CO₂ Weldability of Zn Coated Steel Sheet(3);Effect of Process Condition on the Generation of Weld Defects (아연도금강판의 CO₂ 용접특성(3);용접결함의 발생에 미치는 시공조건의 영향)

  • Formation of the weld defect, such as a blowhole and a pit in lap-jointed fillet arc welds has been a serious problem in arc welding of Zn-coated steel sheet. In this study, the relationship among welding conditions, welding materials and defect formation was investigated in order to minimize these defects in the CO₂ welds. In addition, the arc stability of the commercial welding wires was evaluated for revealing their effects on defect formation. Main conclusions obtained are as follows:1) There was no difference between shear tensile strength of the sound welds and that of the welds with blowholes whose diameters are less than 0.5mm. However, the welds with blowholes whose diameters are equal or larger than 0.5mm and pits exhibited tensile strength 10~20% and 30~40% lower than that of the sound welds respectively.2) The optimum welding condition to effectively prevent or reduce the weld defects formation are as follows:- The welding variables of 220A-23V-100cm/min and 120A-190V-30cm/min were recommended for minimizing the weld defects.- The gap between the two sheets at the lap-joint should be controlled to more than 0.2mm- Solid wire was less susceptible to the formation of the weld defects than the flux-cored wire.- The low welding current condition produced less weld defects than the hihg welding current condition.3) One of the reason why the amount of the defect was reduced at the low welding current was the gas discharging by the active agitation of the molten pool, due to an increasing in the number of the short circuit.   • 이 연구에서는 ESRI사의 ArcGIS 프로그램을 이용하여, 한반도 남한지역 중 기후변화시나리오에 의한 강수량이 제공되지 않는 해안선지역에 대해 기후변화시나리오를 이용하여 장래 강수량을 생성할 수 있는 모형을 개발하였다. 기상청에서 제공하는 기후변화 시나리오에 의한 장래강수데이터의 경우 복잡한 해안선지역에 대해 장래 강수데이터를 제공하고 있지 않기 때문에 최근의 지형도를 적용하여 기상청에서 제공하지 않는 지역에 대해 보완격자를 생성하고, 공간보간 기법을 이용하여 이를 해결할 수 있다. 1km 격자단위의 강수데이터를 생성하기 위하여 GIS내에 여러 툴(tools)의 기능을 단계적으로 모형화하여 순서화된 작업을 자동적으로 수행할 수 있는 model builder를 사용하였다. 데이터 변환작업을 위한 전처리, 데이터 보간 추출 기능과 공간보간기법을 적용하여 기후변화 시나리오가 적용된 데이터누락지역에서의 장래 강수예측데이터를 생성할 수 있도록 하였다. 기상청에서 제공하는 RCP 8.5 시나리오를 이용하였고, 일부 해안선과 섬 지역에 대해 장래강수량을 생성할 수 있는 보간기법이 적용된 모형으로 한반도 남한지역 중 강수자료가 제공되지 않는 총 4,186개의 격자에 대해 적합한 공간보간기법을 선택하여, 일단위 및 월단위 강수자료를 생산할 수 있도록 하였다. 기상청에서 제공하는 강수데이터의 경우 'ASCII' 파일 형식으로 기후변화 데이터를 제공하기 때문에 사용자가 별도의 프로그램을 이용하여 강수예측자료를 얻어야 하는 문제가 있다. 강수예측자료를 텍스트파일 형태로 사용자가 원하는 좌표를 선택 한 후 데이터를 추출할 수 있도록 격자화하여 저장되도록 하였다.

Effect of Delay Time Control on the Spatter Generation in $CO_2$ Welding ($CO_2$ 용접에서 스패터 발생에 미치는 지연시간 제어의 영향)

  • For the last two decades, waveform control techniques have been successively developed and applied for the inverter welding machines resulting in the substantial reduction of spatter generated in CO₂ welding. One of the constituents commonly involved in those techniques is to delay the instant of current increase to some extent after the initiation of short-circuiting. Although this technique has been known to be quite effective in reducing the spatter generation through the suppression of is instantaneous short circuiting, the delay time necessary for minimum spatter has not been clearly understood. In this study, the control system for varying the delay time was constructed so that the spatter generation rates could be measured over a wide range of delay time, 0.29-2.0 msec. As a result of this study, it was demonstrated that spatter generation rate(SGR) sharply decreased at delay time of 0.6 msec and longer accompanied with the change in characteristics of short circuit mode from the instantaneous short-circuiting(ISC) dominant to normal short-circuiting(NSC) dominant. Another feature that have been found in current waveform of over 0.6msec was the creation of current pulse right after the arc reignition stage. Because of this current pulses weld pool oscillated in wave-like fashion and it looks like to play an important role in developing short circuiting between electrode and weld pool.

  • WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) Ring에서 경로과 고정된 파장할당문제는 Circular Arc Graph(CAG)에서의 vertex coloring문제와 동일하다. 본 연구에서는 극대독립집합(Maximal Independent Set)으로 vertex를 cover하는 정수계획법 모형을 제시하고 이를 효율적으로 풀 수 있는 column generation approach와 실험결과를 제시하겠다.

  • In this paper, the feasibility of generating solar power near an abandoned quarry is examined with the objectives of resolving the essential problems that quarries encounter, such as rockfalls and space usage issues. On an abandoned quarry site in Sadang, Seoul, Republic of Korea, two different PV installation methods were analyzed. The first is attaching PV directly on the quarry slope. Since there are no corresponding safety standards and precedents for installing solar panels directly on slopes, the power generation potential was calculated by using topographic data and reasonable assumptions. The surface area of cut slope section was extracted from the Digital Elevation Model(DEM) via ArcGIS and Python programming to calculate the tilt and power capacity of installable panels. The other approach is installing PV as a rockfall barrier, and the power generation potential was analyzed with the assumption that the panel is installed in the direction of facing solar irradiation. For the derivation of power generation, the renewable energy generation analysis program SAM(System Advisor Model) was used for both methods. According to the result, quarries that have terminated resource extraction and remain devastated have the potential to be transformed into renewable energy generation sites.

  • A method of two and three dimensional orthogonal grid generation with control of spacing by using the covariant Laplace equation is Presented. An important feature of the methodology is its ability to control effectively the grid spacing especially near the boundaries still maintaining good orthogonality in whole field. The method is based on the concept of decomposition of the global transformation into consecutive transformation of an approximate conformal mapping and au auxiliary orthogonal mapping to have linear and uncoupled equations. Control of cell spacing is based on the concept of reference arc length, and orthogonal correction is performed in the auxiliary domain. It is concluded that the methodology can successfully generate well controlled orthogonal grids around bodies of 2 and 3 dimensional configurations.

  • Watershed topographical data is essential for the management for water resources and watershed management in terms of hydrology analysis. Collecting watershed topographical and meteorological data is the first step for simulating hydrological models and calculating hydrological components. This study describes a specialized Web-based Geographic Information Systems, Soil Water Assessment Tool model data generation system, which was developed to support SWAT model operation using Web-GIS capability for map browsing, online watershed delineation and topographical and meteorological data extraction. This system tested its operability extracting watershed topographical and meteorological data in real time and the extracted spatial and weather data were seamlessly imported to ArcSWAT system demonstrating its usability. The Web-GIS would be useful to users who are willing to operate SWAT models for the various watershed management purposes in terms of spatial and weather preparing.

  • Thermal characteristics according to the bearing preload arc studied for the four type spindles with high frequency motor. For the analysis. three dimensional models are built considering heat transfer characteristics such as natural and forced convection coefficients, Bearing and motor are main heat generation, and heat generation by ball bearings as a function of load. viscosity and gyroscopic moment effect are considered. Unsteady-state temperature distributions and thermal displacements according to the bearing preload are analyzed by using the finite clement method.
