CNC 선반용 4축 전용로봇의 모델링 및 시뮬레이션 (Modeling and Simulation of 4-Axis Dedicated Robot for CNC Lathe)

  • This paper describes the modeling and simulation of a four-axis dedicated robot that can attach and detach a workpiece on a computer numerical control (CNC) lathe. The robot was modeled as a Scarab robot for compatibility with CNC lathes. The advantages of such a robot are that an actuator with a small capacity can be used for the robot and the degrees of freedom of the robot can be reduced to four. For the simulation of the four-axis dedicated robot, a regular kinematic equation and an inverse kinematic equation were derived. Simulations were performed with these equations from the position of the loading device to the chuck position of the lathe before machining and from the chuck of the lathe to the position of the loading device after machining. The simulation results showed that the four-axis dedicated robot could be operated accurately, and they provided the joint angle of each motor (θ1, θ2, and θ3).

배드민턴 드롭샷 동작의 운동학적 분석 (Kinematic Analysis of the Badminton Drop-shot Motion)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyse badminton players' drop-shots, in order' to make players understand the principles of drop-shot motion in badminton. Three dimensional analysis was used to measure movements such as the time required per section, the change of center of gravity, joint angle and speed, and joint speed. The results of this study revealed as follows: (1) top players are faster than amateurs in the total time required per section; (2) top players moved more in the x-axis and z-axis, while amateurs moved more in the y-axis; (3) the inclination of amateurs was greater than that of top players in all phases; (4) amateurs showed larger angle on the shoulder joints than top players in the first phase, while top players showed larger angle on the shoulder joint than amateurs in the second and third phase. Amateurs' angle was larger on angle joint in the first phase than top players' ones, while top players' angle was larger in the third phase than amateurs; (5) the speed of racket head of top players was faster than that of amateurs; and the velocity of the center of gravity of amateurs was greater than that of the top players. The findings of this study were that gravity decreases during impact and then the velocity increases to perform the follow-through and making the swing fast by increasing the speed of the racket head is most important.

500W 급 다리우스형 풍력발전기의 최적설계를 위한 수치적 연구 (Numerical study to Determine Optimal Design of 500W Darrieus-type Vertical Axis Wind Turbine)

  • 본 논문은 NACA 익형의 블레이드를 가지는 다리우스 수직축 풍력발전기(VAWT)의 성능특성에 대한 연구이다. 다양한 설계변수를 이용한 다리우스 VAWT 의 최적 형상을 예측하기 위해서 블레이드 근처에서 나타나는 공력특성 및 박리유동, 유동과 블레이드 간의 상호작용, 이로 인해 유도되는 토크 및 출력특성 등을 분석하였다. 블레이드의 최적 형상 설계 및 주변 유동과의 상호작용 특성을 보기 위하여 다양한 인자들 (즉, 코드길이, 로터직경, 피치각, 블레이드의 두께비 및 비틀림각 등)을 고려하였다. 본 연구에서 연구결과로는 TSR 가 낮은 영역에서는 솔리디티가 큰 로터가 높은 출력계수를 가지는 반면, TSR 이 높은 영역에서는 솔리디티가 작은 로터가 높은 출력계수를 가진다. 블레이드의 익형이 안쪽으로 향하는 피치각은 $-2^{\circ}$와 비틀림각이 $0^{\circ}$ 일 때, 다리우스형 VAWT 가 최대 출력을 발생하였다.

LED 광원을 이용한 디지털 혀 영상 촬영장치의 기구설계와 개발 (Mechanical Design and Development of a Digital Tongue Imaging System Equipped with LEDs)

  • Objectives: The aims of this study are to design a optimized mechanical structure of digital tongue imaging system (DTIS) equipped with LEDs in aspects of object distance and camera angle of coverage. Methods and Results: We tried to find optimized object distance while recording a rectangular object of common tongue size. In case object distance is 22 cm or less, edge of the rectangle was not taken beyond the shooting range. In contrast, if object distance is 40 cm or more, the rectangle image was too small. Therefore when considering the variation of subjects, we selected distance of 35-40 cm as appropriate object distance for the DTIS. We also tried to find optimized angle between camera view axis and horizontal line. We photographed from the side of the face of 7 adults with exposed tongue. We drew an exposed tongue lines to connect the tongue tip points and the tongue root points by using the photos acquired from the side faces. And then we calculated the tongue exposure angles between the vertical line and the exposed tongue lines. Mean tongue exposure angle was $28.3^{\circ}$ when tongue was lightly exposed and $13.3^{\circ}$ when maximally. So we determined $73^{\circ}$ as appropriate slope angle of part in contact with face of the DTIS and by considering that the standard variation was great, we designed control gears to adjust the slope of the camera view axis and to regulate the object distance. Conclusions: We designed a optimized mechanical structure in object distance and slope angle of part in contact with face of the DTIS.

Design of Off-axis Wide Angle Lens for the Automobile Application

  • Recently various types of driver assistance systems have been used for automobiles. In 2008, the U.S Congress passed a law which required that most cars be equipped with devices to warn objects behind the vehicle. Because of that, market of rear view cameras is expected to rise dramatically. Therefore many suppliers try to provide a wide angle camera for car makers. But a high distortion is caused by the wide angle might result in lower image quality. In order to improve the image quality, normally we use an algorithm to correct a distortion. Though we can improve the distorted image by correction algorithm, we must pay more cost to use it. In this paper, we propose a new optical system reducing a distortion in contrast to a conventional lens without cost. In other words, we can see only an area of interest. That is similar to reducing a field of view. Using a new optical system, we can get a less distorted image. In order to view an area of interest, we introduce an off axis optical system having refractive surfaces and reflective surfaces. In this paper, we describe the results of design and, evaluation of an off axis wide angle compact imaging system. In comparison to conventional wide angle lens, we can get the improvement of MTF, distortion, and lateral color aberrations. And we also can reduce a total cost because we don't need the outer apparatus or bracket to mount on the car.

Radiographic Comparison of Cranial Tibial Wedge Osteotomy versus Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy: A Cadaveric Study

  • The present study was performed to compare cranial tibial wedge osteotomy (CTWO) and tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) through radiographic evaluation. The experiment was conducted with five cadaver dogs [mean (± SD) weight, 32.9 ± 4.1 kg; mean (± SD) age, 6 ± 2 years; three males and two females] euthanized for reasons unrelated to this study. The cadaver dogs consisted of German Shepherd (n = 3), Belgian Malinois (n = 1), and mixed breed (n = 1). CTWO and TPLO were carried out by the standard surgical method. Radiographic evaluation was performed by comparing several factors, including the flexion and extension angles, the anatomical mechanical axis angle (AMA-angle), tibial length, patellar height measurement using the Labelle-Laurin method, mechanical medial proximal tibial angle (mMPTA), mechanical medial distal tibial angle (mMDTA), and frontal plane alignment (FPA). Both the CTWO and the TPLO groups showed significantly increased flexion angles after surgery. Only the CTWO group had significantly increased extension angle. Although both groups showed significant decreases in the AMA-angle, the mechanical axis moved cranially against the anatomical axis only in the CTWO group. The patellar height was significantly lowered in the CTWO group. No significant differences were found in mMPTA, mMDTA, or FPA. In conclusion, radiographic comparison revealed more changes in CTWO group than in TPLO group.

Reliability and Validity of the Femorotibial Mechanical Axis Angle in Primary Total Knee Arthroplasty: Navigation versus Weight Bearing or Supine Whole Leg Radiographs

  • Purpose: To evaluate the reliability and validity of the femorotibial mechanical axis angle from radiographs in the weight bearing (WB) and supine positions compared with navigation-measured values. Materials and Methods: Sixty-eight cases of navigation-assisted total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were included. The pre- and postoperative whole leg radiographs (WLRs) in WB and supine positions were compared with the initial and final navigation values. Results: The mean mechanical axis angle from the preoperative WBWLR and navigation were not statistically different (p=0.079) and were correlated strongly with each other (intraclass correlation [ICC], 0.818). However, on postoperative measurements, although the WBWLR and navigation values were not different (p=0.098), they were not correlated with each other (ICC, 0.093). The standard error of measurement was $1.8^{\circ}{\pm}3.6^{\circ}$ for the preoperative WBWLR and $2.5^{\circ}{\pm}4.8^{\circ}$ for the postoperative WBWLR. The validity that was determined by the Bland-Altman plot was not acceptable for both pre- and postoperative measurements. Conclusions: The preoperative WBWLR could provide accurate but not precise measurement value of the femorotibial mechanical axis angle for navigation-assisted TKA, and postoperative measurements in navigation were not comparable with radiographic measurements. The lack of agreement was found between the radiographic and navigation measurements of the coronal alignment regardless of pre- or postoperative evaluation although the accuracy was found acceptable. Level of Evidence : Level 4.

직교이방향 GFRP 재료 특성에 미치는 유리 섬유방향의 영향 (Influence of Glass Fiber Orientation on the Bi-directional GFRP Characteristics)

  • 직교이방향 이층 유리섬유 강화 Epoxy 수지를 사용하여 인장축에 대해 섬유방향이 0$^{\circ}$, 15$^{\circ}$, 25$^{\circ}$ 및 45$^{\circ}$인 시료로 인장시험 및 전기절연 강도시험을 통하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 섬유방향이 인장축에 대해 0$^{\circ}$에서 45$^{\circ}$로 증가함에 따라 항복응력 및 파단응력은 감소하는 경향이고 특히 0$^{\circ}$와 15$^{\circ}$ 사이에서 급격한 변화율을 보인다. 2) 파단시 변화율은 인장방향에 대한 섬유방향이 45$^{\circ}$인 경우 최대치를 나타냈고 15$^{\circ}$~45$^{\circ}$ 범위에서 급격한 변화율을 보인다. 3)섬유의 방향이 동일할 경우 인장력을 많이 받은 시료일수록 최대절연강도 값은 낮아졌고 인장방향과 섬유방향의 교각이 증가할수록 최대절연강도 값을 나타내는 압축응력의 값은 낮은 점으로 이동하는 경향을 보였다. 4) 기계적 특성과 같이 섬유방향이 45$^{\circ}$인 경우의 시료가 가장 나쁜 전기적 절연강도 특성을 나타냈다.

테니스 포핸드 스트로크 동안 오픈스탠스 조건에 따른 3차원 운동학적 분석 (3-D Kinematic Analysis According to Open Stance Patterns During Forehand Stroke in Tennis)

  • Recently among several tennis techniques forehand stroke has been greatly changed in the aspect of spin, grip and stance. The most fundamental factor among the three factors is the stance which consists of open, square and closed stance. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relations between the segments of the body, the three dimensional anatomical angle according to open stance patterns during forehand stroke in tennis. For the movement analysis three dimensional cinematographical method(APAS) was used and for the calculation of the kinematic variables a self developed program was used with the LabVlEW 6.1 graphical programming(Johnson, 1999) program. By using Eular's equations the three dimensional anatomical Cardan angles of the joint and racket head angle were defined 1. In three dimensional maximum linear velocity of racket head the X axis showed $11.41{\pm}5.27m/s$ at impact, not the Y axis(horizontal direction) and the z axis(vertical direction) maximum linear velocity of racket head did not show at impact but after impact this will resulted influence upon hitting ball It could be suggest that Y axis velocity of racket head influence on ball direction and z axis velocity influence on ball spin after impact. the stance distance between right foot and left foot was mean $74.2{\pm}11.2m$. 2. The three dimensional anatomical angular displacement of shoulder joint showed most important role in forehand stroke. and is followed by wrist joints, in addition the movement of elbow joints showed least to the stroke. The three dimensional anatomical angular displacement of racket increased flexion/abduction angle until the impact. after impact, The angular displacement of racket changed motion direction as extension/adduction. 3. The three dimensional anatomical angular displacement of trunk in flexion-extension showed extension all around the forehand stroke. The angular displacement of trunk in adduction-abduction showed abduction at the backswing top and adduction around impact. while there is no significant internal-external rotation 4. The three dimensional anatomical angular displacement of hip joint and knee joint increased extension angle after minimum of knee joint angle in the forehand stroke, The three dimensional anatomical angular displacement of ankle joint showed plantar flexion, internal rotation and eversion in forehand stroke. it could be suggest that the plantar pressure of open stance during forehand stroke would be distributed more largely to the fore foot. and lateral side.

방위각센서의 자기특성 측정 장치 제작 (Construction of Measuring System for Magnetic Properties Measurement of Azimuth Angle Sensor)

  • 자북을 지시하는 방위각 측정용 센서는 항공기와 선박이나 스마트폰 등에 널리 사용되고 있다. 센서의 좌표계가 회전을 하였을 경우도 방위각(azimuth angle) 및 회전각(roll angle)를 지시할 수 있게 하기위하여 3-축의 가속도 센서가 추가로 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 방위각센서에 부착된 3-축의 자기장센서의 특성을 측정하거나, 방위각센서용 3-축의 자기장센서를 개발하기 위하여 3-축의 자기장센서의 방위각 특성을 측정할 수 있는 장치를 개발 제작하였다. 3-축의 자기장발생을 위해서 직경이 290 mm 이상인 3-축의 헬름홀쯔 코일을 사용하여 코일 중심 ${\pm}30mm$ 범위에서 자기장의 분포의 균일도가 0.2 % 이내가 되게 하였다. 비자성실험실이 아닌 일반실험실에서도 실험이 가능하게 소형의 헬름홀쯔 코일과 3-축의 마그네토미터를 사용, 환경자기장(지구자기장+건축물에 의한 자기장)을 보상하고 시험하고자하는 자기장을 컴퓨터 소프트웨어로 제어를 할 수 있게 시험 장치를 고안하였다. 제작된 장치는 자기장을 0.2 % 정확도로, 직각도를 $0.2^{\circ}$, 환경자기장을 10 nT 이하로 보상할 수 있었다. 또한 제작된 장치의 성능검증을 위하여 상용의 방위각센서에 대하여, 그 특성을 측정하여보았다.
