Investigation on the Description Method of Extrusion Die Surface using B-Spline Surface Scheme (B-스플라인 곡면기법을 이용한 압출금형 곡면의 표현방법에 관한 연구)

  • To construct the extrusion die surface, a B-Spline surface scheme based on the cubic B-Spline curve interpolation method is proposed in the present work. The inlet and outlet profiles are described with B-Spline curves by using the centripetal method for uniform parameterization. The interior control points of surface are generated using the derivative characteristics of B-Spline curve. A complete B-Spline surface is constructed by using appropriate coordinate transformation and knot deletion. In the present study, a quantitative measure for the control of surface is suggested by introducing the tangential vector and inclination angles at the inlet and outlet sections. To verify the validity of the proposed method, automatic surface generation is carried out for the various types of extrusion die surface.

  • The paper introduces the system AUTO-CUT for the automatic generation of NC tapes for wire-cut EDM(Electrodischarge Machining) parts. The information input to the system is the description of the part geometries, the tool motions and the cutting conditions etc. The system generates CLDATA and machine control data. Also dynamic simulation of tool motions can be performed on the screen.

  • An automatic verification method has been studied to determine the safety and operability of programmable logic controller (PLC) based systems. For the systematic and efficient verification, we have developed a conversion method from relay ladder logic (RLL) to the verification system description. RLL is a common representation used to document PLC programs for the sequential logic of the system such as the safety interlocks and the startup/shutdown procedures. Once the modules are developed, complex RLLs can be represented by the combination of modules. As a result we can verify complex PLC systems using the verification method including RLL modules. The developed modules are used to verify alarm systems and show that the method is valid.

  • Mold base design is one of the most critical steps in production of plastic parts. This paper presents an efficient method for generating a 3D CAD library for injection mold base and mold components. In this paper, a new description language (DL)formats are proposed. These DL formats can represent the geometric feature, the variable dimensions and the assembly structures of mold base and its components. And the processes of adding the mold components and creating the mold assemblies can be performed very easily and efficiently by using DL scripts. Proposed method has been tested by implementation of 3D library with DL scripts and DL-interpreter with C language. The DL and interpreter are independent of CAD system. They were applied to the automatic mold base designing system which works on Unigraphics V15. The system is developed with UG API function under Windows-NT environment.

  • This paper describes a solid modeling system based on a systematic description of techniques for analyzing and understanding on engineering drawings. Main stress is placed on clarifying the difference between the drawing understanding and the drawing recognition. The former, in which we feel major interest, is intrinsically a difficult problem because it inherent contains combinatorial search to require more than polynomial time. Actually, understanding drawings is regarded as a process to recover the information lost in projection 3-D objects to 2-D drawings. But, solid modeling by automatic understanding of the given drawings is one of the promising approach, which is described precisely in the text. Reviewing the studies performed so far, we summarize the future direction of the project and inevitable open problems left.

  • 적합성 시험은 프로토콜 구현물인 IUT(Implementation Under Test)가 프로토콜 규격과 일치하는지를 검증하는 것으로, 이 적합성 시험의 질은 생성된 시험열에 의존한다. 기존에는 시험열 생성이 수작업으로 이루어지기 때문에 오류의 가능성을 내포한다. 본 논문에서는 자동화된 툴(tool)인 Design/CPN을 이용하여 SDL(Specification and Description Language)로 기술된 프로토콜의 시험열을 생성한다. SDL로 기술된 프로토콜을 자료흐름을 고려한 CPN(Colored Petri Nets)으로 변환 후 Design/CPN에 입력하여 자동 생성된 OG(Occurrence Graph)와 디스크립터 (descriptor)로부터 시험열을 생성함으로써, 기존의 시험열 생성 방법에 비해 오류 가능성을 줄일 수 있으며, 자료 흐름이 고려된 시험열을 얻을 수 있다.

  • 한국어 서답형 문항의 자동채점 프로그램을 개발하기 위해서는 모범답안, 오답, 부분점수 부여를 위한 세부적인 내용을 채점 기준표로 기술해야 한다. 자동채점에 필요한 구체적인 사항들을 기술하기 위하여 XML 형식으로 정답 템플릿을 정의하였다. 채점에 필요한 내용을 단위 개념으로 정의하고 이를 컴퓨터가 엑세스 가능한 형태의 정답 템플릿을 설계하였다. 정답 템플릿 형식에 맞게 편리하게 템플릿을 작성할 수 있는 작성 도구를 이용하여 학업 성취도평가 각 문항에 대한 채점 기준표를 정답 템플릿으로 작성하여 채점기준표를 작성하는 실험을 수행하였다.

Data Avaliability Scheduling for Synthesis Beyond Basic Block Scope

  • High-Level synthesis of digital circuits calls for automatic translation of a behavioral description to a structural design entity represented in terms of components and connection. One of the critical steps in high-level synthesis is to determine a particular scheduling algorithm that will assign behavioral operations to control states. A new scheduling algorithm called Data Availability Scheduling (DAS) for high-level synthesis is presented. It can determine an appropriate scheduling algorithm and minimize the number of states required using data availability and dependency conditions extracted from the behavioral code, taking into account of states required using data availability and dependency conditions extracted from the behavioral code, taking into account resource constraint in each control state. The DAS algorithm is efficient because data availability conditions, and conditional and wait statements break the behavioral code into manageable pieces which are analyzed independently. The output is the number of states in a finite state machine and shows better results than those of previous algorithms.

  • In this paper, we present stereoscopic conversion based on movie shot information. To overcome the low stereoscopic quality of automatic stereo conversion technologies, the usage of the shot type is expected to provide more satisfactory stereoscopic perception. In general, movie clips are produced with a variety of shot techniques such as long shot, closeup shot, medium shot, etc. Each shot has its own characteristics that can be utilized during the conversion process. Furthermore, description sceme for shot and camera information is presented in XML. XML shot editor generates XML shot data. and conversion module parses such data and converts 2D image into stereoscopic image.

  • This paper presents a methodology for automatic feature extraction used in a vision system of FMC (flexible Manufacturing Cell). To implement a robot vision system, it is important to make a feature database for object recognition, location, and orientation. For industrial applications, it is necessary to extract feature information from CAD database since the detail information about an object is described in CAD data. Generally, CAD description is three dimensional information but single image data from camera is two dimensional information. Because of this dimensiional difference, many problems arise. Our primary concern in this study is to convert three dimensional data into two dimensional data and to extract some features from them and store them into the feature database. Secondary concern is to construct feature selecting system that can be used for part recognition in a given set of objects.
