The most important point when we engage on waterway dredging work is supplying safe navigational passage to the vessels underway by narrowing dredge work area and removing submerged dangers. In order to meet this end it is neccessary to use auxiliary equipment for shifting actively and mooring and adopt automation of dredging work by integrating information on real time position, dredging depth, and work information. The danger with a spud control system in this study, by the way, is able to employed on continuous dredging work with the narrowest working area allowing wide and safe passages to vessels underway, by moving the dredger to the working zone with the spud controlled automatically. Furthermore, it has been improved definitely compared with the existing dredging proccess management system such that it shows the track of spud and working depth on the electronic navigation chart of window, together with the final outcome of dredging work. The test dredging work at the entrance of Busan North Port for system evaluation showed that actual working time available was twice of the one by the existing anchor system, and that it reduced 38% of time for preparation work and one man power.
In an intensively competitive global market, small-and medium-sized firms are puzzled about how to develop sustainable competitive advantages against global rivalries, thus leading satisfactory economic performance. However, despite the roles and contributions of such small-and medium-sized firms in the local community and national economies in Japan, little guidance has been offered to the practical issues related to their strategic behaviors toward global management. To fill this notable knowledge gap, this study aims to investigate the conditions in which how Japanese small-and medium-sized could dominates global market, which is one of key challenges in the literature of small business and entrepreneurship. To obtain better insights to this research area, this study undertakes an in-depth interview survey with I.S.T (Industrial Summit Technology) Corporation that shows off the highest global market share (40 per cent) with seamless polyimide tube product widely used in office automation equipment (e.g., copiers and printers). This method of survey is designed to deeply understand historical considerations about how I.S.T Corporation could dominate in the global market of such seamless polyimide tube product. Based on findings drawn from an interview, this study identifies five major factors enabling I.S.T Corporation to be a competitive global hidden company: vision sharing through founder's entrepreneurship, core competence, strategic network, risk management, and employee engagement. Specifically, to become a global hidden champion, sharing the vision motivating employees to partake in shaping company's future will be the first step on the road to global success through founder's entrepreneurship. However, in order to achieve such a vision, the importance of company's core competence cannot be overemphasized, which differentiates your customer solution with those of competitors. As such, a group of experts will be naturally formed and demonstrates your expertise in the global market, thereby building sustainable competitiveness. On the other hand, to maintain sustainable competitiveness, it is necessary to make up for the weaknesses small-and medium-sized firms suffer from competitive resources while strengthening their own strengths through strategic networks with external organizations. Here, every company has to understand the critical role of risk management, which is essential in this process of being global company so as not to lose your own strengths. Last but not least, do not forget the significant effects of employee engagement in firm performance. To enhance employees' engagement, a company has to create an ideal organization culture which fits into company's history and personality. In doing so, such organization culture can allow the vision and strategy to be implemented into detailed business tactics while facilitating employees to challenge the status quo by experimenting with creative ideas.

For domestic urban railways, which have a 19.7% aging rate, a performance evaluation is necessary to establish capital improvement investment plans. The performance evaluation, which was recently enacted in the relevant law, points out the excessive time and effort for acquiring data and evaluation. This study developed a performance evaluation simulation prototype using a virtual reality (VR) method to use as training contents for railway performance evaluations. The practical use of the VR technique to reduce the working time under poor environment conditions was confirmed through a literature review. A survey and consultation were conducted for urban railway experts to determine the weight of the performance evaluation items and the facility breakdown structure. This information was utilized to develop performance evaluation sheets for simulation. Based on the evaluation sheet, a training content prototype that evaluates the performance of platform safety doors was developed using VR techniques with HTC VIVE equipment. VR simulation tests were conducted for six players, and the prototype was sufficiently advantageous for a visual confirmation of the facility information. The result is expected to be useful for engineers to understand the performance evaluation process efficiently before an actual performance evaluation of urban railway facilities.

This study was conducted to investigate and analyze the discharge characteristics of recyclable material from S-city, S-district, in order to improve the sorting efficiency in recycling sorting facility. The characteristics of recyclable materials collected were analyzed in three different scopes; source origin, collection and transportation, and sorting steps. The average of recyclable waste generation is $0.121kg/day^*man$. Regional collection period appears to be three times a week, and the density of mixed recyclable wastes showed the average of $202.4kg/m^3$ in the waste collection vehicle. In the analysis into the sorting steps, the average of carrying amount of mixed recycling products is 1,154.6 ton/month, the average of appeared density is $181kg/m^3$, the average amount of separated recycling products is 448.5kg/month, and the density of recycling residue is found out to be $48kg/m^3$. The sorting rate of recyclable material is 38.85% and the percentage of residues is 55.90%. Out of 7,744.8 tons of the total recyclable residues, 4,272.1 tons were found out to be possible recylable materials. As a result of increasing the recycling rate of residues, the encouragement of base-recycling, the automation and retrofit of sorting equipment, and energy recovery from recycling residue were discussed.

Smart Factory consists of digital automation solutions throughout the production process, including design, development, manufacturing and distribution, and it is an intelligent factory that installs IoT in its internal facilities and machines to collect process data in real time and analyze them so that it can control itself. The smart factory's equipment works in a physical combination of numerous hardware, rather than a virtual character being driven by a single object, such as a game. In other words, for a specific common goal, multiple devices must perform individual actions simultaneously. By taking advantage of the smart factory, which can collect process data in real time, if reinforcement learning is used instead of general machine learning, behavior control can be performed without the required training data. However, in the real world, it is impossible to learn more than tens of millions of iterations due to physical wear and time. Thus, this paper uses simulators to develop grid sortation systems focusing on transport facilities, one of the complex environments in smart factory field, and design cooperative multi-agent-based reinforcement learning to demonstrate efficient behavior control.

The ship's chart system was changed from the use of paper chart to the ENC (Electronic Navigational Chart) using ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System). The introduction of ENC in ships is necessary for ship automation and for the digitalizing of data and integration of information, but unexpected various problems have occurred and are posing a great threat to safe navigation in the transitional period when the new system has been applied to the sea. In this paper, to assess whether ECDIS contributes to the safety of navigation for its intended purposes as new navigation equipment, a usability test of ECDIS was conducted on masters and crew who have used ECDIS on ocean-going vessels. The result was verified with a paired sample T-test, and it was significantly analyzed with the effectiveness of a simplified task; cost efficiency was decreased since ECDIS was used. By analyzing 'MSC.1/Circ.1503 ECDIS - Guidance for good practice', we found that the effects of the maintenance of ECDIS software, operating anomalies identified within ECDIS, differences between raster chart display system (RCDS) and ECDIS, and matters of identification were compounded by the overlapping information on the safety of ships. The anomalies were also grouped according to their characteristics, and we proposed suitable improvements accordingly. The reason for the reduction in efficiency in the usability test was that the problems with ECDIS were intended to be solved only with the careful use of navigational officers who did not have systematic solutions. To solve these problems, the maintenance of software, the improvement of ECDIS anomalies, the reliable ENC issuance including the global oceans, and S-mode development are a priority.

The fluid power products are widely used in current industrial area such as automation of products and equipment assembly, high-tech machine tool, aircraft, train, and etc. As the development of industry is in progress, the development of the fluid power products is demanding and it is required in every industrial area. This research proposed a pneumatic system to evaluate displacement accuracy of the pneumatic actuator without external load and to analyze capability of integration of the valve system. The pneumatic system consisted of a combination of pneumatic actuator, four two-port valves, two three-port valves, two pressure valve, a check valve, two proximity sensors, and a program logic controller (PLC). The position controller is based on the PLC connected with the proximity sensors. The maximum air pressure applied for tests was $49.05N/cm^2$ and the displacement accuracy of a stroke was measured using a dial gauge. The supply- and discharge-side of air pressure and the length of the stroke of the pneumatic cylinder were varied The test of the position control of the pneumatic cylinder was carried out 50 times at each supply- and discharge-side air pressure of 24.53/34.34, 29.43/39.24, 34.34/44.15, and $39.24/49.05N/cm^2$ and replicated three times. The accuracy of the displacement of the pneumatic cylinder stroke increased as the supply- and discharge-side of air pressure increased with the stroke length of 133mm. Also the displacement accuracy increased as the stroke length increased with the fixed supply- and discharge-side of air pressure of the pneumatic cylinder as 34.34 and $44.15N/cm^2$, respectively. The most accurate displacement of the pneumatic cylinder was obtained at the supplyand discharge-side of air pressure of 39.24 and $49.05N/cm^2$, respectively, and strokes of 170 and 190mm.

In this paper, collecting real-time data frames that occur during RS232 communication between an HMI and PLC of automation equipment by sniffing real-time information data frames through MCU without modification of the HMI or PLC, a method is proposed that allows users to collect data without being dependent on the modification of PLC and HMI systems. The user collects necessary information from the sniffing data through the parsing operation, and the original communication interface is maintained by transmitting the corresponding sniffing frame to the destination. The MCU's UART communication interface circuit is physically designed according to the RS232 communication standard, and this additionally improves efficiency more so than an interrupt-based system by using the DMA device inside the MCU. In addition, the data frame IO operation is performed by logically separating the work of the DMA interrupt service routine from the work of the main thread using the circular queue. Through this method, the user receives the sniffing data frame between the HMI and PLC in RS232 format, and the frame transfer between PLC and HMI arrives normally at the original destination. By sniffing the data frame without further modification of the PLC and HMI, it can be confirmed that it arrives at the user system normally.
In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, smart factories have received great attention, where production and manufacturing technology and ICT converge. With the development of IoT technology and big data, automation of production systems has become possible. In the advanced manufacturing industry, production systems are subject to unscheduled performance degradation and downtime, and there is a demand to reduce safety risks by detecting and reparing potential errors as soon as possible. This study designs a model based on supervised and unsupervised learning for detecting anomalies. The accuracy of XGBoost, LightGBM, and CNN models was compared as a supervised learning analysis method. Through the evaluation index based on the confusion matrix, it was confirmed that LightGBM is most predictive (97%). In addition, as an unsupervised learning analysis method, MD, AE, and LSTM-AE models were constructed. Comparing three unsupervised learning analysis methods, the LSTM-AE model detected 75% of anomalies and showed the best performance. This study aims to contribute to the advancement of the smart factory by combining supervised and unsupervised learning techniques to accurately diagnose equipment failures and predict when abnormal situations occur, thereby laying the foundation for preemptive responses to abnormal situations. do.
