This study aims at discussing development of web archiving policies in South Korea. The study is based on the understanding of that the institutional environment and efforts for keeping Web information resources are insufficient, compared to the value and importance of them. For the study, Web archiving practices are analyzed into three aspects: scope, method, and quality. Futhermore, they are graphically schematized as a comparative analysis model. Based on the model, the study classifies national Web archiving practices into seven unique types and diagnoses their cons and pros. In this context, a combined Web archiving policy is discussed as an optimal Web archiving approach. As a case study, the France National Library's Web archiving is discussed in depth and the Korean National Library's Web archiving project, OASIS, is critically analyzed. As a result, the study proposes two alternative plans for the development of Web archiving policy in South Korea.

New-tro is emerging as a new trend affecting the game industry. In this regard, this study analyzed on korean game archiving where need is emphasized. As a result, korean game archiving lacks consistency and validity due to the absense of methodology. Therefore this study conducts a preliminary study of building a game archiving methodology. First, this study analyzed the discourse of archiving science, including Documentation strategy, and the study of cultural content archiving in other fields. Then by applying it to korean game archiving, this study embodies game archiving methodology.

The culture archiving has attracted the public increasingly because of interest in culture and field extension of archival science. So researches have been conducted and many attempts have been tried to in everyday life archiving and village archiving. Although many studies explain appropriateness and give examples, theoretical study is rarely conducted. This Study explains the representation of the records in theoretical ways and the process of culture archiving. Also, this study reconsiders the documenting by archivists and suggests a value-based archiving method. For proving validity of this study, reviewed the possibility of representation classification system based on cultural contents is usable. I hope that this study contributes to discussion of the development of culture archiving methods.

In this study, co-word occurrence analysis was performed on 288 articles rerieved from the Web of Science DB with the topic of web archiving. Results showed that research on image archiving information technology and system were most frequently carried out especially in medical area. Within library and information science and records management & archives areas, web archiving/digital preservation project subject and web archiving tools and methodology subject were studied mostly. It is expected that research related to web archiving software and tools will be increased in near future.

As digital preservation becomes increasingly important, interest in web archiving has correspondingly increased. The processes of web archiving depend on the types of acquisition methods employed, the organization and storage of data, their completeness, and their scope. This study develops metadata for intensive web archiving. Several web archiving projects are reviewed and analyzed. As a result, administrative metadata has been suggested in addition to the basic elements from the Dublin Core.

In this study, national web archiving cases were reviewed and interface types and characteristics were examined. Five interface categories and fourteen evaluation criteria were selected. As for the OASIS, Korean national web archiving project, functions of retrieval interface and user support interface were insufficient and need to be reinforced. Other recommended improvement plans were; diversifications of the subject area of web contents, sharing the web acquisition, make up the special collection, visualization of archiving time and trends, systematic performance of the archiving strategy, and active collaboration with international organization.

This study try to establish the method on the archiving of a village experimentally. For this study three standpoints were investigated. We discriminate between the theory and practice on general archives management and village archiving. We should grasp that the practice of village archiving is a means to the movement of village community reconstruction. And we clear up the point that village archiving head for the community ownership and the communication. This study clarified what were the constituent units in a village and what were the archives that were producted by the constituent units in a village. It is helpful for the development of the strategy on a village to identify concretely the objects of village archiving. The main body who lead the village archiving is not archivist only. But he should be a man who serve his community and have the competency to deal with archives professionally simultaneously. The suggestion of village archiving in this study has the meaning that Korean archivists should get over the model of elite so that seek after new way of the going down to the archiving fields. village, community, the ordinance for the reconstruct of the beautiful village community, activistic archivist, archiving movement going down to the village fields, archiving by participation of community.

This study investigates successful overseas cases and projects of digital archiving of historical materials in order to develop continuous digital archiving strategies in this rapidly changing digital information environment. The analysis is based on the information life cycle perspective of collection, preservation, access and use of digital archives as well as the concept of digital curation. Through the analysis, the study proposes nation-wide digital archiving policies, long-term preservation and standardization strategies for continuous services, and collaborative financial support strategies between institutions and countries for successful digital archiving and continuous improvement.

The purpose of this study is to review what we have done and to identify what we have to do to be successful with Web archiving which is important to preserve our cultural heritage for the next generation. Some characteristics of Web resources as information sources were identified and some difficulties with Web archiving were discussed. The outcome of national and/or international Web archiving projects including Kurturarw3, PANDORA and Internet Archive were reviewed. Policy issues and technological problems of Web archiving we have to solve were listed.

The purpose of this study is to develop a collaborative model for the archiving and preservation of an electronic book(e-book). In this study the way of the archiving and preservation for the e-book to deal with the technology evolution was suggested. Accordingly, the survey was made for obtaining the present status of the production and distribution of the domestic Online e-book. It is the same as the operation status of the archiving and preservation for the Online e-book worldwide. A collaborative model for accessible to preserved data, regardless of time period, was proposed for archiving the e-book, based on the OAIS reference model. There are three different models, suggested for domestic; the safe place model by law, the individual preservation/Peer-to-Peer model, and the preservation center model for e-book archiving. Among them, the safe place model by law was proposed for the optimum model of archiving an e-book at present.
