Nonlinear analysis of the reinforced concrete beam subjected to torsion is presented. Seventeen equations involving seventeen variables are derived from the equilibrium equation, compatibility equation, and the material constitutive laws to solve the torsion problem. Newton method was used to solve the nonlinear simultaneous equations and efficient algorithms are proposed. Present model covers the behavior of reinforced concrete beam under pure torsion from service load range to ultimate stage. Tensile resistance of concrete after cracking is appropriately considered. The softened concrete truss model and the average stress-strain relations of concrete and steel are used. To verify the validity of Present model, the nominal torsional moment strengths according to ACI-99 code and the ultimate torsional moment by present model are compared to experimental torsional strengths of 55 test specimens found in literature. The ultimate torsional moment strengths by the present model show good results.

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a rare but life-threatening one syndrome of excessive immune activation. This immune dysregulation disorder is prominently associated with cytopenias and combinations of clinical signs and extreme inflammation symptoms. For survival, it is important to diagnose early and treat appropriately. We report a case of 10 years old boy who was admitted to the hospital with a month history of fever and cervical lymph node enlargement. There were signs of hemophagocytic histiocytosis in the lymph node and bone marrow. The etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis are reviewed.

This research conducted between March and December of 2005 has focused on analyzing a diverse range of educational services provided by English native-speaking instructors teaching in Korea. This study includes quantitative research findings from 238 university students. This dual-semester research study focuses on our most recent Korean EFL (English as a Foreign Language) programs provided for university students who wish to improve their English ability. Many students hope to partake in lectures taught by Native English Speaking teachers (hereafter NS teachers), and many universities are also willing to open additional courses for these students. However, in order for lectures to be most effective, NS instructors need to be appropriately trained or qualified teachers in order to successfully educate their students. Furthermore, NS teachers need to constantly review their teaching styles and strategies to allow for professional development and to ensure an improvement in their teaching methodology. Overall, this research provides whole English lecture views of NS teachers that is data-driven regarding designing, implementing, evaluating, and reforming the education of English taught by NS teachers working in Korea.

A semitransparent photovoltaic-thermal (PV/T) air collector can produce electricity and heat simultaneously. To maximize the thermal and overall efficiency of the semitransparent PV/T air collector, its availability should be maximum; this can be determined through a Markov analysis. In this paper, a Markov model is developed to select an optimized number of semitransparent PV modules in service with five states and two states by considering two parameters, namely failure rate (λ) and repair rate (μ). Three artificial neural network (ANN) models are developed to obtain the minimum cost, minimum temperature, and maximum thermal efficiency of the semitransparent PV/T air collector by setting its type appropriately and optimizing the number of photovoltaic modules and cost. An attempt is also made to achieve maximum thermal and overall efficiency for the semitransparent PV/T air collector by using ANN after obtaining its minimum temperature and available solar radiation.

Passive, semi-active and active dampers have been used to dissipate energy in mechanical systems. Semi-active dampers have higher performance than passive dampers and require lower power to operate than active dampers. Its damping characteristics can be changed appropriately for varying conditions. In this paper, we developed a semi-active damper based on Magnetorheological(MR) fluid. MR fluid has a variable damping characteristics proportional for the magnetic field intensity. It has several advantages such as high strength, low viscosity, robustness in impurities and wide temperature range of operational stability. We designed a constrained rotary MR damper base on valve mode which can dissipate more energy per unit volume. The system with Bingham characteristics is obtained and proved by the experiment.

For linear descriptor systems, we consider the $H_{INFTY}$ controller design problem via output feedback. Both static output feedback and dynamic one are discussed. First, in the case of static output feedback, we reduce our control problem to solving a bilinear matrix inequality (BMI) with respect to the controller coefficient matrix, a Lyapunov matrix and a matrix related to the descriptor matrix. Under a matching condition between the descriptor matrix and the measured output matrix (or the control input matrix), we propose setting the Lyapunov matrix in the BMI as being block diagonal appropriately so that the BMI is reduced to LMIs. For fixed-order dynamic $H_{INFTY}$ output feedback, we formulate the control problem equivalently as the one of static output feedback design, and thus the same approach can be applied.

There are many residual nasal deformities following midface injury. The treatment of primary nasal deformities is delayed frequently due to several factors. And then, we usually perform the secondary nasal reconstruction. Autogenous bone is the material of choice for major nasal augmentation. It can be contoured appropriately and securely immobilized. It is rapidly incorporated as living tissue by the recipient bed. We used with iliac bone, contochondral graft and ear cartilage for secondary nasal augmentation and obtained the relatively fair results.

In this study, measured and calculated responses are compared in order to give how the static and dynamic responses occurred in steel railway bridges Sue to train loads could be calculated appropriately. From this, it is known that the static response ratios (measures / calculated) is high comparing to the highway blisses, and the dynamic response should be obtained by the moving mass problem. And it is known that the factors specifies in the present railway bridge code are very safe under the present service speed below 100 km/h, but are not under the rapid transit system above 100 km/h.

PSC box girder bridges are built through the repetitive manufacturing process of concrete segment. However, during the initial segment manufacturing stage, design change may occur frequently due to design errors and interferences between components, resulting in the extension of segment manufacturing period. This paper aims to verify the manufacturing process of PSC box girder segment by 3D simulation technique. All the components of a segment were modelled and assembled by simulation technique and then, some design errors were found and revised appropriately to optimize the manufacturing process of segment. Consequently, 3D simulation technique would be promising to improve the quality of the segment and to reduce its manufacturing time and cost.

Visual art elements can most intuitively express the information expressed by a game character and play an important role in shaping a successful game character. We compares and analyzes the role design in the skins of the "Five Tiger-like Generals" series in Glory of Kings in terms of color, line, graphic and other visual elements. Different visual elements form different visual impacts and influences, which brings people different psychological feelings and presents different emotional colors. The reasonable use of visual elements gives people a refined visual experience and a comfortable psychological feeling, adding more influencing factors to the "immersion" of the game. It not only can strongly attract the attention and love of players, but also spreads traditional culture of the nation and the country. Therefore, whether the visual art elements of a game character can be appropriately used is an important part of the success of the game work. The analysis of visual art elements of game characters has important learning and research value.
