STSAT-2 is the first satellite which will be launched by the first Korean Space Launch Vehicle(KSLV). Ground station Baseband Control system(GBC) is now developed for STSAT-2. GBC has two functions. One is control data path between satellite control computers and ground station antennas(1.5M, 3.7M, 13M) automatically. The other is sending and receiving data between ground station and satellite. GBC is implemented by FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array) which includes almost all logic(for MODEM, PROTOCOL and GBC system control). MODEM in GBC has two uplink FSK modulators(1.2[kbps], 9.6[kbps]) and six downlink FSK demodulators(9.6[kbps], 38.4[kbps]). In hardware, STSAT-2 GBC is smaller than STSAT-1 GBC. In function, STSAT-2 GBC has more features than STSAT-1 GBC. This paper is about GBC structure, functions and test results.

A wideband patch antenna fed by an L-strip feeder is studied. The objective of this paper is to design small wideband antenna for 3G and 4G wireless mobile communication service. The enhanced features were confirmed and proved by comparing the proposed antenna with the antennae that have been reported in the relevant literatures. Measurement results confirm that an impedance bandwidth($VSWR{\leq}2$) of 636MHz(32.5%, fo=1,960MHz) is achieved at 3G and 4G frequency band for L-strip-fed triangular patch antenna. In general, probe feed has only the parasitic reactance caused by the probe, which reduces the bandwidth performance of the antenna. The experimental results proved that the effects of improvement could be achieved because the proposed antenna is capable of compensating the parasitic reactance from the feeding mechanism. The studied antenna can be designed easily for extension of array because it has simple structure.

This paper proposes a design of W-band mm-wave wideband monopulse comparator using waveguide structure for applications. The main idea of proposed design is to combine a self-compensating phase shifter on $90^{\circ}$ hybrid for wideband $180^{\circ}$ hybrid. Using multiple conventional phase shifters, because of their narrow-band characteristics, tends to restrict working bandwidth of system including antennas. Proposed comparator could relieve the problem since it applies the self-compensating phase shifter. The comparator has waveguide structure so it shows excellent characteristic in loss. It also show wideband characteristic in amplitude and phase response between ports.

The Yagi antenna, which is most widely used for television receiving, has simple form and good directiyity as well as high gain, but it must be made with linear elements of half wave length. Therefore, the dimension of multi-element Yagi antenna becomes bulky and so a(ten it is inconvenient to install and handle, because of its big size. Moreover the frequency band width of the Yagi antenna is usually not broad enough to cover the total frequency range of VHF TV channels in our country. Recently, the aemand for an antenna which is not only small enough to install it easily anywhere but also assures good quality of pictures is generally increasing. In this study 2 elements o( folded dipole, which is small compared to its electrical ways length, are fixed parallel to each other with a narrow distance and the emfs induced in them are made to get together with some phase difference. This new phased array antenna has shown a relatively good unidirectivity through over the high channel VHF television frequency hand as well as the good PIB ratio which is comparable to that of multielements Yagi antenna. As a result this new antenna will be used as a VHF high channel TV receiving antenna and it may become better antighost antenna when used inside the room than other room antennas.

There are various anti-jamming algorithms for the GNSS system which is vulnerable to jamming, and the methods using array antenna show the best performance. Among them, the DOA estimation algorithms to identify the location of the jammer is very important. However, in case of the rotorcraft, the wireless channel which amplitude and phase changes with time is generated by the rotation of the rotor and it affects the performance of existing anti-jamming algorithms. In this paper, we modeled the effect of the rotor in four scenarios according to the correlation of antennas and assured that the performance of DOA estimation algorithms are degraded and saturated regardless of JNR due to the rotor effect. When we use the averaging method to solve this problem, the performance is improved as increasing samples for estimating. And in case of using moving average method with averaging, it shows similar performance. In addition, it reduces the required memory and moderates the variation of DOA estimation.

Inertial Navigation System has been used extensively to determine the position, velocity and attitude of the body. An INS is very expensive, however, heavy, power intensive, requires long setting times and the accuracy of the system is degraded as time passed due to the accumulated error. Global Positioning System(GPS) receivers can compensate for the Inertial Navigation System with the ability to provide both absolute position and attitude. This study describes a method to improve both the accuracy of a body positioning and the precision of an attitude determination using GPS antenna array. Existing attitude determination methods using low-cost GPS receivers focused on the relative vectors between the master and the slave antennas. Then the positioning of the master antenna is determined in meter-level because the single point positioning with pseudorange measurements is used. To obtain a better positioning accuracy of the body in this research, a wireless internet is used as an alternative data link for the real-time differential corrections and dual-frequency GPS receivers which is expected to be inexpensive was used. The numerical results show that this system has the centimeter level accuracy in positioning and the degree level accuracy in attitude.
This paper describes the design of a simulator for analyzing the accuracy of a correlative interferometer(CI) direction finder. CI direction finder is robust to noise, so it is often used in aircraft or ships where complex antenna installation is required, and the direction finding accuracy is very high. When the radio wave is incident at a specific azimuth angle, the phase difference calculated in a noiseless environment and the phase difference measured in a real environment with noise are fused to estimate the largest correlation coefficient as the azimuth angle of the radio wave. The simulator receives RF frequency, the number of antennas, the antenna coordinates, the transmission signal intensity, the bandwidth of the receiver, the gain and the payload effect, and calculates the direction finding accuracy of 0-360 degrees azimuth and 0-60 degree elevation with 0.5 degree. accuracy.

In this paper, we investigate a multi-beam satellite communication system where multiple terminals transmit information signals to the gateway via a satellite. The satellite is equipped with phased array antennas to form multiple spot beams of which bandwidths are not identically allocated. We formulate an optimization problem to maximize fairness of beam bandwidth allocation. In order to solve the problem, we propose two heuristic algorithms; iterative beam bandwidth allocation (IBBA) and request ratio-based beam bandwidth allocation (RRBBA) algorithms. The IBBA algorithm iteratively equalizes the ratio of allocated bandwidth of each beam to their resource request while the RRBBA algorithm allocates beam bandwidth calculated from the ratio. Simulation results show that the IBBA algorithm has close fairness performance to the optimum while the RRBBA algorithm has less performance than the IBBA algorithm at the price of reduced computational complexity.
Typical anti-jamming technologies based on array antennas, Space Time Adaptive Process (STAP) & Space Frequency Adaptive Process (SFAP), are very effective algorithms to perform nulling and beamforming. However, it does not perform equally well for all types of jamming signals. If the anti-jamming algorithm is not optimized for each signal type, anti-jamming performance deteriorates and the operation stability of the system become worse by unnecessary computation. Therefore, jamming classification technique is required to obtain optimal anti-jamming performance. Machine learning, which has recently been in the spotlight, can be considered to classify jamming signal. In general, performing supervised learning for classification requires a huge amount of data and new learning for unfamiliar signal. In the case of jamming signal classification, it is difficult to obtain large amount of data because outdoor jamming signal reception environment is difficult to configure and the signal type of attacker is unknown. Therefore, this paper proposes few-shot jamming signal classification technique using meta-learning and transfer-learning to train the model using a small amount of data. A training dataset is constructed by anti-jamming algorithm input data within the GNSS receiver when jamming signals are applied. For meta-learning, Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) algorithm with a general Convolution Neural Networks (CNN) model is used, and the same CNN model is used for transfer-learning. They are trained through episodic training using training datasets on developed our Python-based simulator. The results show both algorithms can be trained with less data and immediately respond to new signal types. Also, the performances of two algorithms are compared to determine which algorithm is more suitable for classifying jamming signals.

This paper proposes a H-plane 8-way rectangular waveguide power divider using Y-junction. A general N-way power divider can be composed of multi-stage T-junctions. However, if the distances of output ports are close, the matching characteristic is not improved by using only T-junctions because of space limitation. In this case, since other types of 3-port junctions should be used to final output stage, Y-junctions are used with T-junctions in this paper. The proposed Y-junction uses the tapered-line impedance transformer and inductive irises to improve impedance matching characteristic. The 8-way power divider using Y-junction is fabricated and measured. The measured return loss and insertion loss from input port to output port are -30.8 dB and -9.3 dB at operating frequency, respectively. The measured maximum phase difference is about $1^{\circ}$. Therefore, the proposed power divider will be useful to apply to various microwave systems, which need to divide the input power equally, such as feed networks for array antennas.
