  • Objectives: In this study, we conducted an exploratory analysis of the current media trends on schizophrenia using text-mining methods. Methods: First, web-crawling techniques extracted text data from 575 news articles in 10 major newspapers between 2018 and 2019, which were selected by searching "schizophrenia" in the Naver News. We had developed document-term matrix (DTM) and/or term-document matrix (TDM) through pre-processing techniques. Through the use of DTM and TDM, frequency analysis, co-occurrence network analysis, and topic model analysis were conducted. Results: Frequency analysis showed that keywords such as "police," "mental illness," "admission," "patient," "crime," "apartment," "lethal weapon," "treatment," "Jinju," and "residents" were frequently mentioned in news articles on schizophrenia. Within the article text, many of these keywords were highly correlated with the term "schizophrenia" and were also interconnected with each other in the co-occurrence network. The latent Dirichlet allocation model presented 10 topics comprising a combination of keywords: "police-Jinju," "hospital-admission," "research-finding," "care-center," "schizophrenia-symptom," "society-issue," "family-mind," "woman-school," and "disabled-facilities." Conclusion: The results of the present study highlight that in recent years, the media has been reporting violence in patients with schizophrenia, thereby raising an important issue of hospitalization and community management of patients with schizophrenia.

  • This research aims to identify startup trends by analyzing a large number of news articles through semantic network analysis. Using the BIGKinds article analysis service provided by the Korea Press Foundation, 330,628 news articles from 19 newspapers from January 2013 to December 2022 were comprehensively analyzed. The study focused on exploring the changes in key issues over the past decade, considering the impact of the social environment and global economic trends on entrepreneurship. We compared the number of news articles and changes in issues before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and visualized entrepreneurship trends through frequency analysis, relationship analysis, and correlation analysis. The results of the study showed that the top keywords for entrepreneurship-related words are startup activation and commercialization, and the correlation between COVID-19 and entrepreneurship keywords is almost negligible in a linear sense, but the number of news articles decreased during the pandemic, which has an impact. In particular, the most frequently mentioned keywords are Ministry of SMEs and Startups, place is the United States, and person is limited. The agency was the SBA, and the entrepreneurship sector is more affected by social issues than any other sector, with the important characteristics of increased frequency of prompt access. This study supplies essential basic data for understanding and exploring issues and events related to entrepreneurship and suggests future research topics in the field.

  • In this paper, we propose the technique of optimal search keyword extraction and retrieval for news article classification. The proposed technique was verified as an example of identifying trends related to North Korean construction. A representative Korean media platform, BigKinds, was used to select sample articles and extract keywords. The extracted keywords were vectorized using word embedding and based on this, the similarity between the extracted keywords was examined through cosine similarity. In addition, words with a similarity of 0.5 or higher were clustered based on the top 10 frequencies. Each cluster was formed as 'OR' between keywords inside the cluster and 'AND' between clusters according to the search form of the BigKinds. As a result of the in-depth analysis, it was confirmed that meaningful articles appropriate for the original purpose were extracted. This paper is significant in that it is possible to classify news articles suitable for the user's specific purpose without modifying the existing classification system and search form.

  • Intellectual structure analysis, which quantitatively identifies the structure, characteristics, and sub-domains of fields, has rapidly increased in recent years. Analysis techniques traditionally used to conduct intellectual structure analysis research include bibliographic coupling analysis, co-citation analysis, co-occurrence analysis, and author bibliographic coupling analysis. This study proposes a novel intellectual structure analysis method, Keyword Bibliographic Coupling Analysis (KBCA). The Keyword Bibliographic Coupling Analysis (KBCA) is a variation of the author bibliographic coupling analysis, which targets keywords instead of authors. It calculates the number of references shared by two keywords to the degree of coupling between the two keywords. A set of 1,366 articles in the field of 'Open Data' searched in the Web of Science were collected using the proposed KBCA technique. A total of 63 keywords that appeared more than 7 times, extracted from 1,366 article sets, were selected as core keywords in the open data field. The intellectual structure presented by the KBCA technique with 63 key keywords identified the main areas of open government and open science and 10 sub-areas. On the other hand, the intellectual structure network of co-occurrence word analysis was found to be insufficient in the overall structure and detailed domain structure. This result can be considered because the KBCA sufficiently measures the relationship between keywords using the degree of bibliographic coupling.

  • Radiation-induced second malignancies (RISM) is one of the important late side effects of radiation therapy and has an impact on optimal treatment decision-making. Many factors contribute to the development of RISM such as age at radiation, dose and volume of irradiated area, type of irradiated organ and tissue, radiation technique and individual and family history of cancer. Exact mechanism of RISM is unknown. But nowadays, it is a growing concern in oncology because of the increased number of cancer survivors and efforts are being made to prevent or decrease the incidence of RISM. The primary search for articles was carried via Google Scholar and PubMed with keywords included 'radiation induced malignancies, second malignancies, and chemotherapy induced malignancies'. Additional papers were found through references from relevant articles. In this review article, we have discussed about the pathogenesis, factors contributing to RISM, screening and prevention strategies of RISM.
