  • This paper is related to a new technology allowing a user to have a 360 degree viewpoint of the virtual wearing object, and to an object VR(Virtual Reality)-based 2D virtual textile wearing system using viewpoint vector estimation and textile texture mapping. The proposed system is characterized as capable of virtually wearing a new textile pattern selected by the user to the clothing shape section segmented from multiview 2D images of clothes model for object VR, and three-dimensionally viewing its virtual wearing appearance at a 360 degree viewpoint of the object. Regardless of color or intensity of model clothes, the proposed system is possible to virtually change the textile pattern with holding the illumination and shading properties of the selected clothing shape section, and also to quickly and easily simulate, compare, and select multiple textile pattern combinations for individual styles or entire outfits. The proposed system can provide higher practicality and easy-to-use interface, as it makes real-time processing possible in various digital environment, and creates comparatively natural and realistic virtual wearing styles, and also makes semi -automatic processing possible to reduce the manual works to a minimum. According to the proposed system, it can motivate the creative activity of the designers with simulation results on the effect of textile pattern design on the appearance of clothes without manufacturing physical clothes and, as it can help the purchasers for decision-making with them, promote B2B or B2C e-commerce.

Alleviating Semantic Term Mismatches in Korean Information Retrieval (한국어 정보 검색에서 의미적 용어 불일치 완화 방안)

  • An information retrieval system has to retrieve all and only documents which are relevant to a user query, even if index terms and query terms are not matched exactly. However, term mismatches between index terms and qucry terms have been a serious obstacle to the enhancement of retrieval performance. In this paper, we discuss automatic term normalization between words in text corpora and their application to a Korean information retrieval system. We perform two types of term normalizations to alleviate semantic term mismatches: equivalence class and co-occurrence cluster. First, transliterations, spelling errors, and synonyms are normalized into equivalence classes bv using contextual similarity. Second, context-based terms are normalized by using a combination of mutual information and word context to establish word similarities. Next, unsupervised clustering is done by using K-means algorithm and co-occurrence clusters are identified. In this paper, these normalized term products are used in the query expansion to alleviate semantic tem1 mismatches. In other words, we utilize two kinds of tcrm normalizations, equivalence class and co-occurrence cluster, to expand user's queries with new tcrms, in an attempt to make user's queries more comprehensive (adding transliterations) or more specific (adding spc'Cializationsl. For query expansion, we employ two complementary methods: term suggestion and term relevance feedback. The experimental results show that our proposed system can alleviatl' semantic term mismatches and can also provide the appropriate similarity measurements. As a result, we know that our system can improve the rctrieval efficiency of the information retrieval system.

  • The application of singular value decomposition (SVD) filtering is examined for attenuation of the ground-roll in land seismic data. Prior to the SVD computation to seek singular values containing the highly correlatable reflection energy, processing steps such as automatic gain control, elevation and refraction statics, NMO correction, and residual statics are performed to enhance the horizontal correlationships and continuities of reflections. Optimal parameters of SVD filtering are effectively chosen with diagnostic display of inverse NMO (INMO) corrected CSP (common shot point) gather. On the field data with dispersion of ground-roll overwhelmed, continuities of reflection events are much improved by SVD filtering than f-k filtering by eliminating the ground-roll with preserving the low-frequency reflections. This is well explained in the average amplitude spectra of the f-k and SVD filtered data. The reflectors including horizontal layer of the reservoir are much clearer on the stack section, with laminated events by SVD filtering and subsequent processing steps of spiking deconvolution and time-variant spectral whitening.

A Statistical Prediction Model of Speakers' Intentions in a Goal-Oriented Dialogue (목적지향 대화에서 화자 의도의 통계적 예측 모델)

  • Prediction technique of user's intention can be used as a post-processing method for reducing the search space of an automatic speech recognizer. Prediction technique of system's intention can be used as a pre-processing method for generating a flexible sentence. To satisfy these practical needs, we propose a statistical model to predict speakers' intentions that are generalized into pairs of a speech act and a concept sequence. Contrary to the previous model using simple n-gram statistic of speech acts, the proposed model represents a dialogue history of a current utterance to a feature set with various linguistic levels (i.e. n-grams of speech act and a concept sequence pairs, clue words, and state information of a domain frame). Then, the proposed model predicts the intention of the next utterance by using the feature set as inputs of CRFs (Conditional Random Fields). In the experiment in a schedule management domain, The proposed model showed the precision of 76.25% on prediction of user's speech act and the precision of 64.21% on prediction of user's concept sequence. The proposed model also showed the precision of 88.11% on prediction of system's speech act and the Precision of 87.19% on prediction of system's concept sequence. In addition, the proposed model showed 29.32% higher average precision than the previous model.

The fact that it is easy to attach and detach a several type of screen for getting the expected water quality is another advantage. Filter rotation speed at 1.0rpm is filter resistance 3.0bar and 3.0rpm is filter resistance 2.8bar. Filter out impurities from ballast water over 6.0rpm is filter resistance 26bar and 10rpm is filter resistance 2.5bar. Filtration system removal aquatic organism over $80{\mu}m$ in ballast water. This study shows that the filtration treatment system has a potential for the treatment of ballast water.

  • This paper is related to color image segmentation and textile texture mapping for the 2D virtual wearing system. The proposed system is characterized as virtually wearing a new textile pattern selected by user to the clothing shape section, based on its intensity difference map, segmented from a 2D clothes model image using color image segmentation technique. Regardless of color or intensity of model clothes, the proposed system is possible to virtually change the textile pattern or color with holding the illumination and shading properties of the selected clothing shape section, and also to quickly and easily simulate, compare, and select multiple textile pattern combinations for individual styles or entire outfits.   • It has been known that predicting stock price is very difficult due to a large number of known and unknown factors and their interactions, which could influence the stock price. However, we started with a simple assumption that good news about a particular company will likely to influence its stock price to go up and vice versa. This assumption was verified to be correct by manually analyzing how the stock prices change after the relevant news stories were released. This means that we will be able to predict the stock price change to a certain degree if there is a reliable method to classify news stories as either favorable or unfavorable toward the company mentioned in the news. To classify a large number of news stories consistently and rapidly, we developed and evaluated a natural language processing based multi-stage news classification system, which categorizes news stories into either good or bad. The evaluation result was promising as the automatic classification led to better than chance prediction of the stock price change.

Design of RF Front-end for High Precision GNSS Receiver (고정밀 위성항법 수신기용 RF 수신단 설계)

  • This paper describes the development of RF front.end equipment of a wide band high precision satellite navigation receiver to be able to receive the currently available GPS navigation signal and the GALILEO navigation signal to be developed in Europe in the near future. The wide band satellite navigation receiver with high precision performance is composed of L - band antenna, RF/IF converters for multi - band navigation signals, and high performance baseband processor. The L - band satellite navigation antenna is able to be received the signals in the range from 1.1 GHz to 1.6 GHz and from the navigation satellite positioned near the horizon. The navigation signal of GALILEO navigation satellite consists of L1, E5, and E6 band with signal bandwidth more than 20 MHz which is wider than GPS signal. Due to the wide band navigation signal, the IF frequency and signal processing speed should be increased. The RF/IF converter has been designed with the single stage downconversion structure, and the IF frequency of 140 MHz has been derived from considering the maximum signal bandwidth and the sampling frequency of 112 MHz to be used in ADC circuit. The final output of RF/IF converter is a digital IF signal which is generated from signal processing of the AD converter from the IF signal. The developed RF front - end has the C/N0 performance over 40dB - Hz for the - 130dBm input signal power and includes the automatic gain control circuits to provide the dynamic range over 40dB.

  • An Information Retrieval (IR) is to retrieve relevant information that satisfies user's information needs. However a major role of IR systems is not just the generation of sets of relevant documents, but to help determine which documents are most likely to be relevant to the given requirements. Various attempts have been made in the recent past to use syntactic analysis methods for the generation of complex construction that are essential for content identification in various automatic text analysis systems. Unfortunately, it is known that methods based on syntactic understanding alone are not sufficiently powerful to Produce complete analyses of arbitrary text samples. In this paper, we present a document ranking method based on two-level ranking. The first level is used to retrieve the documents, and the second level to reorder the retrieved documents. The main keywords used in the first level can be defined as nouns and/or compound nouns that possess good document discrimination powers. The sub-keywords used in the second level can be also defined as adjectives, adverbs, and/or verbs that are not main keywords, and function words. An empirical study was conducted from a Korean encyclopedia with 23,113 entries and 161 Korean natural language queries collected by end users. 850% of the natural language queries contained sub-keywords. The two-level document ranking methods provides significant improvement in retrieval effectiveness over traditional ranking methods.

  • 인터넷 사용자들의 기하급수적인 증가와 웹 페이지의 폭발적인 증가로 인하여 정보공유를 위한 인터넷에서 효율적으로 원하는 정보를 발견하고 이용하기에 매우 힘든 상황에 처해있다. 따라서, 이러한 문제점들을 근본적으로 해결하기 위한 노력의 일환으로 기계가 이해하고 추론할 수 있는 시맨틱 웹이 등장하였다. 시맨틱 웹과 관련된 여러 가지 기술들 중 시맨틱 웹 서비스는 사용자에게 현재의 인터넷 환경에서 제공할 수 있는 서비스보다 향상된 고품질의 서비스를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 삼고 있다. 이러한 시맨틱 웹 서비스는 웹 서비스의 발견, 실행 및 구성으로 구성된다. 본 논문에서는 시맨틱 웹 서비스를 자동화하기 위한 노력의 일환으로서 시맨틱 웹에서 웹 서비스를 구성하는 문제에 대하여 언급한다. 시맨틱 웹 서비스 구성문제는 사용자의 요구사항을 충족시키기 위하여 다양한 웹 서비스들을 조합하는 문제이다. 그러나, WSFL, X-LANG 및 BPEL4WS 그리고, DAML-S와 같은 웹 서비스 구성문제에 대한 일련의 노력들에서는 사용자 요구사항에 대한 검증이나 서비스의 품질에 대한 사항들을 확인 및 제공할 수 있는 방법들이 없다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 시맨틱 웹 서비스 구성문제와 관련된 상기와 같은 문제점들을 해결할 수 있는 방법론을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시된 방법론에서는 시맨틱 웹 구성문제를 제약만족문제로 변환함으로써 제약만족문제에 있어 늘리 알려진 다양한 알고리즘들을 활용할 수 있는 장점들이 있을 뿐만 아니라 사용자들의 요구사항에 대한 검증과 서비스의 품질을 확인할 수 있는 장점들이 있다.의 위상변화에 대한 적응성을 높일 수 있도록 한다.
