Interfacially Controlled Hybrid Thin-film Solar Cells Using a Solution-processed Fullerene Derivative

  • We report the origin of the improvement of the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of hybrid thin-film solar cells when a soluble C60 derivative, [6,6]-phenyl-$C_{61}$-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM), is introduced as a hole-blocking layer. The PCBM layer could establish better interfacial contact by decreasing the reverse ark-saturation current density, resulting in a decrease in the probability of carrier recombination. The power conversion efficiency of this optimized device reached a maximum value of 8.34% and is the highest yet reported for hybrid thin-film solar cells.

Water temperature and salinity tolerance of embryos and spat of the mussel, Musculista senhousia

  • The effects of water temperature and salinity on embryonic development and spat survival of mussel Musculista senhousia were investigated. Embryos were incubated in water ranging from 0 to $35^{\circ}C$ and with salinity from 5‰ to 40‰. Mussel spat were tested in water from 0 to $40^{\circ}C$ and with salinity from 0‰ to 100‰. The optimal conditions for mussel embryos were $20-25^{\circ}C$ and salinity from 25‰ to 35‰, based on Within this temperature range, higher temperatures correponded to a shorter duration of the embryonic period. Optimisation of mussel spat survival was at $25-35^{\circ}C$ and salinity from 30‰ to 40‰; both values are higher than those for embryo, which hinted M. senhousia embryos are more vulnerable than spat. Temperatures below $15^{\circ}C$ were lethal for embryos, making temperature a feasible method with which to control the large population of M. senhousia in ark-shell farm during its spawning period.

  • The southern coast of Korea is important for the ark shell ($Scapharca$ $broughtonii$) aquaculture, but the productivity was rapidly reduced during the previous decade by mass mortality. To overcome this economic loss, investigations only focused on environmental factors, and microbiological researches were performed insufficiently. In this study, two sites (Gangjin and Jinhae bay) were selected for their high and low rate of mortality, respectively, and the existence of microflora from underwater sediments in the bodies of $S.$ $broughtonii$ was analyzed. We screened the whole body of each sample and chose unique colonies, which exhibit alpha- and beta-hemolytic activity, for identification. The microflora in $S.$ $broughtonii$ was less variable than sediments, and restricted species were isolated. We identified 17 genera of 88 species and 16 genera of 64 species from the two bays, respectively. A major proportion was comprised of $Bacillus$ species, with the $Bacillus$ $cereus$ group being the most common species among the $Bacillus$ strains, while $Paenibacillus$, $Lynsilbacillus$, and $Vibrio$ species were the second most abundant species. At the genus level, there were no significant microbial differences between the two coastal regions. 64 species were isolated from rare site (Jinhae bay), but more species (88) with greater variety were isolated from the frequent site (Gangjin bay). Therefore, it was assumed that the cause of mass mortality lay in the difference in specie-level diversity, and conducting investigations on the diagnosis of pathogenic species by challenging tests using isolated unique species.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the image of the 16th Century Honam Chinese poetry. for that, Park Sang, Im Eokryeong, Ko Gyeongmyeong in this study. This paper identified the characteristics of Ho Nam poetry is two things. First of all, is "literary talent does not acknowledge" consciousness and image of army. Park Sang, Im Eokryeong, Ko Gyeongmyeong was advanced to the center politics with excellent literary talent to the talents our 16th century Honam. However, at that time, the ruling layer was time to lead the politics. Therefore, the three people to frustration. Yet three people were criticizing the reality. And they thought that they were unhappy. It is unfortunate that they did because of their literary talent to be recognized. Three people were very sensitive to not be recognized literary talent. This is because they were subject to the management by the literary ability. It does not recognize the literary consciousness appears as sword, spear, admiral image. Second, The HwaIbulryu consciousness and image of integrity. Park Sang, Im Eokryeong, Ko Gyeongmyeong thought it not right politics. Yet continued to politics. This is not behavior that is typical scholar. What they did so because we follow a man named Yuhahye. A man named yuhahye pursue life, be it a dirty political reality was to continue the crest. But that never lose their integrity. Three people who will follow the life of this Yuhahye. This is a life attitude graft Japanese apricot flower, oriole, rock of pillar, appears as an image.

Effects of Size and Environmental Condition on Burrowing of Artificial Seedling of Ark Shell, Scapharca broughtonii (Schrenck) (피조개, Scapharca broughtonii (Schrenck) 인공치패의 크기 및 환경조건이 잠입에 미치는 영향)

  • The influence of individual size, sediment, gain size, water temperature, salinity and air exposure on burrowing rate was investigated in order to obtain the basic biological data on applying shellfish farm for a sustainable production of ark shell, Scapharca broughtonii (Schrenk). The burrowing rate on individual size 300 minutes after starting the experiment was the highest in the shell length $16.3\;{\pm}\;1.2\;mm$, 97.7%. The highest burrowing rates were 97.0% in $12.8\;{\pm}\;0.8\;mm$, 96.7% in $9.2\;{\pm}\;1.0\;mm$, and 96.3% in $5.9\;{\pm}\;0.7\;mm$. The clams over 6 mm of shell length had burrowing ability and the burrowing rate was not related to the shell size. The burrowing rate depending on the kind of grain at the bottom after 300 minutes was the highest, 98.3%, in the mixture of sand and silt with a ratio of 75:25. The rates were 98% in silt (100%), 97.3% in mixture sand and silt with a ratio of 50:50, 97.3% in sand and silt ratio of 25:75, and 86.3% in sand (100%) in this specific order. On grain size of the soil in the seafloor, the burrowing rates after 300 minutes was at its highest in the group of sand in pore size 1 mm with 85.0%, and the $12\;{\mu}m$ to 1 mm in the grain size was fitted to burrowing of artificial seed. In the case of water temperature, the burrowing rates were at its highest after 300 minutes. In $30^{\circ}C$ group, the rate was 96.7% and in $25^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$, 90.0%. The rates decreased as the water temperature decreased below $15^{\circ}C$. The burrowing rates on salinity were the highest in 30 psu with 93.3% and at 15 psu and below, there was no noticeable change in the burrowing rate. On air exposure, the burrowing rates after 300 minutes were the highest in 1 hour with 93.3%, and remarkably decreased as air exposure time is longer after 12 hours of air exposure.

The Physiochemical Characteristics of Seawater and Sediment of Marine Shellfish Farm in Jindong Bay (진동만 패류양식해역의 환경특성)

  • Seawater and sediment quality analysed was calculated to examinate the present environmental characteristics and pollution load was also calculated to evaluate the effect of farming area on the coastal environment. The measurements for seawater quality demonstrate the coastal environment has relatively eutrophicated with significantly decreased DO (0.2-8.5 mg/l) and elevated COD (9.6-31.2 mg/l) in summer. It was also evident that the water quality in Jindong Bay has been influenced by residues tide from Masan Bay with high metal concentration in August of 2002. Annual total pollution load (land and farm-driven) was estimated at 37,316 ton (SS) /yr: 9,809 ton/yr (26.3%) of land-driven load, 23,576 ton/yr (63.2%) of coastal sedimentation and 3,932 ton/yr (10.5%) of feces of cultural organisms. When all ark shell seedling farms are permitted species conversion to ascidian farm, the pollution load would increase by 196%, which may be another source for accelerating the eutrophication of the environment in Jindong Bay.
