으로 분석되었으며, 모래와 점토광물이 소량 함유되어 있는 것으로 판단된다. 향후 보존처리는 부분적으로 경화된 벽체후면에 대한 조치와 1, 2차보강층의 제거가 우선적으로 진행되어야 한다.

유연한 벽면을 가진 사각형 물탱크의 설계지진력 산정 (Seismic Design Force for Rectangular Water Tank with Flexible Walls)

  • The equivalent static load for non-structural elements has a limitation in that the sloshing effect and the interaction between the fluid and the water tank cannot be considered. In this study, the equations to evaluate the impulse and convective components in the design codes and previous research were compared with the shaking table test results of a rectangular water tank with flexible wall panels. The conclusions of this study can be summarized as follows: (1) It was observed that the natural periods of the impulsive component according to ACI 350.3 were longer than system identification results. Thus, ACI 350.3 may underestimate the earthquake load in the case of water tanks with flexible walls. (2) In the case of water tanks with flexible walls, the side walls deform due to bending of the front and back walls. When such three-dimensional fluid-structure interaction was included, the natural period of the impulsive component became similar to the experimental results. (3) When a detailed finite element (FE) model of the water tank was unavailable, the assumption Sai = SDS could be used, resulting in a reasonably conservative design earthquake load.

인공신경망을 이용한 굴착단계별 흙막이벽체의 최대변위 예측시스템 개발 (Development of a System Predicting Maximum Displacements of Earth Retaining Walls at Various Excavation Stages Using Artificial Neural Network)

  • 본 연구에서는, 흙막이 벽체의 변위 예측시스템 개발을 위하여 다층퍼셉트론을 이용해 임의의 인공신경망 모델을 구축하고 그 성능을 평가하여 최적의 모델을 선정하였다. 인공신경망모델의 학습과 검증을 위해 국내 도심지에 실제 시공이 완료된 다양한 현장의 계측자료를 수집하였고, 수집된 계측자료의 분석을 통해 흙막이벽체의 거동에 영향을 미치는 인자를 조사하였다. 아울러 실행비를 기준으로 선별한 신뢰성 있는 계측자료를 조사된 영향인자를 토대로 데이터 베이스화하여 인공신경망 모델의 학습과 검증에 사용하였으며, 학습은 최급강하법을 기초로 하는 역전파 알고리즘을 이용하여 수행하였다. 학습에 포함되지 않은 현장들에 대하여 흙막이벽체의 최대수평변위와 그 발생위치를 예측하고 이를 계측치와 비교하여, 제시한 변위 예측시스템의 적용성을 부분적으로 확인하였다.

현장모형실험을 통한 AER옹벽의 지주보의 역학적 효과 (Mechanical Effects of Back Supporting Beam of Assembled Earth Retaining Wall on Field Model Tests Results)

  • AER옹벽은 사면안정에 적용하는 억지말뚝을 옹벽에 결합한 구조로서 새롭게 개발되었으며, 종래의 옹벽보다 안정성과 경제성이 크게 향상 되었다. AER옹벽에 적용된 억지말뚝은 지주보로 명명하고, 지주보에 의해 구조적인 안정성을 증가될 것으로 판단되어 현장모형실험과 3D 수치해석을 실시하였다. 현장실험의 결과, L형 옹벽에 비해 토압이 상당히 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있으며, 3D 수치해석을 통해 일반적인 L형 옹벽과 AER옹벽을 비교한 결과 최소 29.85%의 수평변위억제효과를 확인하였다. 즉, AER옹벽의 지주보의 뛰어난 역학적 안정성을 통해 경제성을 높일 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Glyoxide의 근관정화효과에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE CLEANSING EFFECT OF GLYOXIDE ON THE DENTINAL WALLS OF ROOT CANAL)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cleansing effect of Glyoxide on the dentinal walls of the root canal. Fourty teeth were divided into four groups and the canals in each group were individually enlarged with K-file by step-back technic and irrigated with one of four irrigants. The four used irrigants were Glyoxide (Marion lab. U.S.A.) in combination with 3.5% sodium hypochlorite, 3.5% sodium hypochlorite, 3.5% sodium hypochlorite in combination with 3% hydrogen peroxide and normal saline solution. All the irrigants were used in conjunction with instrumentation as they would be during clinical conditions. After final irrigation, the canals were dried with paper points and the teeth were split longitudinally. The cleaness of canal walls according to the size and the level of canals were evaluated under steroscope by t analysed statistically The results were as follows. 1. The use of 3.5% sodium hyphochlorite in combination with 3.0% hydrogen peroxide revealed the most clean canal surface regardless of the size of canal at apical third of root canal (p < 0.05). 2. Glyoxide in combination with 3.5% sodium hyphchlorite showed no significant difference in cleaning effect of canal surface compared with 3.5% sodium hypochlorite and normal saline solution at the apical third of narrow canal. 3. Glyoxide in combination with 3.5% sodium hypochlorite revealed no significant difference in debridement of canal walls compared with 3.5% sodium hypochlorite in combination with 3% hydrogen peroxide and saline solution at the middle third of narrow and large canals.

사면붕괴 억제 타이백 벽체 설계에 대한 고찰 (Design Considerations for Tied Back Soil Landslide Suppressor Walls)

  • 본 논문은 지반 적용을 위한 사면붕괴 억제 타이백 벽체설계의 주제에 관한 여러 가지 설계고려사항을 검토해보았다. 설계는 특정 지역 조건에 맞는 벽체를 설계하기 위한 토질역학과 지질학의 복합된 지식을 요구한다. 설계를 완성하기 위한 많은 측면들이 여전히 완벽하게 연구되어 있지 않다. 본 논문은 기존의 타이백 벽체설계에 관한 개요와 suppressor 벽체 지중압력/타이백에 기인한 응력 회전과 같은 새로운 이슈의 토론 등을 기술하였다. 지진력의 효과에 관해서도 서술하였다.

Analytical and ANN-based models for assessment of hunchback retaining walls: Investigating lateral earth pressure in unsaturated backfill

  • This study investigates the behaviour of hunchback retaining walls supporting unsaturated sandy backfill under active earth pressure conditions. Utilizing a horizontal slice method and a unified effective stress methodology, the influence of various factors on lateral earth pressure, including the position of the hunch along the wall, friction angles, and wall heights, is explored. The results suggest that relocating the hunch position from close to the wall's top to near its base leads to a significant decrease (ranging from 54% to 81%) in lateral earth pressure. However, as the hunch position transitions from near the top to mid-height, the point of application of active thrust shifts upward initially, then slightly downward as the hunch position approaches the toe. Notably, the reduction in lateral earth pressure is more pronounced for shorter wall heights and higher friction angles. Building upon these findings, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN)-based model is developed to accurately predict the lateral earth pressure coefficient and point of application, achieving R2 values of 0.94 and 0.93, respectively. In addition, an analytical model based on Coulomb's earth pressure theory is presented and compared with ANN models. These models are anticipated to assist designers and practitioners in optimizing hunchback retaining walls for unsaturated backfill.

비점성토로 뒷채움한 강성옹벽에 작용하는 정적토압 (Static Earth Pressure on Rigid Walls Backfilled by Cohesionless Soils)

  • The Coulomb and Rankine theories have been usually used for design of retaining walls, in which the earth pressures have been assumed as a triangular distribution For the rigid retaining w리1 with inclined bacuace and horizontal surface backfilled by cohesionless soils, the analytical method of earth pressure distribution has been newly suggested by using the concept of the flat arch. The active thrust obtained by this method agrees well with those by the existing theories, except the Rankine solution. The analyzed results show that the height to the center of pressure depends mainly on the inclination of the back wall and the wall friction, instead of 0.33H, where H is the wall height.

Time-Delay and Amplitude Modified BP Imaging Algorithm of Multiple Targets for UWB Through-the-Wall Radar Imaging

  • In order to solve the undetected probability of multiple targets in ultra-wideband (UWB) through-the-wall radar imaging (TWRI), a time-delay and amplitude modified back projection (BP) algorithm is proposed. The refraction point is found by Fermat's principle in the presence of a wall, and the time-delay is correctly compensated. On this basis, transmission loss of the electromagnetic wave, the absorption loss of the refraction wave, and the diffusion loss of the spherical wave are analyzed in detail. Amplitude compensation is deduced and tested on a model with a single-layer wall. The simulating results by finite difference time domain (FDTD) show that it is effective in increasing the scattering intensity of the targets behind the wall. Compensation for the diffusion loss in the spherical wave also plays a main role. Additionally, the two-layer wall model is simulated. Then, the calculating time and the imaging quality are compared between a single-layer wall model and a two-layer wall model. The results illustrate the performance of the time-delay and amplitude-modified BP algorithm with multiple targets and multiple-layer walls of UWB TWRI.
