  • This paper deals with a novel autocalibration method of three-axis micromachined accelerometers applied to a new digital intelligent putter for golfers. This putter can help golfers monitor and analyze their putting posture and therefore modify their putting action to get better score and enjoy their lives through golf. The micromachined accelerometers to get information of the motion are the essential part of the putter to measure the three-axis acceleration as accurately as possible. This paper presents an efficient autocalibration algorithm to find the offset and sensitivity of accelerometers by only using the static measurement data at six different positions. The experimental results on the developed putters show the validity of the proposed algorithm for the new smart putter.

  • In this paper. we propose a new autocalibration algorithm. 3D-based image synthesis is roughly divided into two methods. One is using autocalibration method, and the other is using real 3D data like pattern information. The former is more progressive method. because there is no constraint or information about the scenes. Therefore autocalibration method has very difficult progress dealing with complicate non-lineal equations. Nowadays, constraints of camera intrinsic parameters are used in many researches. Therefore we solve the linear equations instead of complicate non-lineal equations. For example, to fix principal point of camera is a representative method.

  • In this paper the BER consideration of a quadrature receiver that has an autocalibration method is considered. The analysis is based on the derivation of the statistical characteristics of the imbalances in gain and phase between in-phase and quadrature components that may cause severe performance degradation of the receiver. The density. mean and variance functions of the estimates of gain and phase imbalances are discussed. Then it is shown that the estimates are asymptotically minimum variance unbiased with respect to the integration time in sampling. A brief consideration on the BER calculation follows.

  • This paper deals with the statistical analysis of an autocalibration procedure for the gain and phase imbalances between the in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) components in quadrature receivers. In real implementation, the imbalances of the gain and phase exist and degrade the performance of the receiver. In this paper we investigate the statistical characteristic of the estimates in an on-line imbalance estimation method for the receiver under the assumption of an additive white Gaussian noise environment.
