We investigated the characteristics of the nonlinear magneto-optic effect (NMOE) depend on the transitions, the laser intensity and the temperature of the vapor cell, in the $D_1$ transition of $^{87}Rb$ atoms by using the Rb vapor cell contained with buffer gas of Ne 6.7 kPa. The size and the width of NMOE signal were increased according to the light intensity and temperature in the transition of F=2$\to$F'=2. However, In the case of using the F=2$\to$F'=1 transition, the size of the signal could be increased according to the light intensity without additional broadening of the width. We confirmed that the sensitivity of detecting small magnetic flux improved in this transition, and explained these effects by the different of the CPT configuration between Zeeman sublevels. At the optimal condition in experiment, the sensitivity of this system was evaluated less then $70pT/\sqrt{Hz}$.

Recently, Fe/Si multilayered films (MLF) have been a focus of interest due to the strong antiferromagnetic (AF) coupling observed in such kind of MLF originates from the same nature as in the metal/metal MLF. In particular, a question of whether the spacer layer in the Fe/Si MLF is metallic or semiconducting is of interest. In spite of various experimental techniques envolved in the study, the chemical composition and the properties of the interfacial regions in the MLF exhibiting the AF coupling is still questionable. The nature of the AF coupling and the interfacial properties of Fe/Si MLF are investigated in this study. A series of Fe/Si MLF with a fixed nominal thickness of Fe(3nm) and a variable thickness of Sk(1.0-2.2nm) were deposited by RF-sputtering onto glass substrates at room temperature. The atomic structures and the actual sublayer thicknesses of the Fe/Si MLF are investigated by using x-ray diffraction. The magnetic-field dependence of the equatorial Kerr effect clearly shows an appearance of the AF coupling between Fe sublayers at tsi = 1.5 - 1.8 nm. the drastic discrepancies between the experimental magnetooptical (MO) and optical properties, and based on the assumption of sharp interfaces between Fe and Si sublayers leads to a conclusion that pure si is absent in the AF-coupled Fe/Si MLF. Introducing in the model nonmagnetic semiconducting FeSi alloy layers between Fe and Si sublayers or as spacer between pure Fe sublayers only slightly improves the agreement between model and experiment. A reasonable agreement between experimental and simulated MO spectra was reached with using the fitted optical properties for the spacer with a typical metallic type of behavior. The results of the magnetic properties measured by vibrating sample magnetometer and magnetic circular dichroism are also analyzed in connection with the MO and optical properties.

In this study, heavy rare earth garnet $Tb_2Bi_1Ga_1Fe_4O_{12}$ powders were fabricated by a sol-gel and vacuum annealing process. The crystal structure was found to be single-phase garnet with a space group of Ia3d. The lattice constant $a_0$ was determined to be 12.465 ${\AA}$. From the analysis of the vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) hysteresis loop at room temperature, the saturation magnetization and coercivity of the sample are 7.64 emu/g and 229 Oe, respectively. The N$\acute{e}$el temperature($T_N$) was determined to be 525 K. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectrum of $Tb_2Bi_1Ga_1Fe_4O_{12}$ at room temperature consists of 2 sets of 6 Lorentzians, which is the pattern of single-phase garnet. From the results of the M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectrum at room temperature, the absorption area ratios of Fe ions on 24d and 16a sites are 74.7% and 25.3%(approximately 3:1), respectively. These results show that all of the non-magnetic Ga atoms occupy the 16a site by a vacuum annealing process. Absorption area ratios of Fe ions are dependent not only on a sintering condition but also on the temperature of the sample. It can then be interpreted that the Ga ion distribution is dependent on the temperature of the sample. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer measurement was carried out in order to investigate the atomic migration in $Tb_2Bi_1Ga_1Fe_4O_{12}$.
In our study, the Hanle spectrum and nonlinear magneto-optic effect (NMOE) signals were observed as a function of magnetic field on $D_1$ line of $^{87}Rb$ atoms contained in a paraffin coated vapor cell. We observed the double structure from the Hanle and the NMOE spectrum in the paraffin coated Rb vapor cell. The narrow spectral width of the narrow resonance signal is approximately 1 kHz and the magnitude is approximately 10 percent of the total spectrum. Also, the NMOE signals corresponding to the Hanle configuration consisted of two different dispersion-like features. At the near zero magnetic field, a sharp slope signal was centered, and its value was 10 mV/${\mu}T$ with laser power was $200{\mu}W$.
$Ni_{0.65}Zn_{0.35}Fe_2O_4$thin films were prepared by using a sol-gel method. Their crystallographic, dielectric and magnetic properties were investigated as a function of Cu contents by means of an X-ray diffractometer (XRD), X-ray reflectivity, LCZ meter (NF2232), a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and an atomic force microscope (AFM). From typical C-V measurements for $Ni_{0.65}Zn_{0.35}Fe_2O_4$ thin films on p-type silicon substrate, the surface charge density was calculated as 1.4 ${\mu}$C/$m^2$. The dielectric constant evaluated from the capacitance at the accumulation state was 28. The high $H_{c}$ and low $M_{sat}$ at x=0.0 and 0.1 were due to the growth of the ${\alpha}$-$Fe_2O_3$ phase having antiferromagnetic properties. The rapidly decreased $H_{c}$ and increased $M_{sat}$ at x=0.2 and 0.3 can be explained that the ${\alpha}$-$Fe_2O_3$ phases have completely disappeared at x=0.3 and so, non-magnetic defects are minimized. The $M_{sat}$ was slightly decreased and the $H_{c}$ was increased above at x=0.3 because the increase of grain boundary due to smaller grain size acts as defects during magnetization process.

Drone based Magnetic Anomaly Detection measure a magnetic anomaly signal from the ferromagnetic target on the ground. We conduct a magnetic anomaly detection with 9 ferromagnetic targets on the ground. By removing the magnetic field measured in the absence of ferromagnetic targets from the experimental value, the magnetic anomaly signal is clearly measured at an altitude of 100 m. We analyze the signal characteristics by the ferromagnetic target through simulation using COMSOL multiphysics. The simulation results are within the GPS error range of the experimental results.
$Y_{3-x}La_xFe_5O_{12}$ (x=0.0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0) powders and thin films were fabricated by a sol-gel method and their magnetic properties and crystal structure were investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and Mossbauer spectroscopy. XRD and Mossbauer spectroscopy measurements show that garnet powders annealed at 900 $^{\circ}C$ for 8 hours were single-phased and that thin films fired at 800 $^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours were crystallized without any preferred direction. X-ray diffraction patterns of $Y_{3-x}La_xFe_5O_{12}$ powders annealed at 1000 $^{\circ}C$ had only peaks of the garnet structure in case of x$\leq$0.75 but those of $Y_2LaFe_5O_{12}$ powders consisted of peaks from garnets and $LaFeO_3$. Mossbauer sepectra of garnet powders grown by the sol-gel method had a similar shape of those of powders grown by a conventional ceramic method. Grain sizes of garnet powders were 200~300 nm and the averaged surface roughness was 3.17 nm. Results of VSM measurements show the powders and thin films had soft magnetic properties and that the garnet powders had the largest saturation magnetization, 30 emu/g, and the lowest coercivity, 52 Oe.
Magnetic nanoparticles can be used for a variety of biomedical applications. They can be used in the targeted delivery of therapeutic agents in vivo, in the hyperthermic treatment of cancers. in magnetic resonance (MR) imaging as contrast agents and in the biomagnetic separations of biomolecules. We have synthesized magnetite $(Fe_3O_4)$ nanoparticles using chemical coprecipitation technique with sodium oleate as surfactant. Nanoparticle size can be varied from 2 to 8nm by controlling the sodium oleate concentration. Magnetite phase nanoparticles could be observed from X-ray diffraction. Magnetic colloid suspensions containing particles with sodium oleate and chitosan have been prepared.
