  • Various supplementary authentication methods are used to supplement user authentication and authorization provided by existing password verification online1. In recent years, authentication and authorization methods using user attribute information have been studied and utilized in various services. User attribute information can be divided into static information and dynamic information. The existing methods focus on research to identify users using dynamic information or to generate challenge questions for user reauthentication. Static information such as a user's home address, school, company, etc. is associated with dynamic information such as location information. We propose a method to verify user attribute information by using the association between two attribute information. For this purpose, the static information of the user is verified by using the user's location record which is dynamic information. The experiment of this paper collects the dynamic information of the actual user and extracts the static information to verify the user attributes. And we implemented the user attribute information authentication system using the proposal verification method and evaluated the utility based on applicability, convenience, and security.

  • In the construction industry, Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) is considered to be the most suitable approach and determining the attribute weights is an important CBR problem. In this paper, a method is proposed for determining attribute weights that are calculated with attribute relation. The basic items of consideration were qualitative and quantitative influence factors. These quantitative factors were related to the qualitative factors to develop a Cost Drivers-structural equation model which can be used to estimate construction cost by considering attribute weight. The process of determining the attribute weight-structural equation model consists o 4 phases: selecting the predominant Cost Drivers for the SEM, applying the Cost Driers in the SEM, determining and verifying the attribute weights and deriving the Cost Estimation Equation. This study develops a cost estimating technique that complements the CBR method with a Cost Drivers-structural equation model which can be actively used during the schematic estimating phases of construction.

  • Shewhart-type control charts have historically been used for attribute data, though they have ARL biased property and even are unable to detect the improvement of a process with some process parameters. So far most efforts have been made to improve the performance of attribute control charts in terms of faster detection of special causes without increasing the rates of false alarm. In this paper, control limits are proposed that yield an ARL (nearly) unbiased chart for attributes. Optimal design is also proposed for attribute control charts under a natural sense of criterion.

  • The effective way to apply incremental attribute grammar to a complex language process is the use of optimized algorithm. In optimized algorithm for incremental attribute grammar, the new input attribute tree should be exactly compared with the previous input attribute tree, in order to determine which subtrees from the old should be used in constructing the new one. In this paper the new optimized algorithm was reconstructed by analyzing the algorithm suggested by Carle and Pollock, and a generation process of new attribute tree d’copy was added. Through the performance evaluation for the suggested matching algorithm, the run time is approximately improved by 19.5%, compared to the result of existing algorithm.

  • For an efficient role based access control in highly distributed computing environment to reduce management cost, we utilize attribute certificates. Especially highly distributed computing environments such as ubiquitous computing environments which cannot have global or broad control, need another attribute certificate management technique. The techniques for transmission of the attribute certificates and management of the group keys should be considered to reduce management cost. For better performance we structure attribute certificates. We group roles and make the role group relation tree. It results secure and efficient role renewing and distribution. For scalable attribute certificate distribution, multicasting packets are used. We take into account the packet loss and quantifying performance enhancements of structuring attribute certificates.

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the tourists' preference for alternative restaurants with different combinations of 4 attribute levels: origin description, food type, price and service guarantee. A total of 210 questionnaires were completed from tourists who visited Kwangyang, Suncheon and Yeosu during Jan. 2 - Jan. 15, 2007. Conjoint experiment method was used to develop hypothetical restaurants. Ordinal probit model was used to measure the effects of attribute levels on the tourists' preference. Results of the study demonstrated that the ordinal probit model analysis result for the data indicated excellent model fit. The effects of attribute levels (origin description, traditional food, fusion food, price, service guarantee) on the tourists' preference were statistically significant. As expected, estimates of marginal willingness to pay for origin description(3.063), food type(2.349), and service guarantee(2.356) were statistically significant. Moreover, tourists were more willing to pay for origin description than other attribute levels. Tourists also considered the origin description as the very important attribute. In conclusion, based on conjoint analysis, a model was proposed of marginal willingness to pay of attribute levels. It should be noted that the original model was modified and should, preferably, be validated in future research.

  • In relational database management systems(RDBMS), a table consIn relational database management systems(RDBMS), a table consists of sets of records which are composed of a set of attributes. The number of distinct values(NDV) of an attribute denotes the number of distinct attribute values that actually appear in the database records, and is widely used in optimizing queries and supporting statistic queries. Object-relational database management systems(ORBBMSS), however, support the inheritance between tables which enforces an attribute defined in a super-table to be inherited in sub-tables automatically. Hence, in ORDBMSS, not only NDV of an attribute In a single table but also NDV of an attribute in multiple tables(HNDV) is needed. In this paper, we propose a method that calculates HNDV using arrays of attribute value intervals. In this method, an array of attribute value intervals is created for an attribute of interest In each table in a table hierarchy, and HNDV can be calculated or estimated by merging the arrays of attribute value intervals. The proposed method accurately calculates HNDV using small additional storage space and is efficient for an environment where only some of the tables in a table hierarchy are frequently updated.

  • Evaluating environmental impacts of regional development projects has critical importance in environmental management aspect. This paper uses multi-attribute utility theory as a basis for obtaining a value index to assess the environmental impacts and applies the theory to a specific Korean case study. To structure and quantify basic values for the assessment, we elicited important attributes, then refined and structured them into a hierarchy. An environmental multi-attribute index is constructed as a multi-attribute utility function, based on value judgments provided by a group of technical experts, policy makers, and a decision-maker at Korean Ministry of Environment. The implications of the results are also discussed. We found that the work and results can provide valuable insights for assessment of environmental consequences.

  • We evaluated the efficiencies of applying attribute selection methods and prior discretization to supervised learning, modelled by C4.5 and Naive Bayes. Three databases were obtained from UCI data archive, which consisted of continuous attributes except for one decision attribute. Four methods were used for attribute selection : MDI, ReliefF, Gain Ratio and Consistency-based method. MDI and ReliefF can be used for both continuous and discrete attributes, but the other two methods can be used only for discrete attributes. Discretization was performed using the Fayyad and Irani method. To investigate the effect of noise included in the database, noises were introduced into the data sets up to the extents of 10 or 20%, and then the data, including those either containing the noises or not, were processed through the steps of attribute selection, discretization and classification. The results of this study indicate that classification of the data based on selected attributes yields higher accuracy than in the case of classifying the full data set, and prior discretization does not lower the accuracy.

  • These day, Internet Recruiting needs negotiation of recruiting items. So in this paper, Internet Recruiting Negotiation System(IRNS) proposes multilateral negotiation that substitutes applicants and employers. Previous NSS uses preference value of multi-attribute and sequential negotiation. But proposed IRNS uses parallel negotiation of multi-attribute. parallel negotiation supplies multi-attribute negotiation including single-attribute and results of parallel negotiation. This paper proposes effective negotiation using weight strategy of multi-attribute.
