  • In this paper, intrusion detection technique based on the sound field variation of audio frequency in the security space is proposed. The sound field formed by sound source can be detected with the microphone when the obstacle or intruder is positioned. The sound field variation due to the intruder is mainly caused by the interference of audio wave. With the help of numerical simulation of sound field formations, the increase or decrease of sound pressure level is analyzed not only by the obstacle, but also by the intruder. Even the microphone is positioned behind the source, sound pressure level can be increased or decreased due to the interference of sound wave. Frequency response test is performed with Gaussian white noise signal to get the whole frequency response from 0 to half of sampling frequency. There are three security cases. Case 1 is the situation of empty space with and without intruder, case 2 is the situation of blocking obstacle with and without intruder, and case 3 is the situation of side blocking obstacle with and without intruder. At each case, the frequency response is obtained first at the security space without intruder, and second with intruder. From the experiment, intruder size of diameter of 50 cm pillar can be successfully detected with the proposed technique. Moreover, the case 2 and case 3 bring about bigger sound field variation. It means that the proposed technique have the potential of more credible security guarantee in real situation.

  • A main objective of audio equalizer is for user to tailor acoustic frequency response to increase sound comfort and example applications of audio equalizer includes large-scale audio system to portable audio such as mobile MP3 player. Up to now, all the audio equalizer requires manual setting to equalize frequency bands to create suitable sound quality for each genre of music. In this paper, we propose an intelligent audio graphic equalizer system that automatically classifies the music genre using music content analysis and then the music sound is boosted with the given frequency gains according to the classified musical genre when playback. In order to reproduce comfort sound, the musical genre is determined based on two-step hierarchical algorithm - coarse-level and fine-level classification. It can prevent annoying sound reproduction due to the sudden change of the equalizer gains at the beginning of the music playback. Each stage of the music classification experiments shows at least 80% of success with complete genre classification and equalizer operation within 2 sec. Simple S/W graphical user interface of 3-band automatic equalizer is implemented using visual C on personal computer.

  • A Low jitter dual output frequency synthesizer for smart audio devices is described in this paper. It has been fabricated in a 1.8 V Dongbu $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS process. Output frequency is controlled by 3 rd order Sigma-Delta Modulation and digital divider. The frequency synthesizer has a size of $0.6mm^2$, frequency range of 0.6-200 MHz, loop bandwidth of 350 kHz, and rms jitter of 11.4 ps-21.6 ps.

  • This paper presents a statistical technique for audio watermarking. We describe the application of the promising public key watermarking method to the patchwork algorithm. Its detection process does not need the original content nor the secret key used in the embedding process. Special attention is given to statistical method working in the frequency domain. We will present a solution of robust watermarking of audio data. In this scheme, an extension of patchwork audio watermarking is presented which enables public detection of the watermark. Experimental results show good robustness of the approach against MP3 compression and other common signal processing manipulations.

  • The DSD(Direct Stream Digital) encoder, which is a standard for SACD(Super Audio Compact Disc) proposed by Sony and philips, uses 1 bit representation with a sampling frequency of 2.8224MHz (64${\times}$44.1kHz). For multi-rate PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) input such as 8${\sim}$192kHz, a external sample-rate converter is necessary to the DSD encoder. This paper has been proposed a digital mter structure composed of sample-rate converter and interpolaton filter for the DSD encoder with multi-rate (8${\sim}$192kHz) PCM input, without a external sample-rate converter.

  • A multi-channel audio CODEC with inter-channel interference suppression is proposed, in which channel switching noise-referred sampling error is significantly reduced. It also supports a coarse/fine mode operation for fast frequency tracking with good harmonic performance. The proposed multi-channel audio CODEC was designed in a 65 nm CMOS process. Measured results indicated that SNR and SNDR of ADC were 93 dB and 84dB, respectively, with SNDR improved by 43 dB. Those of DAC were 96 dB and 87 dB, respectively, with SNDR improved by 45 dB when all the channels are running independently.

  • The rapid development of digital media and communication network urgently brings about the need of data certification technology to protect IPR (Intellectual property right). This paper proposed a new watermarking method for embedding owner's audio signal. Because this method uses an audio signal as a watermark to be embedded, it is very useful to claim the ownership aurally. And it has the advantage of restoring audio signal modified and especially removed by image removing attacks by applying our LBX(Linear Bit-expansion) interleaving. Three basic stages of our watermarking include: 1) Encode . analogue owner's audio signal by PCM and create new digital audio watermark, 2) Interleave an audio watermark by our LBX; and 3) Embed the interleaved audio watermark in the low frequency band on DTn (Discrete Haar Wavelet Transform) of image. The experimental results prove that this method is resistant to lossy JPEG compression as standard image compression and especially to cropping and rotation which remove a part of Image.

  • A track-circuit device exploits two rails as a conductor of an electrical circuit. It detects the presence or absence of the trains with variation of received level when wheel sets of the train shunt rails together. So, it plays an important role in train operation. Non-insulated audio frequency(AF) track-circuit device can separate the rails into tracks by insulated joints without physically cutting the rails. And it transmits AF signals at track boundary, of which frequency is different between adjacent tracks. It has been employed at station-to-station section of domestic high speed rail, general rail, and subway. But It was not used at station yard of complicated general railway where lots of branches exist. In this paper, we consider current development status of non-insulated AF track-circuit device for the use of station yard.

  • In TV sound system, loudspeakers are subject to severe size constraints. The small size of the transducer affects the low frequency signal performance of the system. Bass signal performance contributes significantly to the user perceived sound quality and a good bass signal reproduction is essential. Increasing the sound energy in the bass signal range is an unviable solution since the gain required are exceedingly high and signal distortion occurs because of the speaker overload. Recently methods are being proposed to invoke low frequency illusion using psychoacoustic phenomena of the missing fundamental. This paper proposes a simple and effective signal processing method to create bass signal illusion in TV speakers using the missing fundamental effect, at a complexity of 12 MIPS on Motorola 56371 audio DSP.

  • Ultrasound Doppler Diagnostic System utilizes the Doppler effect for measurement of blood velocity. The sign of the Doppler frequency shift represents blood flow direction. Pulsed Doppler System uses Phase detector and zerocrossing method to produce simultaneous independent audio and velocity signals for forward and reverse blood flow direction in the time domain, had been fabricated. But time-domain analyzing such as audio evaluation and zerocrossing detection for instantaneous and mean frequency measurement doesn't, provide both an accurate and quantitative result. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt frequency domain technique to improve system performance. In this paper, we describe a unit which is composed of Pulsed Doppler System and real-time spectrum analyzer (installed TMS 32010 DSP Chip). This unit shows time-dependent spectrum variation and mean velocity of blood Signal.
