Art-Make-up has resulted in occupying one of the central areas of this culture. Art Make-up is currently undergoing various changes. The viewpoint of modern make-up is the infiniteness of emotion such as the subjectively individualized expressions and aesthetic values breaking with conventional thought. The most significant change is the idea of the 'grotesque'. The purpose of this research is to re-clarify the development of the diversity, professionalism and artistic feature through the study of Art make-up based on the 'grotesque' style. This also strives to focus attention at observing the deep and mysterious workings of the human inner world. In order to explain the features of 'grotesque' Art make-up, six images below are presented. Firstly, Inharmonious images. Secondly, disgusting inhuman images. Thirdly, mechanical images. Fourthly, distorted and exaggerated images. Fifthly, diabolic and horrific images. And, lastly, playful images. These six images thoroughly demonstrate the 'grotesque' features. The fact at we can see the 'grotesque' features in Art make-up explains the enormous growth of Art make-up and the unlimited range of expression in this field. It also implies that the choice of material and theme is not restricted to universal artistic criteria. In closing, it is necessary that Art make-up is thought of not as actual art but more as a tool for its subjects. As a result, this research will provide valuable information for studies in the future.

The purpose of this study is to propose 3D art make-up design process by reproducing real objects through preliminary digital drawing with Photoshop (Photo Shop CS4.0, Adobe, USA) and using special make-up that has never been done previously, and produce creative problem solving plan to make concrete expanding thoughts and ideas. As for this study method, this study was composed of preliminary study, literature study by book examination and positive study on design process that performed preparatory work and reproduced real objects. Real case study by art make-up design process can improve effective design expressing ability by utilizing special make-up, diversify techniques, extend expression areas by materials, and create unique design. In addition, preliminary work by digital drawing, a process to predict real object work in advance, could reduce time and cost while improving work skill for work production, raise design accuracy and make easy the modification of idea. This study is anticipated to activate digital make-up by various digital techniques including Photoshop.

The performing art represents joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure through acting and dance, and is told to be a composite art represented by make-up, setting, costume and props. Therefore, it can be said that make-up is an important medium of stage art. Make-up in stage art is a kind of communication with audiences through understanding personalities of characters as demanded by scenarios. Due to the creative stage make-up which meets the character in the play relevant to these contents of the play, the conceptual study on stage make-up design for visual expression coincide with the intended character is needed. In this study, I investigate theoretical, universal, and psychological personality types by analyzing basic appearance features based on the physiognomy(face-reading) related from the psychological theories. And visualized through illustration according to personality types to apply for the characters in the play.

본 연구의 목적은 아트메이크업과 초현실주의의 이론적 배경을 보다 심층적으로 살펴보고 초현실주의 데페이즈망에 근거한 창의적인 사고와 발상을 미술과 메이크업이 접목된 아트메이크업의 다양한 표현방식을 재조명하는데 있다. 연구방법은 선행연구와 전문서적, 인터넷 등을 토대로 초현실주의 데페이즈망 개념과 기법, 아트메이크업에 관한 이론적 배경을 이론적으로 고찰한 후 데페이즈망 기법의 특성을 이중적 이미지, 이질적 사물의 결합, 변형 및 변환, 공간의 변조로 분류하여 총 4작품을 제작한다. 이러한 연구 결과는 첫째, 미술과 메이크업의 접목을 통해 창의성을 기반으로 하는 표현영역을 창출해내어 미술과 메이크업분야가 서로 융합 활용될 수 있는 기반을 마련하였다. 둘째, 전혀 다른 공간에서 이미지를 창출해 내어 결합함으로써 보는 이들에게 신선함과 낯섦을 제공한다. 이로서 본 연구자는 창의적인 아이디어를 도출해내어 표현영역을 넓힐 수 있도록 방향성을 제시하였으며 아트메이크업이 단순히 미적수단에서 그치는 것이 아니라 예술의 한 장르로 자리매김하기를 기대해본다.

The purposes of this study are to identify the formative characteristics and the form of color expression by studying Henri Matisse's works. Also, this study is meaningful in that it took art make-up illustration as an original area by incorporating the artistic value of Henri Matisse's works on art make-up illustration. The research was carried out by analyzing the paintings of Matisse focusing on previous theses and related books. Four pieces were produced from the motive earned from the figurative features and color. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1) Since Henri Matisse's works used strong original colors such as R/V, G/V, B/V, and Y/V, it was possible to create powerful art make-up illustration through the contrast of complementary colors. 2) Creative and artistic illustration could be produced by developing and reorganizing designs with the utilization of his works.

Performance art is an integrated genre of different art areas, and make-up is a visual art area to give lively effects to the performance art, which makes actors and actresses changed into the characters of plays. It can be said to be a kind of deliverer of idea to help effectively understand the contents of the performance. When we are in the world abundant in various cultures and innumerable styles of expression of different countries, we should rediscover the value of the beauty of our traditional masks that have represented the emotion and thought of Han nation, which we can find in play culture of our ancestors that has kept our ancestors' value system. That's the way we can get continuous life force and competitive power of our traditional culture. The Korean traditional masks haven't only been for the prevention of bad luck and the prayer of fortune, but also well expressed Korean people's looks, features and personalities according to the roles. They are excellent artistic works in themselves, and many studies have been performed on the analyses and uses of the features of the masks in various fields due to their good expression of different cultural aspects, while the studies in the light of make-up are rarely performed. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the features of the Korean traditional masks and, by using this analysis, to present effective make-up designs in outdoor performances through a stage performance. In addition, this article also tries to present the orientation of make-up as an expression of artistic image, and to expand the expression area of make-up by using the Korean traditional masks in the light of make-up. For this purpose, I examined the related literature and the precedent study materials to find the origin and kinds of the Korean traditional masks, and analyzed the features of the masks. Furthermore, I established the make-up design plan using the material features of the Korean traditional masks by analyzing the characters in actual performance works, and presented the photos of works actually performed.

현대의 아트메이크업은 미를 목적으로 하는 인간의 원초적 욕망이나 욕구의 논리적 사고에서 벗어나 개성화 차별화의 추세에 따라 폭넓게 전개되어지고 있으며 고객의 니즈(needs)에 맞게 다양하게 융합 접목되어지고 있다. 20세기 미술사조의 중심이 되는 입체주의는 아트메이크업을 표현하는데 있어 창의성을 기반으로 하는 좋은 소재가 된다. 이에 본 연구는 입체주의 표현기법을 아트메이크업에 융합시켜 아트마스크에 제시함으로써 새로운 디자인 발상과 표현영역을 창출해내는 데 있다. 연구방법은 선행연구와 인터넷 자료, 전문서적 등을 토대로 입체주의와 아트메이크업에 대한 고찰 후, 입체주의 표현기법을 크게 복수시점, 형태의 분할, 콜라주로 나누어 피카소의 작품을 모티브로 아트마스크에 융합 디자인한다. 이러한 연구 결과, 입체주의 표현기법이 아트메이크업에도 적용 가능하게 나타났으며 창의적인 아트메이크업 융합 디자인을 도출해내어 제시할 수 있었다. 향후 이에 따른 연구가 활발히 이루어지기를 기대해보며 본 연구가 아트메이크업 디자인 개발에 도움이 되길 바란다.

Materials from the 1960's such as pearl, glitter, paper, vinyl, and metal are being used identically in modern make-up, communicating various messages as creative works of art incorporating design-related factors of expression which are difficult to express generally, three-dimensional factors of decorative effects, and symbolic factors considering cultural aspects. The present study investigates the futurism apparent in 1960's fashion and art, and aims to observe how the materials used in 1960's futurism are expressed in modern make-up. This was performed by collecting and analyzing data, mostly from related thesis dissertations, fashion centered magazines, and internet sites. Results were analyzed in terms of a figurative perspective on the characteristics of futurist make-up, categorizing it into aspects of form, color, and texture, yielding the conclusion that modern make-up has been consummated as a form of creative art.

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of perceptional degree of imported make-up cosmetics brand and importance of brand image attributes, and the evaluation of brand image attributes of imported make-up cosmetics according to fashion involvement and to provide positioning the imported make-up cosmetics brands according to brand image attributes. Survey was conducted to 301 people from age 20 to 30 year female woman who is leaving in Seoul and Kyunggee Inchon using convenience editing. Material analyzing was done using t-test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, multidimensional scaling. The results were as follows. 1. The perceptional degree of brand and the importance brand image attributes showed significant difference according to fashion involvement. 2. The evaluation of brand image attributes of imported make-up cosmetics were different between high involvement group and low involvement group. 3. As a result of multidimensional scaling, the imported make-up cosmetics brands were positioned different according to brand image attributes between high involvement group and low involvement group.
