In this paper, we study the calculation for the fracture area of the composite material specimens using digital image processing techniques. This study was able to calculate the area of the fracture region through the main operation step 7 on the basis of improved image. To extract the area in the original image, we have to use opening operation, close operation, the Hit-or-Miss operation and Bottom hat filter, Top hat filter, etc. In particular, to extract the area of the composite specimen discussed in this study, we have to use the combination of the operations and filters because it is non-isotropic material, or should develop a new algorithm based on it.

The purpose of this study is to propose the type and size of space which is changed working plan as comparison with basic plan. It has been compared basic plan with working plan of 12 educational facilities which was designed basic plan by a professional research organization of educational facilities. The results of this study are summarized as follows; 1) The gross area of elementary school is decreased a course of working plan. But, the meddle and high school's gross area is increased. 2) It was downed 69.28 percent by the area of classroom at the primary school. At the meddle school, 3rd classroom's area increased by 22.65 percent, while 4th classroom's area down 33.98 percent. In case of high school, the area of 4th classroom and public lecture room increased by each 28.23 and 23.17 percent.

The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for planning of school foodservice facilities to operate with hygiene and efficiency corresponding a decrease of the number of students. This study analyzes the composition of space for foodservice facilities categorizing by the functions which are preparation area, cooking area, cleaning area, storage, and worker's room on elementary, middle and high school in Seoul Metropolitan city since 2009 that the Seoul School Health Promotion Center published a manual for school foodservice facilities. The calculation can be a basis for school planners and the general schools to use available area in each school and can manage the school usage plan appropriately. The number of students in each school has been regarded as the space planning element, but the number of students would considered with using the specific area and time.

The objective of this study is to make a comparative study of the operation performance of different type of solar collectors. A flat-plate collector, a single-glazed evacuated collector and a double-glazed evacuated collector are used in this study. These 3 type of collectors are connected in series in the order of a flat-plate collector, a single-glazed evacuated collector and a double-glazed evacuated collector. This experimental facility is a kind of a solar system with a controller, a heat exchanger, a storage tank and a circulation pump. Each collector has a different collection area(flat-plate collector-$6.00m^2$ total area/$5.61m^2$ aperture area, double-glazed evacuated collector-$6.04m^2$ total area/$4.92m^2$ aperture area, single-glazed evacuated collector-$7.65m^2$ total area/$5.61m^2$ aperture area) and its performance characteristic respectively. The experiments have been demonstrated at around $70^{\circ}C$ operating temperature(flat-plate collector inlet temperature). The thermal collecting efficiencies of each collector are obtained under the different insolation and operation condition as a result.
The purpose of this study is to provide the planning device of outdoor environment of housing area for children. This study was accomplished the analyzation of opinion and preference of 230 children, elementary school students in Daegu. The contents of survey included the general items of children, the characteristics of outdoor activities, and the opinion & preference about outdoor space of housing area. And the survey of children's preference was used the 5 Likert scale. The conclusion of this study are as follows : First, generally, the design guidelines of housing area were provided to adult user, but the guidelines for children are limited at play space and park. So, the design guidelines of housing area must be provided by the children's opinion, pointment, and dissatisfaction. Second, children have the definite opinion and can point the preference about the outdoor space of housing area. So, children's opinion can not be bypassed in the process for planning of housing area. Third, children prefer the outdoor space that was furnished the facilities for convenience of the children's outdoor activities. So, exiting guideline of the outdoor space of housing area must improve to children.
This study was conducted to construct a program combining play and laughing activities with personality education. Self-recorded questionnaire was administered to investigate popularity of play(playing rules area, traditional play area, board game area), the laughing activity, digital games preference among 5th and 6th grade students. Most popular activities was board game area, followed by rule play area, traditional play area, and laughing activity in order. Group play among the rule play area, and Yutnory among traditional play, and digital games among board games were most preferred. This study suggest primitive classification and characterization of play and activities among senior elementary students. Further study for define classification of other eligible play and activities may be encouraged to establis high quality play and activity programs among elementary school students.
A study was carried out to determine the content of Mn and Cr in the ground water in Seoul area, where municipal water supply system was not installed, from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30, 1973. In this study, authors examined the hardness, pH, water temperature and Cl ion to investigate the general conditions of the ground water. For this study, samples were collected from 46 wells which were located in outpart of Seoul city, and Mn and Cr were determined with the Spectronic-20. The following results were obtained: 1) Average value of the ground water conditions of the wells were 13.3$\circ$C in temperature, pH 6.3, hardness 159 ppm and Cl ion 41 ppm. 2) In the manganese concentration, the highest area was Yeongdeungpo-Ku(0.318 ppm), while the lowest area was Sungbuk-Ku(0.065 ppm) and the mean concentration of the whole district was 0.196 ppm. 3) In the chrome concentration, the highest area was Yeongdeungpo-Ku(0.031 ppm), while the lowest area was Dobong-Ku (trace) and the mean concentration of the whole district was 0.012 ppm.
Purpose: In this study, we try to figure out the appropriate size of commercial districts in the original downtown area through empirical studies targeting the Jinju Central Commercial Area in Gyeongnam and Cheonan Station in Chungnam, which are trying to regenerate a specific space that has been lost through government projects. Research design, data and methodology: The current status and characteristics of the shopping district were examined through on-site surveys of the central business district of Jinju, Gyeongnam Province, and Cheonan Station, Chungnam Province, and the size of the empty stores was determined. In addition, the standard median income was used as the survey data along with the survey of the mobile population in the commercial area. Result: The analysis result shows that 883 stores should be maintained considering the overall expenditure and gross sales profit within Cheonan Station in South Chungcheong Province. Currently, considering spending and margins in the Commercial Area, Jinju Central Commercial Area is a place where 222 stores can be sold excessively, and a proper commercial supply plan is needed. Conclusions: In this study, we conducted a demand prediction study in the commercial sector of the most basic sector to regenerate the commercial sector through major regional commercial districts.

This study is about occurrence pattern of vacant spaces as a urban decline indicator to consider a decline of old hillside residential area from spatial structure perspective. For investigation based upon vacant space and the street structure, this study selects Ami Chojang-dong in Seo-gu, Busan, of which 79.7% of total area is over a gradient of $10^{\circ}$. Focused on relationship between occurrence pattern of vacant spaces and 'vertical alleys(link)' serving as main movement path of local residents in hillside residential area, the length, numbers, slopes, and use characteristic of vertical alleys were analyzed using Arc GIS 9.3 program to classify characteristic zone types of spacial structure in hillside residential area. After the occurrence pattern of vacant space are interpreted in relation with building density, vertical alleys' number length slope, the social and economic issues have been considered as well. After analyzing the occurrence pattern of vacant space, this study argues that the occurrence pattern of vacant space in old hillside residential area is rather affected by street structure system consisting of vertical alleys than the impacts of social economical issues.
Geophysical methodology using GPR(Ground Penetrating Radar) were applied both to the limestone producing area(Sambo Mine Company & Haksanri Area) and to Landfill area(Mureung Landfill Site). The investigation results resultant from both the limestone producing area(Sambo Mine Company & Haksanri Area) showed that there are a few events reflected from boundaries between caves and basement rocks. Those from landfill area showed that more complicated and small size events are found. These events could be from different electric characteristics of various kinds of composition materials in the landfill site.
