  • This study aims to develop a distress prediction model, in order to evaluate the distress prediction power for first-class hotels and to calculate the average financial ratio in the Seoul area by using the financial ratios of hotels in 2015. The sample data was collected from 19 first-class hotels in Seoul and the financial ratios extracted from 14 of these 19 hotels. The results show firstly that the seven financial ratios, viz. the current ratio, total borrowings and bonds payable to total assets, interest coverage ratio to operating income, operating income to sales, net income to stockholders' equity, ratio of cash flows from operating activities to sales and total assets turnover, enable the top-level corporations to be discriminated from the failed corporations and, secondly, by using these seven financial ratios, a discriminant function which classifies the corporations into top-level and failed ones is estimated by linear multiple discriminant analysis. The accuracy of prediction of this discriminant capability turned out to be 87.9%. The accuracy of the estimates obtained by discriminant analysis indicates that the distress prediction model's distress prediction power is 78.95%. According to the analysis results, hotel management groups which administrate low level corporations need to focus on the classification of these seven financial ratios. Furthermore, hotel corporations have very different financial structures and failure prediction indicators from other industries. In accordance with this finding, for the development of credit evaluation systems for such hotel corporations, there is a need for systems to be developed that reflect hotel corporations' financial features.

  • Purpose: Point fixation at the margin of the glenoid is a limitation of conventional arthroscopic stabilization using suture anchors, and does not afford sufficient footprint healing, especially in glenoid bone deficiency. So, we introduce an arthroscopic suture bridge transosseous-equivalent technique for bony Bankart lesions to avoid the technical disadvantage of point contact with anchor fixation and to improve mechanical stability through cross compression of the labrum. Surgical approach: The technique was adapted from the transosseous-equivalent rotator cuff repair technique using suture bridges, which improved the pressurized contact area and mean pressure between the tendon and footprint. After preparation of the glenoid bed by removal, reshaping, or mobilization of the bony lesion, two anchors (3.0 mm Biofastak, $Arthrex^{(R)}$, Naples, FL) were inserted into the superior and inferior portion of the bony Bankart lesion. Using a suture hook, medial mattress sutures were applied around the capsulolabral portion of the IGHL complex to obtain sufficient depth of glenoid coverage. A 3.5 mm pushloc anchor ($Arthrex^{(R)}$, Naples, FL) hole was made in the articular edge of the anterior glenoid rim. distal, suture bridge was applied, and proximal was inserted to mobilize the labrum in the proximal direction. This avoided the technical disadvantage of point contact with anchor fixation and decreased the level of gap formation through cross-compression of the labrum.

  • Changes in breeding bird community and forest structure by thinning were investigated from April 1997 to August 1998 in 10ha ($400{\times}250m$) of temperate mixed hardwood forest in Mt. Gariwang which is located in National Forest, Pyoungchang, Kangwon Province, Korea. Bird community was surveyed by the territory mapping method and forest structure was done by analyzing the vertical structure of foliage, distribution of diameter at breast height (DBH) of trees and tree species composition. After the thinning, tree density, number of tree species and basal area were decreased from 195ea/ha, 18 species and 6.69 $m^2/ha$ into 100ea/ha, 13 species and 3.04 $m^2/ha$, respectively. Foliage coverages in upper and mid layer were decreased, but coverage in low layer was increased. Large trees (Over 40cm of DBH) were decreased. Number of breeding bird species and pairs were decreased from 14 species and 23 pairs into 8 species and 12 pairs after the thinning. Number of breeding pairs of Yellow-breasted bunting Emberiza elegans incresed. There were decrease in number of species in hole & bush-nesting and canopy & bush-foraging guild. The results suggested that the thinning affect the species composition of breeding bird community and the forest structure. Changes of habitat structure might influence in breeding bird's density, species diversity and habitat using pattern of breeding bird community.

  • Water spider(Argyroneta aquatica) inhabits only a small size wetland in Eundae-ri, Yeoncheon-gun. In this study to investigate environmental factors influencing on population of A. aquatica, we analyzed the relationship between density of A. aquatica and various physicochemical and biological factors. Density of A. aquatica increased with small habitat area and high $NH_4$ and electric conductivity. The relationship between density of A. aquatica and prey or predator was low but the water spider decreased with density of Pomacea canaliculata. And density of A. aquatica was not related to the coverage of emergent plant. However density of A. aquatica decreased as the increase of floating plant and increased as the increase of submerged plant. These results indicated that aquatic plants are important in the habitat environment of A. aquatica. Therefore we suggest necessity of management strategies for the invasive species, P. canaliculata which is a notorious predator of aquatic plants.

  • In previous studies, it was confirmed that through the in-situ production of precast concrete members, costs could be reduced by 14.5-39.4% compared to in-plant production. In particular, it was confirmed that the factory owner did not make a contract if it did not earn more than 20% of the production cost. If precast concrete members are produced in-situ under the same conditions, the quality equivalent to that of factory production can be secured. As it is advantageous in terms of cost and quality, precast concrete members must be produced in-situ. However, it is difficult to produce all quantities in-situ due to time and various other constraints. This is because in-situ production is avoided due to anticipated risks during the project management process. However, if the risk factors are analyzed before performing in-situ production of precast concrete members, it will increase the opportunity for in-situ production. Therefore, this study develops a checklist for evaluating the risk of in-situ production of precast concrete members. By applying the checklist to one case site, it was verified that risk factors can be evaluated easily and quickly. As a result, it was analyzed that sites with a high building coverage ratio are classified as high-risk sites because it is difficult to secure usable area for production and storage. The developed checklist efficiently evaluates the risk factors of in-site production, and makes it possible for the operator to determine the risk factors, which can change frequently during project execution, and respond according to the situation.

  • The purposes of this study are to analyze the spatial composition of the outer garden of Soswaewon that appears in Gyeong-Ji Yang's "30 Poems of Soswaewon" and examine its significance and symbols. These poems by Gyeong-Ji Yang are important historical records that portray the appearance of Soswaewon and the space outside it at the end of the 17th century. Unlike "48 Poems of Soswaewon" or "Soswaewondo," these poems arenot limited to Soswaewon and its surroundings; theyalso include areas from the village entrance upwardto the peak of the mountain behind the village. These poems can be divided into three main parts. Jiseok-ri and Changam-dong in poems 1 and 2 provide first impressions of the village in which the main Soswaewon garden is located, whereas poems 3 to 8 and poems 10 to 12 describe the space inside Soswaewon. Poems 13 to 30 depict the beautiful scenery around the outer garden of Soswaewon. In general, about 30% of the compilation in "30 Poems of Soswaewon" celebrates the inner Soswaewon, and the remaining 70% depicts the scenery around Soswaewon (i.e., views of the outer garden). It is presumed that Gyeong-Ji Yang employed this structure to achieve some type of order. Between the "48 Poems of Soswaewon" - also describing Soswaewon - and "Soswaewondo," which is a woodprint drawing of Soswaewon, "30 Poems of Soswaewon" offers the widest coverage of Soswaewon. Compared to "48 Poems of Soswaewon," which addresses the scene inside Soswaewon, new buildings such as the Jaeweoldang, Buhweondang, and Hancheonsa appear in "30 Poems of Soswaewon." Thus, the latter covers a much wider range. Chimgye Munbang - Gwangpunggak, Yangdandongo - Aeyangdang, Byeongseogjuggeun - Jajukchong, etc. are mentioned in both compilations. The use of a wide range of natural objects in these 30 poems, including mountains, birds, and the sky (instead of trees and flowers), shows that the author perceived Soswaewon as an area with a much higher and wider view than that of a typical living space. Moreover, natural regression ideologies, or seclusion ideologies, are evident.

  • As of 2020, due to the influence of fine dust from China and domestic dust, the cloudy sky of Korea has become a daily routine not only in spring but also in autumn/winter. In 2013, the International Cancer Institute under the World Health Organization designated fine dust as a group 1 carcinogen that has been confirmed to be carcinogenic to humans. The purpose of this study is to theoretically review 5 fine dust-related design studies, by analyzing the case of three types of wearable air purifiers on the market, it is to propose an improved open wearable air purifier. As a verification method, a working prototype was produced to measure the amount of fine dust reduction. Therefore, this study derived three design insights of wearable air cleaner through case analysis. First, it maximizes openness by minimizing the area touching the face. Second, the nozzle where the air comes out should be close to the respiratory organ. Third, position of the motor is to be as far away as possible from the ear considering the noise. Based on this, I suggested an open-type wearable air purifier design that maximizes the user openness and improves the wearing comfort. I hope that it will be an opportunity to increase the coverage of wearable air cleaner and protect the respiratory health of users.

  • Autonomous vehicles are equipped with a wide rage of sensors such as GPS, RADAR, LIDAR, camera, IMU, etc. and are driven by recognizing and judging various transportation systems at intersections in the city. The accident ratio of the intersection of the autonomous vehicles is 88% of all accidents due to the limitation of prediction and judgment of an area outside the sensing distance. Not only research on non-signalized intersection collision avoidance strategies through V2V and V2I is underway, but also research on safe intersection driving in failure situations is underway, but verification and fragments through simple intersection scenarios Only typical V2V failures are presented. In this paper, we analyzed the architecture of the V2V module, analyzed the causal factors for each V2V module, and defined the failure mode. We presented intersection scenarios for various road conditions and traffic volumes. we used the ISO-26262 Part3 Process and performed HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) to analyze the risk of autonomous vehicle based on the simulation. We presented ASIL, which is the result of risk analysis, proposed a monitoring concept for each component of the V2V module, and presented monitoring coverage.

  • Azolla is a genus of small aquatic ferns native to Asia, Africa, and America. Azolla is potentially significant as a nitrogen source in agriculture, particularly in conjunction with rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivation. In addition, Azolla may either control weeds or act as a weed depending on management; therefore, we aimed to determine the effect of Azolla incorporation on weed (e.g., Monochoria vaginalis, Rotala indica, Aeschynomene indica, and Cyperus amuricus) control and its other benefits during rice cultivation. The effects of Azolla on weed emergence were evaluated based on plot area coverage by the Azolla mat, which appears as a green sheet over water, and the rate of weed emergence in paddy field. Weed occurrence was investigated 40 days after Azolla inoculation. Soil samples from the experimental plots were collected following harvest in 2014-2015, and analyzed. Moreover, rice growth, yield, and grain quality were measured. Azolla suppressed weed growth by 72%. Azolla mat incorporation in rice fields suppressed weed growth by over 60%. In addition, Azolla promoted nitrogen fixation. Compared with nitrogen management using chemical fertilizers, Azolla incorporation showed the potential for various positive effects, including the improvement of soil fertility by increasing total nitrogen, and organic matter content. Rice grown with Azolla maintained its yield without additional herbicide treatment. Moreover, the palatability of cooked rice was better when grown with Azolla.

  • Since oil spills can be a significant threat to the marine ecosystem, it is necessary to obtain information on the current contamination status quickly to minimize the damage. Satellite-based detection of marine oil spills has the advantage of spatiotemporal coverage because it can monitor a wide area compared to aircraft. Due to the recent development of computer vision and deep learning, marine oil spill detection can also be facilitated by deep learning. Unlike the existing studies based on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images, we conducted a deep learning modeling using PlanetScope optical satellite images. The blind test of the DeepLabV3+ model for oil spill detection showed the performance statistics with an accuracy of 0.885, a precision of 0.888, a recall of 0.886, an F1-score of 0.883, and a Mean Intersection over Union (mIOU) of 0.793.
