하드디스크 없는 클라이언트 PC를 위한 네트워크 컴퓨팅 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Network Computing System for Diskless Client PCs)

  • DL-NCS (Network Computing System for Diskless Client PCs)에서는 Windows NT에서 제공하는 기능을 최대한 이용하여 윈도우 9x setup 디스켓, RPL 프로파일의 생성방안 등을 제시하고, 원격부팅을 위한 RPL프로토콜을 제안한다. 이렇게 하여 하드디스크 없는 클라이언트가 서버측 하드디스크에 저장된 윈도우 9x를 원격부팅 할 수 있으며, 서버 측 주변장치 및 응용 프로그램들을 공유할 수 있게 구현한다. 윈도우 9x를 DL-NCS 서버로부터 부팅하기 위해 25대 의 클라이언트에서 동시에 PC의 전원 스위치를 켠 결과, 속도 면에서도 독립된 PC에서 부팅 할 때와 비슷한 시간 내에 부팅이 가능했다. 다른 응용프로그램에 대해서도 같은 실험을 실시해 본 결과, 우수한 네트워크 환경을 제공해 줌을 알 수 있었다. 본 DL-NCS를 활용하면, 주변장치 설치비용을 절감할 수 있고, 486SX/DX와 같은 낮은 성능의 PC를 재활용할 수 있으며, 소프트웨어 구입비용을 절감할 수 있다.

비대칭 소스/드레인 수직형 나노와이어 MOSFET의 1T-DRAM 응용을 위한 메모리 윈도우 특성 (Memory window characteristics of vertical nanowire MOSFET with asymmetric source/drain for 1T-DRAM application)

  • 본 연구에서는 1T-DRAM 응용을 위해 Bipolar Junction Transistor 모드 (BJT mode)에서 비대칭 소스/드레인 수직형 나노와이어 소자의 순방향 및 역방향 메모리 윈도우 특성을 분석하였다. 사용된 소자는 드레인 농도가 소스 농도보다 높으며 소스 면적이 드레인 면적보다 큰 사다리꼴의 수직형 gate-all-around (GAA) MOSFET 이다. BJT모드의 순방향 및 역방향 이력곡선 특성으로부터 순방향의 메모리 윈도우는 1.08V이고 역방향의 메모리 윈도우는 0.16V이었다. 또 래치-업 포인트는 순방향이 역방향보다 0.34V 큰 것을 알 수 있었다. 측정 결과를 검증하기 위해 소자 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며 시뮬레이션 결과는 측정 결과와 일치하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 1T-DRAM에서 BJT 모드를 이용하여 쓰기 동작을 할 때는 드레인 농도가 높은 것이 바람직함을 알 수 있었다.

지역정보와 색 정보의 단계적 적용에 의한 능동 객체 추적 (Active Object Tracking based on stepwise application of Region and Color Information)

  • 실시간으로 입력되는 영상으로부터 지역정보 및 색 정보의 단계적 적용에 의한 Pan, Tilt 카메라를 이용한 능동객체추적방법을 제안한다. 환경 잡음을 제거하기 위하여 가우시안 필터링으로 전처리를 행한다. 적응적인 가우시안 혼합 모델링을 이용하여 배경과 객체를 분리한다. 객체가 분할되면 객체의 중심에 가깝게 탐색 윈도우를 설정하고 객체의 색 정보를 추출한다. 추출된 색 정보를 카메라가 이동하는 동안에도 추적이 가능한 CAMShift 추적 알고리즘을 적용하여 객체를 실시간으로 추적한다. 추적에 있어서 객체의 중심점이 화면의 중앙에 놓이도록 Pan, Tilt를 제어함으로써 적합한 추적이 이루어지도록 한다. 실험을 통하여 제안한 방법이 기존의 수동 영역 설정 방법보다 효과적임을 보였다.

비압축성을 고려한 와이퍼 블레이드의 거동 해석 (An Analysis about the Behavior of the Wiper Blade Including Incompressibility)

  • The windshield wiper consists of 4 parts: a blade, an arm, a linkage and a motor. The wiper blade makes contact with the windshield and is designed to be operated normally at an angle of 30~50 degrees to the front glass. If the contact pressure between the wiper blade and windshield surface is too high, noise and wear of the rubber will result. On the other hand, if the contact pressure is too low, the performance will do badly, since foreign substances such as dust and stains will not be removed well. The pressure and friction of the wiper blade has a great influence on its effectiveness in cleaning the front window. This is due to the contact of the rubber with the window. This paper presents the dynamic analysis method to estimate the performance of the flat type blade of the wiper system. The blade has a nonlinear characteristic since the rubber is an incompressible hyper-elastic and visco-elastic material. Thus, Structural dynamic analysis using a complex contact model for the blade is performed to find the characteristics of the blade. The flexible multi-body dynamic model is verified by the comparison between test and analysis result. Also, the optimization using the central composite design table is performed.

Development of a user-friendly training software for pharmacokinetic concepts and models

  • Although there are many commercially available training software programs for pharmacokinetics, they lack flexibility and convenience. In this study, we develop simulation software to facilitate pharmacokinetics education. General formulas for time courses of drug concentrations after single and multiple dosing were used to build source code that allows users to simulate situations tailored to their learning objectives. A mathematical relationship for a 1-compartment model was implemented in the form of differential equations. The concept of population pharmacokinetics was also taken into consideration for further applications. The source code was written using R. For the convenience of users, two types of software were developed: a web-based simulator and a standalone-type application. The application was built in the JAVA language. We used the JAVA/R Interface library and the 'eval()' method from JAVA for the R/JAVA interface. The final product has an input window that includes fields for parameter values, dosing regimen, and population pharmacokinetics options. When a simulation is performed, the resulting drug concentration time course is shown in the output window. The simulation results are obtained within 1 minute even if the population pharmacokinetics option is selected and many parameters are considered, and the user can therefore quickly learn a variety of situations. Such software is an excellent candidate for development as an open tool intended for wide use in Korea. Pharmacokinetics experts will be able to use this tool to teach various audiences, including undergraduates.

사무소 건물의 외피요소가 냉난방 및 조명에너지 소비에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Envelope Factors on Cooling, Heating and Lighting Energy Consumption in Office Building)

  • The objective of this study is to perform an analysis of the heat(heating and cooling) and lighting energy consumption according to the window area ratio and the application of horizontal louver, which is external shading device installed for the purpose of energy savings in office buildings. For this, a building was chosen as a typical example, and the heat and lighting energy consumption was calculated by using the daylight and building energy analysis simulation. The results showed that the total energy consumption, when the lighting control was applied, was reduced by an average of 11.49[%] compared to when there was no lighting control. The smaller the glazing ratio is, the less the total energy consumption is. Also, the application of the horizontal louver increases the total energy consumption under the same condition of glazing ratio.

웹 데이터베이스 응용을 위한 액티브데이터마이닝 컴포넌트 개발 (Development of Active Data Mining Component for Web Database Applications)

  • The distinguished prosperity of information technologies from great progress of e-business during the last decade has unavoidably made software development for active data mining to discovery hidden predictive information regarding business trends and behavior from vary large databases. Therefore this paper develops an active mining object(ADMO) component, which provides real-time predictive information from web databases. The ADMO component is to extended ADO(ActiveX Data Object) component to active data mining component based on COM(Component Object Model) for application program interface(API). ADMO component development made use of window script component(WSC) based on XML(eXtensible Markup Language). For the purpose of investigating the application environments and the practical schemes of the ADMO component, experiments for diverse practical applications were performed in this paper. As a result, ADMO component confirmed that it could effectively extract the analytic information of classification and aggregation from vary large databases for Web services.

An Application Design for Emergency Medical System: A Software Engineering Approach

  • The proposed application design for emergency medical system includes the functions that help securing the window of opportunity for the patients in an emergency situation and efficiently link rescue agency, emergency medical treatment center and patients together. First, the treatment time can be saved at the emergency room by understanding the patient's condition by entering his/her health information such as anamnesis, family history, social history and blood type together with an identification number. Also, if the siren function which signals whereabouts of patients to the rescue crew is used, it will be much easier to find the location of the patient in need. The design allows rescue crew to call the patient to check whether he/she is conscious or not. Just by receiving the call, he/she will be deemed conscious.

등척성 일정 자의 수축 시에 기록한 표면근전도 신호에 대한 근전도 진폭 추정기의 정량적 분석 (Quantitative Analysis of EMG Amplitude Estimator for Surface EMG Signal Recorded during Isometric Constant Voluntary Contraction)

  • The EMG amplitude estimator, which has been investigated as an indicator of muscle force, is utilized as the control input to artificial prosthetic limbs. This paper describes an application of the optimal EMG amplitude estimator to the surface EMG signals recorded during constant isometric %MVC (maximum voluntary contraction) for 30 seconds and reports on assessing performance of the amplitude estimator from the application. Surface EMG signals, a total of 198 signals, were recorded from biceps brachii muscle over the range of 20-80%MVC isometric contraction. To examine the estimator performance, a SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) was computed from each amplitude estimate. The results of the study indicate that ARV(average rectified value) and RMS(root mean square) amplitude estimation with forth order whitening filter and 250[ms] moving average window length are optimal and showed the mean SNR improvement of about 50%, 40% and 20% for each 20%MVC, 50%MVC and 80%MVC surface EMG signals, respectively.

  • In this paper, we propose application training kit using parallel port circuit of standard architecture in computer system. The proposed training kit is verified through the design of hardware board and a virtual driving test using GUI method in VC++ under window XP operating system.
