  • These materials in architecturally glass or metal have weaknesses such as inadequate insulating quality, combustibility and toxic gases in fires substance. However, Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete(ALC) has excellent thermal insulation properties and seem to possess the superb insulating quality as substitute of existing exterior materials. This research is to compare experimentally to the kind of the strength properties of ALC materials which mixed with blast furnace slag pounder and silica fume. For the purpose of increasing the strength, the plastic states of ALC evaluate the physical characteristics as microstructure and strength according to various specific gravity. According to the quicklime quantity the compressive strength is proportionate depend on the absolute dried specific gravity. When not putting in 10% quicklime, the compressive strength appeared most lowly with 14.0MPa. When putting in the quicklime, the strength appeared higher with 15.1MPa. And strength of specimen containing 2.25% silica fume is 15.6MPa increased 10.3% than reference specimen 14.0MPa.

  • Objective: This study investigated direct and indirect influences of fathers' parenting involvement on maternal parenting competence by exploring pathways between fathers' parenting involvement, maternal inner strength, and maternal parenting competence. Methods: A total of 329 mothers with 3-year-old children responded to online survey questionnaires, which included questions about fathers' parenting involvement, maternal inner strength, and maternal parenting competence. The data was analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficients and Structural Equation Modeling. Results: It was observed that maternal inner strength perfectly mediated the association between father's parenting involvement and maternal parenting competence. More concretely, a direct effect of fathers' parenting involvement on maternal parenting competence was not found. It was also found that fathers' parenting involvement effects maternal parenting competence indirectly. The effect of fathers' parenting involvement on maternal inner strength was the greatest among all associations between fathers' parenting involvement, maternal inner strength, and maternal parenting competence. Conclusion/Implications: These findings have insights for research and practice, which emphasize the important considerations that enhancing maternal inner strength and the power of fathers' parenting involvement on maternal inner strength should be emphasized in order to improve maternal parenting competence.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to assess hand grip strength and femoral neck bone mineral density levels among Korean fishery workers and investigate their association. Methods: Hand grip strength and femoral neck bone mineral density were measured in a survey and health examination conducted in 2021 among fishery workers in a southern region of South Korea. Covariates including gender, age, education level, income level, smoking behavior, drinking behavior, family history of hip fractures, use of calcium and vitamin D supplements, hypertension, diabetes, regular exercise, and body mass index were investigated. Multiple regression analysis was employed to assess the association between hand grip strength and femoral neck bone mineral density. Results: Among 147 fishery workers, 8.16% exhibited low hand grip strength levels indicative of possible sarcopenia, and a significant association was found between low hand grip strength and decreased femoral neck bone mineral density (β = -89.14, 95% CI = -160.50, -17.78). Additionally, factors such as women gender, advanced age, family history of hip fractures, and a body mass index below 25 kg/m2 were associated with decreased femoral neck bone mineral density. In the subgroup analysis by gender, a correlation between low hand grip strength and decreased femoral neck bone mineral density was observed only in men. Conclusions: Further research is needed to explore various determinants and intervention strategies to prevent musculoskeletal disorders among fishery workers, ultimately enhancing their quality of life and well-being.

  • In case of rectangular latticed pattern which shearing rigidity is very small, it has a concern to drop Buckling-strength considerably by external force. So, by means of system to increase buckling-strength, there is a method of construction that lattice of dome is reinforced by braced member. In a case like this, shearing rigidity of braced member increase buckling-strength of the whole of structure and can be designed economically from the viewpoint of practice. Therefore, this paper is aimed at investigating how much does rigidity of braced member united with latticed member bearing principal stress of dome increase buckling-strength of the whole of structure. the subject of study is rectangular latticed domes that are a set of 2-way lattice dome which grid is simple and number of member gathering at junction is small. Analysis method is based on FEM dealing with the geometrically nonlinear deflection problems.

  • In order to improve the strength of paper, mixing ratio of Sw-BKP and Hw-BKP and PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) fibers dosage were investigated. When the Sw-BKP fraction was increased, strength properties were increased because of average fibers length increased. When PVA fraction increased, paper strength was increased, but there was dissolution of PVA in water. The reason for improving handsheet strength that contained PVA was due to increased bonding action between the fibers by the PVA. The addition of PVA to kraft pulp would be helpful for packaging paper materials to increase strength and fracture toughness.

  • As a first step to apply PVAm (polyvinylamine) on packaging paper by surface treatment, three types of linerboards were impregnated with PVAm solution. The effect of PVAm pick-up on strength properties of linerboard was investigated. The pick-up of PVAm was controlled by varying concentration of PVAm solution. It was found that dry tensile strength, tensile energy absorption, burst strength and compressive strength of linerboard were increased by applying PVAm. In addition, wet tensile strength was significantly improved with increasing PVAm pick-up. However, folding endurance was found to be decreased with increasing PVAm pick-up.

  • Building on the growing literature on how physical bodily expressions influence psychological processes, the authors propose that exerting physical strength decreases risk perceptions and increases preference for risky options by increasing perceptions of control or agency. The present research is based on the belief of "no pain, no gain", that when an individual exerts physical strength and effort, he believes he can be the agent in bringing about the desired outcome. Because of this automatic association between exerting physical strength and the sense of being in control of the outcome, the authors hypothesize that even in situations where the outcome is determined by chance and luck, individuals exerting effort feel they have more control and thus choose riskier, but more desirable, options. Furthermore, this research clarifies the distinction between physical exertion of strength, high- and low-power poses, and psychological power.
