In a modern society, as the architectural materials have become main subject of the interior design expression, their influence on architecture is becoming substantial. There are multiple ways of using architectural materials. The aesthetic value is greatly enhanced by the fact that the architectural materials can be used to create unrestricted and new expression. The modern time is uncertain and rapidly changing. In this era of chaos and diversity, the materialism is being superseded by idealism. Speedy exchange of information among the countries with development of new technology and materials increases the possibility of new expressions. Each new material that adds new value influences on the other art as well as the architecture. These characteristics of new expressions could be viewed as having close relationship with current idealism. Therefore, the study on the expressive trend of architectural materials will provide better understanding and translation on expression of interior design. At this point, this study has a purpose in not only understanding architectural materials but also researching for the characteristics of expression on interior design with consideration of paradigmatic variation in modern times.

The professional alliance between disciplines of architecture and furniture design in the interwar years as displayed in the prominent architectural exhibitions of the era is interesting in the context of professionalization of American architecture. The way furniture design gradually became part of the architectural shows not only reflected but provided the practical field in which the architectural institution sought, under the new social order since the mid 1910s, a new professional cast-departing from the former milieu in the realm of high-art by the Beaux-Arts Movement. Exhibitions held by the Architectural League of New York in the 1920s revealed that the early impetus for reformation toward efficiency had been subsumed by the system of Beaux-Arts. By contrast, "The Architect and the Industrial Arts" show of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in which the most prominent architects of the era exercised their professional expertise in the design of "Moderne Style" interior furnishings, clearly shows how architects, in the milieu of expanding commercial market, sought to align their profession as industrial designers.

Recently, most of the construction companies is being degraded due to the overall construction recession profitability. Among them, order quantity of the architectural and engineering firms are trend to decrease except for large companies over a certain size. In particular, small companies are facing more difficulties. This study was conducted expert interview method to extract the main cause of profitability degradation of a small-sized design engineering companies. And, we are proposes a critical influence factors through survey about extracted factors. The results of this study are expect to help the competitiveness of architectural design firm.

This paper presents how to establish the decision support model for the cooperative design in order to improve design coordination and optimize the building system. With this view, the paper presents the method that analyzes decision making participants of each building system on drawings. It also presents the combination evaluation method from the viewpoint of performance, cost and constructability to improve the decision making process in cooperative design.

The importance of engineering design increases due to the expansion of engineering education certification. But there are not much teaching methods and examples of engineering design to be referred to the college classes. This paper introduces a new teaching and learning method of Action Learning adopted to a engineering design class in the Department of Architectural Engineering, J University in Korea. The class included a team project to find problems of facilities or safety management factors in a building construction site, and to provide the alternatives to solve the problems. The Action Learning helped to improve the learning effect of students and to increase the quality of the project deliverables.

This study is targeted at the people who live in Jecheon. It investigated the general term concerning the preservation and reuse of architectural heritage, the awareness of local architectural heritage, and the civic consciousness about the relationship between architectural heritage and townscape. And, it is aimed to be used as a basic data for the preservation and reuse of architectural heritage and townscape in Jecheon. This study was conducted using the survey and the statistical analysis. The result are as followings. Firstly, when the policy related to the preservation and reuse of architectural heritage in Jecheon is to be made and proceeded, it should actively promote and reflect the views of the citizens. Secondly, it should be to develop the available utilization programs and to find the method to increase the accessibility of architectural heritage. Thirdly, it should be considered the method which can give the economic benefits to owners and the enjoyment of culture to the citizens. Lastly, the long term plan will be required for a distinctive townscape in Jecheon. And, when modern architecture adjacent to the architectural heritage is built, we should be considered the design which can be expressed the historicity of architectural heritage.

소프트웨어 재사용의 문제는 두 가지 측면에서 검토해 볼 수 있는 데, 하나는 이미 개발이 완료된 소프트웨어 컴포넌트를 조합하여 재사용하는 방법이고, 다른 한 가지는 소프트웨어들이 공통적으로 갖는 구조적인 패턴을 정의해서 재사용 하는 방법이다. 물론 이 두 가지가 소프트 웨어의 구조설계에 중요한 방법이긴 하지만, 이 두 방식의 차이점은 소프트웨어 컴포넌트는 프로그램 컨텐츠가 채워진 빌딩블록들을 재사용 하여 소프트웨어를 쉽게 구성하는 것인 반면, 소프트웨어 구조패턴은 빌딩블록의 내용보다는 빌딩블록의 틀, 즉 빌딩블록간의 연결을 통한 구조화에 더 관심이 있는 것이라고 하겠다. 논문은 후자의 경우와 같이 소프트웨어 응용에서 많이 발견되는 구조적인 소프트웨어 패턴을 분석하고 체계적으로 정의하여, 이 패턴들이 소프트웨어 구조 설계 시 유용하게 활용될 수 있도록 하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 특히, 이제까지 소프트웨어의 구조적인 패턴을 설명하는 데 중요한 모델이 되어 왔던 소프트웨어 구조 스타일을 분석하고 정형화하여 다양한 응용의 소프트웨어 구조설계에 활용될 패턴형 컴포넌트를 정의하고자 한다.

This study analyzes the new possibility of design through the research for the expression of cladding design architectural materials, and applies to connection with creative design concept. In these modern days, architectural materials became the subject of expression as itself thanks to the development of new technology and materials. The physical properties of materials and their beauty value made possible the variety and possibility of expression in space design. The expressional properties of materials can lead mutual communication between commodity and brand by association, presenting brand image and the distinction of its value. Therefore, the trends of designed material expression in space design according to modern aspect can offer the possibility of material space design for ahead. This study suggest an alternative idea for revitalizing design by materials.

The current rapid development of artificial intelligence technology has involved all aspects of the production field. The development of various algorithms and programs has pushed artificial intelligence to a new peak. Due to its complexity and diversity in the field of architectural design, the positive impact of artificial intelligence technology on architectural design is discussed from the perspective of conceptual design. For museums, which are one of the increasingly popular public facilities, the introduction of artificial intelligence technology has provided certain help in assisting the conceptual design of the museum. This article analyzes the theoretical and practical support of artificial intelligence technology in improving conceptual design, analyzing the architectural appearance, structural layout, materials, etc., to increase the feasibility and practicality of assisting conceptual design. It has certain reference significance for building a modern, advanced, international and interactive modern museum.
