An Experimental Study on the Effects of Lateral Reinforcement of High-Strength R/C Columns Subjected to Reversed Cyclic and Axial Forces (축력과 반복횡력을 받는 고강도 R/C 기둥의 횡보강근 효과에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • An experimental investigation was conducted to examine the behavior of high-strength concrete R/C columns subjected to moment, shear and axial load. The test parameters of specimens were the compressive strength of concrete(f'c=250, 516, 600kg/ ㎠), space of lateral reinforcement (20, 30, 37cm) and lateral reinforcement ratio(ρs=2.1, 3.15%). Test results indicated that compressive strength of concrete and lateral reinforcement can significantly affect and alter the behavior of column under inelastic cyclic loadings. Despite of the defaults of high-strength concrete, with increased amount of lateral reinforcement ratio to core concrete and added sub-lateral reinforcement, ductility and strength of RC columns used high-strength concrete can secured.

  • Right hand circularly polarized Ka band microstrip patch array antenna was designed, manufacture and measurement were carried out. In order to lower axial ratio performance sequential rotation array technique was used. With mono-pulse feed There are sum and delta channel. Waveguide to microstrip transition was used. The 512 array antenna was performed which axial ratio is about 1.ldB in the half power beam width and also 1.ldB at the normal direction. Directivity gain of designed antenna is 32dB.

  • In this paper, Dual-polarized Tx/Rx antenna for RFID reader is designed and fabricated to apply to RFID reader. Each feeding network of Tx/Rx is designed to improve the port-isolation and cross-polarization, and sequential rotation feeding scheme has been applied to increase of axial ratio bandwidth. Measured results show that 2.35dBi of antenna gain in 900MHz$\sim$928MHz, 150MHz of 3dB axial ratio bandwidth, -38dB$\sim$-40dB of port-isolation, and -30dB$\sim$-40dB of cross-polarization.

Analysis of belt behavior for a metal V-belt CVT (금속 V-벨트 CVT의 벨트거동 해석)

  • The metal V-belt behavior of a continuously variable transmission was investigated analytically and experimentally. Numerical results showed that nondimensional belt radial displacement increased in the radial inward direction for the driven pulley, while that of the driver pulley increased for the first 90 degrees of the active are and decreased with the increasing torque load. Experimental results for the belt radial displacement were in good agreement with the theoretical results. However, the absolute magnitude of the belt radial displacement was so small that the change in the belt displacement could not be measured in the experimental range except for the inlet region of the driven pulley, where the radial inward displacement was observed due to the effect of bending moment. The speed ratio-axial force relationship derived from the belt behavior analysis also showed god agreement with the experiment.

  • Effects of fuel injection timing on the lean misfire limit of a sequential MPI SI engine has been investigated. To investigate the interaction of injection timing and intake flow characteristics, so called axial stratification phenomena, 4 kinds of different intake swirl port of the same combustion chamber geometry have been teated in a single cylinder engine test bench. And 2 kinds of fuel, gasoline and compressed natural gas(CNG), were used to see the effect of liquid fuel vaporization. Result shows that combination of port swirl and injection timing governs the lean misfire limit and lean misfire limit envelopes remain almost the same for a given ratio regardless of engine speed. It is also found that two phase flow has some effects on lean misfire limit.

  • The differential equations governing free, in-plane vibrations of non-circular arches with the translational (radial and tangential directions) and rotational springs at the ends, including the effects of rotatory inertia, shear deformation and axial deformation, are solved numerically using the corresponding boundary conditions. The lowest four natural frequencies for the parabolic geometry are calculated over a range of non-dimensional system parameters: the arch rise to span length ratio, the slenderness ratio, and the translational and rotational spring parameters.

  • This paper discusses the electromagnetic and mechanical design considerations to improve the design accuracy and power to mass ratio of multi-stack axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator (AFPMSG). Design accuracy of multi-stack AFPMSG for direct drive wind turbine application is improved by considering magnetic flux leakages and fringing effect. FEM structural analysis is utilized to increase power to mass ratio of three-stack AFPMSG by reducing the rotor yoke thickness considering magnetic and centrifugal forces and Von Mises stress distribution.

  • A microstrip patch antenna with circular polarization based on the Sierpinski fractal geometry is proposed. The Sierpinski fractal is composed of 3 equilaterial triangular patch and is easy to produce a circular polarization by sequentially rotation techniques. The characteristics of a 1x3 antenna array from Sierpinski geometry are investigated, i.e. port isolation and AR(axial Ratio).

  • The main advantages of the Dry CVT with V-belt, which has been popular in Asia, are a simple mechanism, less maintenance and low cost. The important factors which have an influence on the performance of the CVT are the weight of the centrifugal roller, the change of axial distance and spring force. Based on an experiment, the effects of load torque, speed ratio, and revolution of both the driving pulley and the driven pulley during the alteration of the axial distance, roller weight and spring constant were studied.

  • Steel-concrete composite columns are used extensively in modern buildings. Extensive research on composite columns in which structural steel are in concrete have been carried out. In-filled composite columns, however have received limited attention compared to encased columns. In this paper, interrelationship of parameters is examined into analyzing and comparing with data through ABAQUS program and experiment on concrete filled tubular column under axial load and propriety of model is checked out by FEM analysis. The main variations of this paper are width-thickness ratio of the section(B/t =33.3, 38.9, 44.4), concrete strength($f_{ck}$=240, 360kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$), and width-length ratio($L_o$/B=8.0, 10.0, 12.0, 15.0, 20.0). The ultimate value obtained through analysis is compared with test value and calculated by design code of other countries and previous studies.
