Computer Simulation for Calculation of Thermal Insulation in Korean Folk Clothes (한복의 보온력 평가를 위한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션)

  • The insulation provided by clothing system is usually expressed in terms of a coo units and its distribution of the body, directly affect convective, conductive, and radiant heat loss from the skin to the environment Evaporated heat loss is dependent upon fabric permeability, the amount of body surface area covered by clothing, and the pumping of air between the body and garment layers. Persons at low to medium activity levels, dressed in conventional apparel in door environments, usually do not lose a large amount of heat through evaporation. Thermal manikin technology is used to measure the resistance to heat transfer provided by clothing systems. The reciprocal of this value, 6.45 W/m2.$^{\circ}C$ is often used in calculations for convenience. The purpose of this study was to implement a research program for calculation the insulation value (clo), body surface area and basal metabolic rate of selected clothing system. The project provided for the building of an insulation data base for use in evaluating and comparing new and improved garments.

Studies on the Evaluation Method of Heavy Metal Contamination Degree in the Han River (한강 저질중의 중금속 오염도 평가 방법에 관한 연구)

  • This study was performed to evaluate contamination degree of heavy metals in sediments of Han River, compared with other nation's evaluation method. The results were as follows 1. The contamination Ratio calculation method by heavy metal concentration in differnt fraction size has a limitation to apply to all of the areas of Han river because of its characteristics of sediment. As a result, this method applied to only 4 areas of Pal Dang, Wang Sook Chon, Uk Chon, and Bul Kwang Chon, and Contmination Ratio of heavy metals in those areas were relatively low of below 3. So it's considered that those areas have less contaminated from anthropogenic contaminants. 2. The Contamination Ratio calculation method by heavy metal concentration in different areasthat of upper area to be background level-has a limitation also to apply to Han river. But it is considered that this method was relatively suitable to apply, so it should be prepared evaluation standand method for them. Contamination ratio from background level as Pal Dang area were most high in An Yang Chon. So it must be prepared purification and control measure at An Yang Chon.

  • Recently According to the development of the medical technology and medical machine, People's concern with health promotion has improved. Futhermore, medical consuming pattern has significantly changed, and requires diverse health check-up services. This study represent the standards for the spatial composition and area calculation of the Health Promotion Center according to domestic situations. The present conditions and space programs of 4 general hospital's Health Promotion Centers were investigated and analyzed for this purpose. This study suggest a basic study on the architectural planning of the Health Promotion Center.

A Study on Detection and Recognition of Facial Area Using Linear Discriminant Analysis

  • We propose a more stable robust recognition algorithm which detects faces reliably even in cases where there are changes in lighting and angle of view, as well it satisfies efficiency in calculation and detection performance. We propose detects the face area alone after normalization through pre-processing and obtains a feature vector using (PCA). The feature vector is applied to LDA and using Euclidean distance of intra-class variance and inter class variance in the 2nd dimension, the final analysis and matching is performed. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a wider distribution when the input image is rotated $45^{\circ}$ left / right. We can improve the recognition rate by applying this feature value to a single algorithm and complex algorithm, and it is possible to recognize in real time because it does not require much calculation amount due to dimensional reduction.

  • The continuous increase in air traffic emphasizes the importance of capacity calculation. Research on the calculation method of Terminal Control Area (TMA) capacity has been treated as a partial aspect of the airspace sector capacity or has been limitedly studied. This study aims to propose a mathematical model for calculating TMA capacity, taking into account the Standard Terminal Arrival Route (STAR), separation standards, TMA entry speed, and runway threshold passing speed. The proposed model has the advantage of being able to calculate the instantaneous arrival capacity, which has not been noted in previous studies, along with the throughput. Additionally, it is meaningful as the model can easily calculate the arrival capacity of the TMA considering airport construction, runway expansion, or new procedures.

  • This paper presents an automatic mesh generation considering water depth, which is based on the depth interpolation. The key feature of this method is that the position of a mesh on any depth in the shallow water area can be generated. The Examples are carried out, and the results are shown to be good. This method is shown to be a useful and powerful tool for the flow calculation for the seabed topography.

  • The focus of this article is the strategies young children use to solve rectangular covering tasks before they have been taught area measurement. seventy nine children from Grade 1 to 4 were observed while they solved various array-based tasks, and their drawing and explanation were collected and analyzed. Children's solution strategies were classified into incomplete covering, inadequate array, array constructed from moveable unit, measurement of one dimension, measurement of two dimension, and calculation. Implications for the learning of area measurement are addressed.
