Solar arrays and antennas of the satellite are usually stowed within the dimensions of the launch-vehicle fairing and deployed in the orbit. To solve such multibody dynamic problems, differential equations and algebraic equations are simultaneously solved, and special solution techniques are required. In this paper, Lagrange multipliers associated with the constraints are iteratively computed by monotonically reducing an appropriately defined constraint error vector, and the resulting equation of motion is solved by a well-established ODE technique. Defomable bodies as well as rigid bodies are treated, and applications to satellite solar arrays are explained.

The problem of Smith-Purcell radiation by a strip grating over a groundeddielectric slabl is analyzed by use of the equivalence principle, Floquet's theorem, and the method of moment. the relative radiation intensities of the space harmonics, computed by use of the proposed method, for the appropriately chosen charge velocities and grating dimensions are presented. In particular, some relationships between the smith-purcell radiation and the leaky-wave radiation in the proposed geometry are investigated.

This paper proposes an image based method for arranging ship blocks in a dockyard. The problem of appropriately arranging numerous blocks has to be carefully planned because it has close relation to the effectiveness of the whole working process. To implement the system, the block shape and feature points have to be obtained from block image. The block arrangement system can be implemented by the fusion of the block shape extraction and image matching technology.

When the available sample is multiply Type-II censored, the maximum likelihood estimators of the location and the scale parameters of two- parameter exponential distribution do not admit explicitly. In this case, we propose some estimators which are linear functions of the order statistics and also propose some estimators by approximating the likelihood equations appropriately. We compare the proposed estimators by the mean squared errors.

Ethernet is one of the most successful LAN technologies. Now gigabit ethernet is available in real network and some network interface cards(NIC) supports TCP segment offloading (TSO), IP checksum offloading(ICO), Jumbo frame and interrupt moderation. If we use this features appropriately, we obtain high throughput with low CPU utilization. This paper represents the network performance by varying above features.

SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is applied to develop a web based monitoring system for manufacturing processes. SNMP agents in manufacturing facilities collects monitoring data from machine controllers and send them to a web-server to be stored in a database by an SNMP managing agent. Clients can access these data using any web-browser. This study developed these agents and MIB (Management Information Base), a protocol to represent the status of machines, that can be used appropriately to monitor manufacturing processes.

In this paper, an integrated design of fault detection, diagnosis and reconfigurable control tot multi-input and multi-output system is proposed. It is based on the interacting multiple model estimation algorithm, which is one of the most cost-effective adaptive estimation techniques for systems involving structural and/or parametric changes. This research focuses on the method to recover the performance of a system with failed actuators by switching plant models and controllers appropriately. The proposed scheme is applied to a fault tolerant control design for flight control system.

This paper deals with the robustness properties of the minimum disparity estimation in linear regression models. The estimators defined as statistical quantities whcih minimize the blended weight Hellinger distance between a weighted kernel density estimator of the residuals and a smoothed model density of the residuals. It is shown that if the weights of the density estimator are appropriately chosen, the estimates of the regression parameters are robust.

The problem of estimating a smooth distribution function F at a point $\tau$ based on randomly right censored data is treated under certain smoothness conditions on F . The asymptotic performance of a certain class of kernel estimators is compared to that of the Kap lan-Meier estimator of F($\tau$). It is shown that the .elative deficiency of the Kaplan-Meier estimate. of F($\tau$) with respect to the appropriately chosen kernel type estimate. tends to infinity as the sample size n increases to infinity. Strong uniform consistency and the weak convergence of the normalized process are also proved.
