In order to study the electrocardiogram of small animals authors deviced a fixing apparatus in the ventral resting position of rabbit and an attaching electrodes. Normal electrocardiograms of 8 adult rabbits were studied with author's improved fixing apparatus and electrodes. Leads taken were the standard limb lead, augmented unipolar leads and the unipolar precordial leads. The total numbers of various leads were eleven altogether. Results obtained in this study may be summarized as follows: 1. The details of the methods used to record and measure the six standard frontal plane leads and the five precordial leads of the rabbit electrocardiogram in the ventral resting position were described. The fixing apparatus of rabbits in ventral position are shown in Figure 1 and the attaching electrodes are shown in Figure 2. 2. The electrocardiographic changes in ventral position were more stable than in dorsal position in each lead. 3. The analysis of the amplitude, duration and other values of various waves are shown in Table 1 and Figure 3. 4. The electrocardiogram of rabbits showed decreased heart rate in ventral position than dorsal one. 5. The mean electrical axis of QRS complex in ventral position were +44.12 degrees and in dorsal position were +25.5 degrees.

This paper deals with a comparison of individual and connecting grounding electrode for potential rise. When a test current flowed through grounding electrode, potential rise was measured and analyzed for grounding method using a electrolytic tank in real time. In order to analyze the potential rise of grounding systems, a hemispherical water tank experimental apparatus was studied. Potential rise was measured and analyzed regarding the grounding method and distance by using this apparatus. The apparatus was composed of a hemispherical water tank, AC power supply, a movable potentiometer, and test grounding electrodes. The potential rise was measured by the horizontal moving probe of the potentiometer. The grounding electrodes were designed and fabricated with ground rods on a scale of one-eightieth. Potential rises of individual grounding electrode were higher than those of connecting grounding electrode. The distributions of surface potential are dependent on the distance from grounding electrode.
Press machines and dies are commonly used for 3D curved sheet forming. Using conventional die forming can cause economic problems since various modifications of the die shape are required depending on the product shape. Various types of flexible forming such as multi-point dieless forming (MDF), flexible incremental roll forming have been developed to improve the needed process flexibility. Although MDF can reduce the production cost using reconfigurable dies, it still has significant material loss. Drawbacks such as wrinkling, dimpling, and forming errors can also occur despite continuous investigations to mitigate these defects. A novel sheet forming process for 3D curved surfaces, a flexibly-reconfigurable roll forming (FRRF), has been recently proposed to overcome the economic and technical limitations of current practice. FRRF has no limitation on blank size in the longitudinal direction, and also minimizes or eliminates forming defects such as wrinkling and dimpling. Feasibility studies of FRRF have been conducted using FE simulations for multi-curved shapes and various sheet thicknesses. Therefore, the fabrication of a FRRF apparatus is required for any follow-up studies. In the current study, experiments with reconfigurable rollers were conducted using a simple design pre-FRRF apparatus prior to fabricating the full size FRRF apparatus. There are three candidates for the reconfigurable roller: a bar-type shaft, a flexible shaft, a ground flexible shaft. Among these candidates, the suitable reconfigurable roller for FRRF is determined through various forming tests.
Since hydrate has been discovered on the earth, many numbers of experimental studies have been conducted for characterizing the fundamental properties of hydrates, such as equilibrium conditions, thermodynamic properties, structures, kinetics, etc. It is considered naturally occurred hydrates in porous rocks have a great potential as a future of unconventional energy resources, and the investigations of formation and dissociation of hydrates in porous media are required. In this study, an experimental apparatus was designed to perform experiments of hydrates in porous core. With the apparatus developed, firstly, isochoric experiments were conducted to find hydrate equilibrium conditions in porous media, and the results were compared with reference data to verify experimental apparatus and methods in this study. Secondly, experiment of formation was examined by observing the behaviors of pressure and electrical resistance and the effects of initial water saturation on formation were analysed.
Autophagy is a degradation pathway in eukaryotic cells in which aging proteins and organelles are sequestered into double-membrane vesicles, termed autophagosomes, which fuse with vacuoles to hydrolyze cargo. The key step in autophagy is the formation of autophagosomes, which requires different kinds of vesicles, including COPII vesicles and Atg9-containing vesicles, to transport lipid double-membranes to the phagophore assembly site (PAS). In yeast, the cis-Golgi localized t-SNARE protein Sed5 plays a role in endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-Golgi and intra-Golgi vesicular transport. We report that during autophagy, sed5-1 mutant cells could not properly transport Atg8 to the PAS, resulting in multiple Atg8 dots being dispersed into the cytoplasm. Some dots were trapped in the Golgi apparatus. Sed5 regulates the anterograde trafficking of Atg9-containing vesicles to the PAS by participating in the localization of Atg23 and Atg27 to the Golgi apparatus. Furthermore, we found that overexpression of SFT1 or SFT2 (suppressor of sed5 ts) rescued the autophagy defects in sed5-1 mutant cells. Our data suggest that Sed5 plays a novel role in autophagy, by regulating the formation of Atg9-containing vesicles in the Golgi apparatus, and the genetic interaction between Sft1/2 and Sed5 is essential for autophagy.
We investigated the effect of Arogh, a polyherbal formulation (PHF) on animal models of anxiety based on exploratory behavior. The anxiolytic activity of polyherbal formulation (30, 100, 300 and 500 mg/kg) was studied using various behavioural paradigms such as elevated plus maze (EPM), light/dark apparatus (LDA), open field apparatus (OFA), hole board apparatus (HBA). Diazepam (1 mg/kg) was used as a standard anxiolytic drug. The effect of PHF (100 and 300 mg/kg) on serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline mediated behaviour was studied by lithium induced head twitches in rats, haloperidol induced catalepsy in mice and clonidine induced hypothermia in rats respectively. In EPM, PHF (100, 300 and 500 mg/kg) significantly (P < 0.05) increased the time spent in open arms and the number of entries in open arms. In LDA, PHF (100, 300 and 500 mg/kg) significantly (P < 0.05) increased the time spent in lit zone. In OFA, PHF (100, 300 and 500 mg/kg) significantly (P < 0.05) increased the number of assisted rearing and the number of squares traversed. In HBA, PHF (100, 300 and 500 mg/kg) significantly (P < 0.05) increased the number of head poking. In lithium induced head twitches, PHF (100 and 300 mg/kg) significantly (P < 0.05) decreased the number of head twitches. In haloperidol induced catalepsy, PHF (300 mg/kg) decreased the duration of catalepsy significantly (P < 0.05) at 60 min. In clonidine-induced hypothermia, PHF (300 mg/kg) did not modify the effect. Drugs must be carefully assessed on EPM test and therefore in the present study EPM is supported by other tests. Present study indicates that Arogh, a polyherbal formulation possess anxiolytic activity. It diminished serotonergic transmission and decreased the duration of catalepsy indicating potentiation of dopaminergic transmission. Thus, Arogh a polyherbal formulation contains bioactive principles which possess anxiolytic activity and modified 5-HT and DA mediated behaviour.

It is very difficult to prepare a lab. test specimen from weak rock masses affected by faults, highly fractured zone or weathered zone. In conventional method of in situ direct shear test a rock block is sheared inside galleries, where reactions for the hydraulic jacks are available. A new in situ direct shear test apparatus has been developed in this study to perform the test inside galleries as well as open pit conditions. The apparatus is composed of normal and shear reaction plates including load transfer plates, hydraulic cylinder systems, load cells, multistage shear boxes with fixing devices, and needle rollers. Maximum size of the test block is $400{\times}400{\times}460$ mm, and procedures of the test block preparation has been suggested. To explore the field applicability of in situ direct shear test apparatus, proper test block site was investigated by extensive geological field survey. In situ direct shear test has been successful in producing most of information related to strength and deformability of the weak rock.

This study aims to develop a system for diagnosing pulse and disease conditions based on oriental medical classics to collect objective quantitative information in the traditional pulse examination environment that uses fingers. For this purpose, the study suggested a thimble-type sensor unit as the most appropriate pulse analyzer and proposed a traditional method to measure the pulse pressure wave on the spots of cheok, gwan and chon by installing the pulse analyzer on the forefinger, middle finger and medical finger. Then, it was interpretively found that this pulse analyzer enables us to objectively recognize 28 pulses defined in Oriental medical classics including the yukjo pulse, described as the buchimjisak-heosil pulse, and the hong, yoo, hyeok and san pulses. Finally, the study proposed a method to extract key parameters essential to pulse condition diagnosis from the pulse pressure wave measured by this pulse analyzer.
We had investigated combustion properties of starch. Decomposition of starch scavenged by pre-cipitator of spinning factory with temperature were investigated using DSC and TGA. Combustion properties of starch according to amount were checked as temperature variation according to time using spontaneous ignition apparatus. Moreover, combustion properties with blowing or without blowing condition were checked in spontaneous ignition apparatus. As results of thermal analyses, increase in raising temperature causes initial smoldering temperature to move towards low temperature section. In addition, as amount of starch was increased, initial smoldering temperature was lowered. All of combustion forms were smoldering combustion. Initial smoldering temperature was low more slightly with blowing condition than without blowing condition in spontaneous ignition apparatus, which condition made heating value high.
