열차 운행 중인 기관사의 각성상태 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study Concerning Analysis of Arousal State of locomotive Engineering During Operating Train)

  • The study for the passenger's comfortableness of vehicles and the arousal of car drivers has been done widely. On the other hand, there are few studies for the locomotive engineers. Human error means that the mistakes made by human, recently it receives attention in the field of safety engineering and human engineering. Comparing the operating condition of train with car, because of the simplification of the visual stimulus, the arousal level on the train goes down easily. The arousal level down makes judgement down, the accident risk from human error is getting bigger. In this study, we measured bio-signals(ECG, EDA, PPG, respiration and EEG) from 6 locomotive engineers to evaluate their arousal state while they operated the train. Also we recorded the 3 axes acceleration signal showing the vibration state of train. Also, the existence of tunnels were simultaneously measured. At the station section where the train speed goes down, the size of vector's sum decreases because of reduced vibration. Beta component in EEG tends to increase at the entering point of each station and tunnel. It is due to the arousal reaction and tension growth. The mean SCR(skin conductance response) was more increased in neutral section. As the button control movement (body movement) increases in the neutral section, it is appeared that SCR increase. RR interval tends to gradually increase during train operation for 1 hour 40 minutes. However, It tends to sharply decrease at the stop station because strong concentration needed to stop train on the exact point. The engineer's arousal reaction can be checked through analysing the bio-signal change during train operation. Therefore, if this analysing result is adopted to the sleepiness prevention caution system, it will be useful for the safety train operation.

졸음운전 방지를 위한 fuzzy 추론에 의한 각성도의 평가 (Evaluation of Arousal Level to Prevent Drowsy Driving by Fuzzy Inference)

  • 본 연구에서는 졸음운전 방지를 위한 방법으로 기존의 3단계 경고음법과 fuzzy logic을 이용한 가성도 측정 및 제어법을 시뮬레이션으로 비교 및 분석하였다. 각성상태를 제어하는 방법으로 사용되었던 기존의 각성제어지표는 실 차에는 사용될 경우 효과적이지 못하므로 각성상태에 따른 영역별 Nz와 IRI의 상관분포도를 분석하여 기존의 각성제어지표를 수정하였다. Fuzzy 추론으로는 Sugeno의 방법을 사용하였고 멤버쉽함수와 제어규칙 베이스는 수정된 각성제어지표로부터 결정하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 60이하의 IRI가 발생되는 경우, Nz의 변화에 따라 두 제어방법 모두 small, medium, big의 경고음이 발생되었으나 3단계 경고음법은 다음 단계의 발생영역이 될 때까지 같은 출력만을 발생한다. 그러나 퍼지추론의 출력은 피검자의 각성수준의 변화에 잘 추종하여 변화되었으므로 3단계 경고음법의 문제점을 해겨할 수 있었고 더욱이 퍼지 추론의 출력과 Nz와의 상관계수(r=0.99)가 매우 높았으므로, 실제 운전시 퍼지추론 방법을 이용한 각성도 평가 및 제어에 적용할 경우 3단계 경고음법 보다 효과적일 것으로 기대된다.

  • The suck/swallow/breathe(SSB) synchrony, serving as the earlist primary motor mechanism, is the rhythmical, coordinated pattern of sucking, swallowing and breathing. The development of an intact SSB is an important precursor for further sensorimotor and cognitive development including speech and language development, state regulation, postural control, feeding, eye/hand coordination and social/emotional development. Arousal means a neurological mechanism for preparing one's body to orienting stimulus. Its levels are regulated with an interaction of the reticular formation, the limbic system, the hypothalamus and the autonomic nervous system. General strategies such as blowing, sucking, chewing, munching and licking to effectively modulate arousal state are related to SSB. The SSB synchrony is an important treatment principle for children with sensory integration disorder and problems with the modulation of arousal. The purpose of this article is to review concepts of SSB synchrony and the underlying relation between the modulation of arousal and SSB synchrony.

단일 채널 뇌전도를 이용한 호흡성 수면 장애 환자의 각성 검출 (Detection of Arousal in Patients with Respiratory Sleep Disorder Using Single Channel EEG)

  • Frequent arousals during sleep degrade the quality of sleep and result in sleep fragmentation. Visual inspection of physiological signals to detect the arousal events is cumbersome and time-consuming work. The purpose of this study is to develop an automatic algorithm to detect the arousal events. The proposed method is based on time-frequency analysis and the support vector machine classifier using single channel electroencephalogram (EEG). To extract features, first we computed 6 indices to find out the informations of a subject's sleep states. Next powers of each of 4 frequency bands were computed using spectrogram of arousal region. And finally we computed variations of power of EEG frequency to detect arousals. The performance has been assessed using polysomnographic (PSG) recordings of twenty patients with sleep apnea, snoring and excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS). We could obtain sensitivity of 79.65%, specificity of 89.52% for the data sets. We have shown that proposed method was effective for detecting the arousal events.

Measurement and Analysis of Arousal While Experiencing Light-Field Display Device

  • In this paper, we examine whether the 3D image experience through a light-field display device showed the difference in the arousal of the user compared with the 2D image experience. For our experiment, the Looking GlassTM (LG) was used as a lightfield display device that provided 3D images, and 2D images were provided by digital and printed images. The subject's facial behavior during each media experience was recorded for analysis and the degree of arousal was measured by FaceReaderTM. As a result, the first image presented in the first order among the three kinds of images showed that there was a statistical difference in the degree of arousal between the three media. However, no significant differences were found between the three media in the other images. This may be because the arousal did not increase from the experience of the second image through the LG, owing to habituation. In conclusion, the 3D imaging experience may appear in the beginning, but does not continue.

소속함수와 Dempster-Shafer 증거합 법칙을 이용한 긴장도 평가 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Arousal Level Estimation Algorithm by Membership Function and Dempster-Shafer′s Rule of Combination in Evidence)

  • 본 연구는 객관적인 생리신호로부터 인간의 감성을 추론할 수 있는 감성평가 전문가 시스템을 개발하기 위한 첫 번째 단계로 측정된 생리신호를 이용하여 인간의 긴장도를 판단하는 알고리즘의 개발을 목표로 한다. 감성평가와 관련된 애매함을 수리적으로 취급하기 위해 퍼지이론을 적용하여 임의의 감성영역에 속하는 정도를 소속함수로 정량화함으로써 감성평가를 가능하게 하고자 하였다. 소속함수의 결정은 상상을 통해 유발된 긴장/이완의 생리신호 데이터베이스 결과를 사용하였다. 그리고 두 가지 이상의 생리신호 측정결과와 각 생리신호의 소속함수로부터 하나의 최종결과(긴장도)를 유추하기 위해서 Dempster-Shafer증거합 법칙을 적용하였고, 이를 통해 최종적인 긴장도를 도출할 수 있도록 하였다.

Determinants of Positive Word of Mouth for a Contemporary Art Exhibition on Web-based Virtual Reality

  • We aimsto examine the determinants of visitors' positive word-of-mouth (WOM) in a web-based virtual reality contemporary art exhibition. We also examines the effects of 3 realms of experience (entertainment, esthetic, escapist) on emotional arousal, how this emotional arousal affects memory and positive word-of-mouth, how memory affects positive word-of-mouth and how age moderate all of the paths. We examined a total of 297 visitors and was conducted through an online survey focusing on Chinese users of ages 20-49. The analysis results showed that entertainment and esthetic have an effect on emotional arousal, but escapist did not. The results also showed emotional arousal has an effect on memory and positive WOM. Memory did not affect positive word-of-mouth. Finally, age has a moderate effect on all the paths, except for the path form escape towards emotional arousal and memory to positive word-of-mouth. The theoretical implications of this study are meaningful exhibition research. While, it also will be helpful to segment the web-based virtual reality art exhibition visitors by dividing into 3 groups (20s, 30s, 40s) and to provide marketing and operation strategies.

인스타그램 이용자의 대상관계 요인과 감정반응 요인, 만족도의 구조적 관계 연구 (Structural Relationship among Object Relations, PAD Factors, and Satisfaction of Instagram Users)

  • This study aims to identify the object relations and PAD factors of Instagram users, apply the object relations to the emotional response (PAD) factors, and empirically study the structural relationship between these factors and satisfaction. To this end, we proposed a research model to which the four factors of object relations theory and the three factors of emotional response (PAD) theory that emphasize the emotions of users are applied. Surveys were conducted on the college students in Seoul and Suwon who had used Instagram. As a result of this study, the following conclusions can be drawn: Non-alienation has a significant influence on pleasure, arousal, and domination. Secure attachment does not have a significant influence on pleasure and arousal, while it does have on domination. Social ability does not have a significant influence on pleasure, arousal, and domination. Egocentrism has a significant influence on arousal, but not on pleasure and domination. Pleasure has a significant influence on arousal and satisfaction. Arousal has a significant influence on domination and satisfaction. Domination has a significant influence on satisfaction. In conclusion, when emotions are shared among the users of Instagram, not alienated, it affects their satisfaction.

교차 양상과 부정 정서에서의 정서 불일치 효과에 따른 기억의 차이 (Effect of Emotional Incongruence in Negative Emotional Valence & Cross-modality)

  • 본 연구에서는 정서를 두 양상(청각, 시각)으로 제시할 시, 두 양상의 정서가 일치 혹은 불일치 할 경우 각성과 재인 기억, 회상 기억에 영향을 미친다는 것을 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 첫 번째 가설은 교차 양상에서의 정서 불일치는 일치 할 때 보다 각성 뿐만 아니라 재인, 회상 기억 모두 높을 것이라는 것이다. 두 번째 가설은 각성이 회상 기억과 재인 기억을 modulate한다는 것이다. 가설을 증명하기 위해 시각과 청각의 정서를 긍정 정서와 부정 정서로 조작하여 일치 조건과 불일치 조건으로 조작하였다. 각 조건에서는 재인 기억과제와 회상 기억 과제의 정확도를 종속 변인으로 측정하였으며, PAD(Pleasure-arousal-dominance) 척도를 이용하여 참가자의 각성 수준을 측정하였다. 또한 8일이 지난 후, 참가자 모두에게 실험 자극으로 쓰인 영상에 대해 재인 기억 과제를 통해 다시 검사하였다. 연구 결과, 각성의 경우 영상을 본 후의 각성 차이는 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났지만(p<.001), 일치와 불일치 조건 간의 각성 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 또한 정서가 일치하는 조건과 불일치하는 조건에서 재인 기억이 통계적으로 유의미하지는 않았지만, 영상 정서의 주 효과가 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 이로 인해 두 가지 정서로 나누어 분석한 결과, 부정 정서 영상에 노출된 조건에서만 일치 조건과 불일치 조건에서의 재인 기억이 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다(p= .044). 사후 분석 결과, 불일치 조건에서 일치 조건 보다 높은 점수를 보였다. 회상 기억의 경우, 영상 정서조건과 일치, 불일치 조건 간의 상호작용이 나타났다(p=.039). 따라서 본 연구에서는 부정 정서에서의 불일치 효과는 증명하였지만, 각성으로 인한 효과는 증명하지 못하였다.

상상으로 유발된 감성 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Changes in Human Sensibility Evoked by Imagination)

  • In this study, emotion changes were induced by four imaginations- pleasantness, unpleasantness, arousal, relaxation and it was examined using subjective evaluation and analysis of the physiological signals of the central and autonomic nerve systems whether the intended emotions were appropriately achieved, and whether these emotion changes could be distinguished from the analysis of physiological signals. Each of the four imaginations was implemented on 32 subjects for 30 seconds, while that Electroencephalogram (EEG), Eelectrocardiogram (RSP) were measured, and a subjective evaluation was implemented following the completion of the measurement. The analysis of the subjective evaluation revealed that the subjects underwent the four clearly differentiated imaginations, and the pleasantness level was classified into four imagination stages, pleasantness>relaxation>arousal=comfort>unpleasantness, and arousal level was classified into four imagination stages in the order of arousal>unpleasantness${\approx}$pleasantness>comfort>relaxation. The analysis of the EEG revealed that three stages of pleasantness level, pleasantness>relaxation=arousal=comfort>unpleasantness were classified from the values of ${\alpha}/{\alpha}+{\beta}\;and\;{\beta}/{\alpha}+{\beta}$, and about tour distinguishable stages of arousal level were obtained from the autonomic nervous system responses following the order of arousal>unpleasantness${\approx}$pleasantness> comfort> relaxation. It was found that intended emotion could be induced from the imagination, and these induced emotion changes could be differentiated using the physiological signals of the EEG and autonomic nervous system.
