This paper deals with the experimental evaluation of the performance of R.C beams strengthened with aramid, glass and carbon fiber sheets. To evaluate the effects of FRPs on the flexural strengthening of the beams, strengthening ratio is adopted as a main variable. Seven beams were fabricated and strengthened under same tensile strength based on ultimate strength of FRPs and strengthening length. Deflection, flexural stiffness, strain of FRP, ultimate load and failure load are compared to evaluate the effects of FRPs on structural behavior of retrofitted beams. The results shows that little effects of FRPs on behavior of strengthened beams can be estimated and the fail modes are more influenced on structural behavior than that.

Recently new rehabilitation techniques have been proposed with advanced composite materials like carbon fiber, aramid, glass fiber sheet and so forth. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the mechanical characteristics of reinforced concrete columns confined with carbon fiber sheet and evaluate the degree of their strengthening effect. For the test, the specimen size of column is 15cm$\times$15cm$\times$90cm reinforced with 4 number of main bars of 10 mm diameter, tied bars of 6 mm diameter and slenderness ratio 20. Columns were wrapped with carbon fiber sheet along the column length. It is necessary to make some assumption regarding the confinement of carbon fiber sheet to apply to reinforced concrete columns under concentric loads. The strength gain effect of columns confined with carbon fiber sheet could be predicted using the proposed equation.

Recently, many researchers have performed R&D about strengthening of R/C with steel plates, carbon fiber sheets. aramid fiber sheets and glass fiber sheets, and so on. However most of research were limited in study of flexural strengthening of R/C beams. This paper shows the results of an experimental study on shear reinforcement of deep beams using Glass Fiber Sheet in relation to shear-span ratio. strengthening orientation and anchorage. The results prove that shear failure is governed by reinforced orientation. adherence and anchorage. Additional anchorage of fibers does not only cause the improvement in the internal resistance, but also control the brittle shear failure of specimen after reaching the maximum load.

Repair and rehabilitation of existing structures is becoming a major part of construction, both in the industrially developed and developing countries. Advanced high strength composites are being utilized more and more for these applications because they are much stronger than steel, non-corrosive, and light. The light weight reduces the construction cost and time sustantially. The fibers are normally made of aramid, carbon, or glass and the binders are typically epoxies or esters. One major disadvantage of these composites is the vulnerability to fire. In most instance, the temperature cannot exceed $300^{\cire}C$. Since carbon and glass can substain high temperatures, an inorganic polymer is being evaluated for use as a matrix. The matrix can sustain more than $1000^{\cire}C$. The results reported in this paper deal with the mechanical properties of carbon composites made with the inorganic polymer and the behavior strengthened reinforced concrete beams. The results indicate that the new matrix can be successfully utilized for a number of applications.
Bonding metal and textile components to rubber has always posed a problem. In this paper, an attempt had been made to modify textile and metal surfaces for bonding with rubber. The metal surfaces were modified using silane coupling agents and textile fibers were modified using plasma polymerization techniques. Some results on adhesion of metals to a range of sulfur-cured rubber compounds using a combination of organofunctional silanes are given here. The treatment was not only effective for high-sulfur compounds but also for low-sulfur com pounds as used in engine mounts and even for some semi-EV compounds. Coatings of plasmapolymerized pyrrole or acetylene were deposited on aramid and polyester tire cords. Standard pull-out force adhesion measurements were used to determine adhesion of tire cords to rubber compounds. The plasma coatings were characterized by various techniques and the performance results are explained in an interpenetrating network model.

In this paper, it is the effect of using fiber sheet (Carbon Fiber Sheet & Aramid Fiber Sheet) and Steel Plate for reinforced concrete beam, 25 specimens are tested, 16 specimens for bending capacity and the other are for shear capacity. In the case of bending testing, the kind and quantity of the reinforcement materials, the bondage and the existence of crack were selected as experimental variables. And in the case of shear testing, it is testified the effect of reinforcement with the variables of the method of reinforcement (side type and U type). As a result, using the reinforcement meterials can increase the capacity of bending stress.
Recently, fiber-reinforced plastic(FRP) wraps are blown as an effective material for the enhancement and rehabilitation of aged concrete structures. The purpose of this investigation is to experimentally investigate behavior of concrete cylinder wrapped with FRP materials. Experimental parameters include compressive strength of concrete cylinder, FRP material, and confinement ratio. This paper presents the results of experimental studies on the performance of concrete cylinder specimens externally wrapped with aramid, carbon and glass fiber reinforced Polymer sheets. Test specimens were loaded in uniaxial compression. Axial load, axial and lateral strains were investigated to evaluate the stress-strain behavior, ultimate strength ultimate strain etc. Test results showed that the concrete strength and confinement ratio, defined as the ratio of transverse confinement stress and transverse strain were the most influential factors affecting the stress-strain behavior of confined concrete. More FRP layers showed the better confinement by increasing the compressive strength of test cylinders. In case of test cylinders with higher compressive strength, FRP wraps increased the compressive strength but decreased the compressive sham of concrete test cylinders, that resulted in prominent brittle failure mode. The failure of confined concrete was induced by the rupture of FRP material at the stain, being much smaller than the ultimate strain of FRP material.

Recently, fiber reinforced polymers(FRP) composite materials are used extensively in the rehabilitation of concrete structural members. A main application is to wrap beams and columns using the continuous fibers sheets to improve their strength and ductility. The corner chamfering affects significantly the performance of the continuous fibers sheets, and could lead to environmental problem with waste and dust. The main purpose of this paper is to verify the effect of corner conditions on the strength of the continuous fiber sheets, and to introduce new attached components which can avoid environmental problem. A total of 15 specimens were tested and carefully checked for three types of continuous fiber sheets(carbon, glass, and aramid) and three types of corner conditions(non-chamfering, chamfering, and device attaching). It is proved that the devices proposed in this research have some capabilities to use for RC member. But additional research will be needed for commercializing.
In this paper, usability and use force on the structure and does not have a big impact on the development of existing materials developed using materials to their full impact/blast resistant Complex configuration on the panel that can be implemented. Each material of the characteristics so that they can exert in layers of layer formed panels in layers. Structure of the general structure is to keep strength and endurance, maintenance and minimize the damage can be utilized for knee brace to do basic research, for creating the panel.

The paper deals with the rupture strain estimation of fiber sheets. The experimental study involved tensile testing of 120 fiber sheet specimens and bending testing of 72 concrete beams strengthened with various types of fiber sheets(carbon, glass, and aramid fiber). Concrete beams have 3 types of reinforcement ratios. Rupture strains of fiber sheet specimens are determined by tensile tests to be a little less than the tensile failure strain by the catalog, independently on the number of fiber sheet layers. It is shown that the rupture strain of fiber sheet bonded to reinforced concrete beam is not constant, but decreases as the fiber sheet layer increases. Based on these results, the rupture fiber sheet strain is estimated.
