This study develops a forecasting method to estimate air cargo demand from ICN(Incheon International Airport) to all airports in EU with Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA) Model using volumes from the first quarter of 2000 to the fourth quarter of 2009. This paper shows the superiority of SARIMA Model by comparing the forecasting accuracy of SARIMA with that of other ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) models. Given that very few papers and researches focuses on air route, this paper will be helpful to researchers concerned with air cargo.
Seawater intrusion into coastal fractured rock aquifer, resulting in groundwater contamination, is of serious concern in coastal areas of Jeolla Namdo, Korea, which heavily depends on groundwater resources. Time series analysis and forecasting were carried out to analyze and predict EC which is a major indicator of seawater intrusion. Two time series models of autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) and seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average (SARIMA) were tested for suggesting appropriate time series model. Time series data of EC measured over one year showed a increasing trend with short periodic fluctuations, due to tidal effect and pumping, which indicated that EC time series data tended to be non-stationary. SARIMA model was found better fitted to observed EC than any other time series model. Time series analysis and modeling was found to be a useful tool to analyze EC at coastal fractured rock aquifer subject to seawater intrusion.
The purpose of this study was to apply the deep running method to real estate price index predicting and to compare it with the time series analysis method to test the possibility of its application to real estate market forecasting. Various real estate price indices were predicted using the DNN (deep neural networks) and LSTM (long short term memory networks) models, both of which draw on the deep learning method, and the ARIMA (autoregressive integrated moving average) model, which is based on the time seies analysis method. The results of the study showed the following. First, the predictive power of the deep learning method is superior to that of the time series analysis method. Second, among the deep learning models, the predictability of the DNN model is slightly superior to that of the LSTM model. Third, the deep learning method and the ARIMA model are the least reliable tools for predicting the housing sales prices index among the real estate price indices. Drawing on the deep learning method, it is hoped that this study will help enhance the accuracy in predicting the real estate market dynamics.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of three approaches (the seasonal auto-regressive integrated moving average [SARIMA] model, the nonlinear autoregressive exogenous [NARX] artificial neural networks and Wood's model) to the prediction of milk yield during lactation. Methods: The dataset comprised monthly test-day records from 965 Polish Holstein-Friesian Black-and-White primiparous cows. The milk yields from cows in their first lactation (from 5 to 305 days in milk) were used. Each lactation was divided into ten lactation stages of approximately 30 days. Two age groups and four calving seasons were distinguished. The records collected between 2009 and 2015 were used for model fitting and those from 2016 for the verification of predictive performance. Results: No significant differences between the predicted and the real values were found. The predictions generated by SARIMA were slightly more accurate, although they did not differ significantly from those produced by the NARX and Wood's models. SARIMA had a slightly better performance, especially in the initial periods, whereas the NARX and Wood's models in the later ones. Conclusion: The use of SARIMA was more time-consuming than that of NARX and Wood's model. The application of the SARIMA, NARX and Wood's models (after their implementation in a user-friendly software) may allow farmers to estimate milk yield of cows that begin production for the first time.
In this paper, we consider univariate time series models that are well known in the field of forecasting and we study on forecasting performance for their simple combinations. The univariate time series models include exponential smoothing methods and ARIMA (autoregressive integrated moving average) models, their extended models, and non-seasonal and seasonal random walk models, which is frequently used as benchmark models for forecasting. The median and mean are simply used for the combination method, and the data set used for performance evaluation is M3-competition data composed of 3,003 various time series data. As results of evaluating the performance by sMAPE (symmetric mean absolute percentage error) and MASE (mean absolute scaled error), we assure that the simple combinations of the univariate models perform very well in the M3-competition dataset.
In this paper, our concern is the artificial neural network-based patten classification, when can resolve the difficulties in the Autoregressive Moving Average(ARMA) model identification problem To effectively classify a time series into an approriate ARMA model, we adopt the Multi-layered Backpropagation Network (MLBPN) as a pattern classifier, and Extended Sample Autocorrelation Function (ESACF) as a feature extractor. To improve the classification power of MLBPN's we suggest an integrated neural network system which consists of an AR Network and many small-sized MA Networks. The output of AR Network which will gives the MA order. A step-by-step training strategy is also suggested so that the learned MLBPN's can effectively ESACF patterns contaminated by the high level of noises. The experiment with the artificially generated test data and real world data showed the promising results. Our approach, combined with a statistical parameter estimation method, will provide a way to the automation of ARMA modeling.

This study was conducted to investigate that bus information was used as an information of travel speed. To determine the travel speed on the road, bus information and the information collected from the point detector and the interval detection installed were compared. If bus information has the function of traffic information detector, can provide the travel speed information to road users. To this end, the model of recognizing the traffic patterns is necessary. This study used simple moving-average method, simple exponential smoothing method, Double moving average method, Double exponential smoothing method, ARIMA(Autoregressive integrated moving average model) as the existing methods rather than new approach methods. This study suggested the possibility to replace bus information system into other information collection system.

This empirical research aims to modeling and improving the forecasting accuracy of the volatility pattern by employing the Saudi Arabia stock market (Tadawul)by studying daily closed price index data from October 2011 to December 2019 with a number of observations being 2048. In order to achieve significant results, this study employs many mathematical functions which are non-linear spectral model Maximum overlapping Discrete Wavelet Transform (MODWT) based on the best localized function (Bl14), autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model and generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (GARCH) models. Therefore, the major findings of this study show that all the previous events during the mentioned period of time will be explained and a new forecasting model will be suggested by combining the best MODWT function (Bl14 function) and the fitted GARCH model. Therefore, the results show that the ability of MODWT in decomposition the stock market data, highlighting the significant events which have the most highly volatile data and improving the forecasting accuracy will be showed based on some mathematical criteria such as Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), Mean Absolute Scaled Error (MASE), Root Means Squared Error (RMSE), Akaike information criterion. These results will be implemented using MATLAB software and R- software.

The big data analysis has received much attention from the researchers working in various fields because the big data has a great potential in detecting or predicting future events such as epidemic outbreaks and changes in stock prices. Reflecting the current popularity of big data analysis, many authors have proposed methods tracking influenza epidemics based on internet-based information. The recently proposed 'autoregressive model using Google (ARGO) model' (Yang et al., 2015) is one of those influenza tracking models that harness search queries from Google as well as the reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and appears to outperform the existing method such as 'Google Flu Trends (GFT)'. Although the ARGO predicts well the outbreaks of influenza, this study demonstrates that a classical seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average (SARIMA) model can outperform the ARGO. The SARIMA model incorporates more accurate seasonality of the past influenza activities and takes less input variables into account. Our findings show that the SARIMA model is a functional tool for monitoring influenza epidemics.

Weekly and monthly electric load forecasting are essential for the generator maintenance plan and the systematic operation of the electric power reserve. This paper proposes the weekly maximum electric load forecasting model for 104 weeks with the multiple regression model. Input variables of the multiple regression model are temperatures and GDP that are highly correlated with electric loads. The weekly variable is added as input variable to improve the accuracy of electric load forecasting. Test results show that the proposed algorithm improves the accuracy of electric load forecasting over the seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average model. We expect that the proposed algorithm can contribute to the systematic operation of the power system by improving the accuracy of the electric load forecasting.
