This paper presents a three dimensional automatic mesh generation scheme for the boundary element method, and this scheme can be applicable to practical problems of complex shape. The geometry of the problem is expressed as an assemblage of linear Coon's surfaces, and each surface is made up of four edge curves which are defined in the form of a parametric function. Curves are automatically segmented according to their characteristics. With these segments of curves, interior points and triangular mesh elements are generated in the parametric plane using Lindholm's method, and then their projection on the real surface forms the initial mesh. The refinement of initial mesh is performed so that the discrete triangular planes are close to the real continuous surfaces. The bisection method is used for the refinement. Finally, interior points in the refined mesh are rearranged so as to make each element be close with an equilateral triangle. An attempt has been made to apply the proposed method to a DY(Deflection Yoke) model.

The information management system for urban planning, urban management and related decision making is increasing an importance in recent years. Especially, the information about 3D buildings in urban area is necessary for urban management related precise location based service. However, it takes a lot of time, effort, and costs to produce 3D modeling data of buildings. These problems have been found in many studies, but the research to solve these problems is still necessary. In this study, we have tested an efficient 3D modeling method of building to solve these problems. SketchUp was used to test 3D modeling methods with OSM(OpenStreetMap) data. The other 3D modeling method using a digital map was tested. The 3D modeling of building data was efficient using PlaceMaker, which can use OSM data. In addition, modeling was possible through simple editing of the digital map and automatic building generation. The efficiency of the research results is presented by comparing with the traditional method based on the regulation and the stadard man power issued by Korean government. These two 3D modeling methods of building tested through the study can be used as basic data for related research and work. Additional studies should be conducted to improve the accuracy of the building model and determine how to obtain height data efficiently.

This paper proposes an efficient method for 3D modeling of a human face from trinocular images by reconstructing face surface using range data. By using a trinocular camera system, we mitigated the tradeoff between the occlusion problem and the range resolution limitation which is the critical limitation in binocular camera system. We also propose an MPC_MBS (Matching Pixel Count Multiple Baseline Stereo) area-based matching method to reduce boundary overreach phenomenon and to improve both of accuracy and precision in matching. In this method, the computing time can be reduced significantly by removing the redundancies. In the model generation sub-pixel accurate surface data are achieved by 2D interpolation of disparity values, and are sampled to make regular triangular meshes. The data size of the triangular mesh model can be controlled by merging the vertices that lie on the same plane within user defined error threshold.
In recent years, in the fields of smart cities and digital twins, research on model generation is increasing due to the advantage of acquiring actual 3D coordinates by using point clouds. In addition, there is an increasing demand for a solid model that can easily modify the shape and texture of the building. In this paper, we propose a method to create a clustered solid building model based on point cloud data. The proposed method consists of five steps. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a method to create a clustered solid building model based on point cloud data. The proposed method consists of five steps. In the first step, the ground points were removed through the planarity analysis of the point cloud. In the second step, building area was extracted from the ground removed point cloud. In the third step, detailed structural area of the buildings was extracted. In the fourth step, the shape of 3D building models with 3D coordinate information added to the extracted area was created. In the last step, a 3D building solid model was created by giving texture to the building model shape. In order to verify the proposed method, we experimented using point clouds extracted from unmanned aerial vehicle images using commercial software. As a result, 3D building shapes with a position error of about 1m compared to the point cloud was created for all buildings with a certain height or higher. In addition, it was confirmed that 3D models on which texturing was performed having a resolution of less than twice the resolution of the original image was generated.
Photogrammetry is a current method of GIS data acquisition. However, as a matter of fact, a large manpower and expenditure for making detailed 3D spatial information is required especially in urban areas where various buildings exist. There are no photogrammetric systems which can automate a process of spatial information acquisition completely. On the other hand, LiDAR has high potential of automating 3D spatial data acquisition because it can directly measure 3D coordinates of objects, but it is rather difficult to recognize the object with only LiDAR data, for its low resolution at this moment. With this background, we believe that it is very advantageous to integrate LiDAR data and stereo CCD images for more efficient and automated acquisition of the 3D spatial data with higher resolution. In this research, the automatic urban object recognition methodology was proposed by integrating ultra highresolution stereo images and LiDAR data. Moreover, a method to enable more reliable and detailed stereo matching method for CCD images was examined by using LiDAR data as an initial 3D data to determine the search range and to detect possibility of occlusions. Finally, intellectual DSMs, which were identified urban features with high resolution, were generated with high speed processing.
Nowadays major shipbuilding companies are trying to expand their business not only to shipbuilding but to offshore projects as well. DSME is one of them. DSME is trying to set up a flexible design and construction environment for shipbuilding and offshore construction in a single shipyard. The shipbuilding and offshore projects, however, have their unique technology but they need to be designed and constructed in one site. To support this new requirement, DSME has developed an integrated CAD system for ship and offshore projects. In this integrated design environment, the designers can design commercial ships and offshore projects in a flexible manner. Concurrent design is very important for ship and offshore design. As compared to the complexity of the product, the design period is quite short. In effect, the design system for the ship and offshore project has to support concurrent design. One essential point of concurrent design environment is a product model based design system. DSME has developed and implemented the 3D product model concurrent design environment based on Tribon M3. Tribon is a widely used CAD system in shipbuilding area that is developed by Tribon Solutions. DSME has both customized the Tribon system and developed in-house application systems to support its own design and production procedures. All the design objects are modeled in one common database to support concurrent design and accurate production. The major in-house development focused on the modeling automation and automatic drawing generation. During the drawing generation process many of the additional production information are also extracted from the 3D product model. In addition, several applications and functionalities have been developed to apply the shipbuilding based Tribon M3 system to offshore projects. The development of shape nesting, tubular connection, isometric drawing, grating nesting systems are the typical.

In construction work's process of a basic planning, we must carry out a topographical for construction reserved land and to the basis of this, production of profile is Indispensable factor for the purpose of every construction work such as road, rail way, canal and etc. From this research, the production of profile about construction reserved land, using topography information of numerical value topographical map produced by NGIS construction project, construct precision 3D topography model and from this, propose plans for utilizing by producing automatic profile. With the aim of this, abstract every layers of main facilities and altitude from numerical value topographical map and while producing 3D topography model by using this, we produce and product automatic profile from construct precision 3D topography. And about the produced profile's process, a topographical by mutual analysis was carried out to check whether the automatic produced profile's accuracy could be accepted at actual estimation and permissible accuracy. It is considered that the result of the research could be suggested as a new formation techniques concept which can reduce the designing time and expenses and increase the efficiency of planning in the basic design process for the construction.

This study focuses on developing a building object recognition technology for efficient use in the remodeling of buildings constructed without drawings. In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, smart technologies are being developed. This research contributes to the architectural field by introducing a deep learning-based method for automatic object classification and recognition, utilizing point cloud data. We use a TD3D network with voxels, optimizing its performance through adjustments in voxel size and number of blocks. This technology enables the classification of building objects such as walls, floors, and roofs from 3D scanning data, labeling them in polygonal forms to minimize boundary ambiguities. However, challenges in object boundary classifications were observed. The model facilitates the automatic classification of non-building objects, thereby reducing manual effort in data matching processes. It also distinguishes between elements to be demolished or retained during remodeling. The study minimized data set loss space by labeling using the extremities of the x, y, and z coordinates. The research aims to enhance the efficiency of building object classification and improve the quality of architectural plans by reducing manpower and time during remodeling. The study aligns with its goal of developing an efficient classification technology. Future work can extend to creating classified objects using parametric tools with polygon-labeled datasets, offering meaningful numerical analysis for remodeling processes. Continued research in this direction is anticipated to significantly advance the efficiency of building remodeling techniques.

Three dimensional shaded images are standard visualization method for CAD models on the computer screen. Therefore, much of the effort in the visualization of CAD models has been focused on how conveniently and realistically CAD models can be displayed on the screen. However, shaded 3D CAD data images captured from the screen may not be suitable for some application areas. Technical document, either in the paper or electronic form, can more clearly describe the shape and annotate parts of the model by using projected 2D line drawing format viewed from a user defined view direction. This paper describes an efficient method for generating such a 2D line drawing data in the vector format. The algorithm is composed of silhouette line detection, hidden line removal and cleaning processes.

Recently, due to the advanced computer technology, momental architectures have been designed and built using features that are very sophisticated. People's interest in free-form structural system has increased steadily not only nationwide, but also worldwide. However, there were many difficulties in the materialization of free-form structural system owing to the lack of technique and research. To solve this problem, this study performs the interface between the 3D modeling program and the optimization program. In the 3D modeling program, it is possible to automatic mesh generation and immediately to information extraction. It performs the shape optimization. Consequently, this research designs the example model and performs optimization in order to verify the developed interface module.
