감즙에 의한 합성섬유의 염색성과 기능성 (Dyeability and Functionality of Synthetic Fabrics treated with Persimmon Juice)

  • This paper was focused on investigating synthetic fabrics treated with persimmon juice by padding mangle repeatedly. The merit of dyeing by pad-dry method was easier color reproduction than dyeing by immersion method. With increasing number of padding, the dyed nylon fabrics showed deeper yellow-red colors, but dyed polyester fabrics had no uniform tendency. The dyed synthetic fabrics had a 3rd grade of ligtht, 4~5th grade of perspiration fastness, 5th grade of stain washing fastness, and 3~5th grade of rubbing fastness. As the number of padding and exposed time to sunlight or UV light increase, the value of K/S and ${\Delta}E$ increased and the colors become much deeper gradually. The color development had completed about 70 hours exposure to UV light. As the padding time of dyeing with persimmon juice increased, stiffness and water repellent property were enhanced, respectively. Also, the dyed synthetic fabrics had good antibacterial activity and deodorization.

개구리밥 추출물 및 개구리밥과 곰보배추 혼합 추출물로 염색한 면직물의 염색성 및 기능성 (Dyeing Properties and Functionality of Cotton Dyed with Extract from Spirodela polyrhiza and Mixture Extracts from Spirodela polyrhiza and Salvia plebeia R. Br.)

  • This study looks into the dyeing properties and functionality of cotton fabrics dyed in both the Spirodela polyrhiza extract and the extract resulting from the mixture of Salvia plebeia R. Br. and Spirodela polyrhiza. Since the UV-Vis Spectrum of the methanol extract of Spirodela polyrhiza shows absorption peaks at 256, 268nm, and 345nm, it can be inferred that the compound that Spirodela polyrhiza contains is a flavonoid. In addition, it can also be presumed that, by analyzing the infrared absorption spectrum of Spirodela polyrhiza, the plant contains flavonoid compounds, just like Salvia plebeia R. Br.. The UV protection factors of the cotton fabrics dyed in both the Spirodela polyrhiza extract and the extract from the mixture of Salvia plebeia R. Br. and Spirodela polyrhiza were 50+, presenting outstanding UV protection factors. The deodorization rate of the cotton dyed in the Spirodela polyrhiza extract was between 30 and 120 minutes, and the rate rose from 92% to 97% as time passed. The deodorization rate of the cotton dyed in the extract from the mixture of Salvia plebeia R. Br. and Spirodela polyrhiza increased from 88% to more than 91%. The result also revealed that overall the fastness of color, including color fastness to washing related to change in color, as well as the color fastness to light of the fabric dyed in the extract from the mixture of the two plants improved, compared to the cloth dyed only in Spirodela polyrhiza extract. Furthermore, the antibacterial activity was also strengthened.

수용성 피톤치드(water-soluble phytoncide)를 포함한 복합추출물의 작은소피참진드기(Haemaphysalis longicorins) 기피와 탈취 및 항균 실험 (Experiments on Avoiding and Deodorizing and Antibacterial of Haemaphysalis longicornis (Ixodoidea: Ixodidae) of Complex Extracts Including Water-Soluble Phytoncide)

  • 최근 들어 반려동물을 키우는 가구 수가 증가하고 있다. 그로인해 진드기와 냄새에 대한 관심 또한 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 제충국 추출물(Tanacetum cinerariifolium), 수용성 피톤치드(water-soluble phytoncide)가 진드기 퇴치제로서 효과와 탈취 및 항균 효과가 있는지 알아보기 위하여 연구를 진행하였다. 틱 클라이밍 테스트(Tick climbing test)에서 제충국 추출물(Tanacetum cinerariifolium) 23.33점, 수용성 피톤치드 22.00점으로 높은 기피효과를 보였다. 복합추출물로서의 진드기 기피 효과를 확인하기 위해 위 실험에서 기피 효과가 확인된 제충국 추출물, 수용성 피톤치드를 포함한 복합추출물(Sample이라 함.), 타사 제품(Control이라 함.)로 틱 클라이밍 테스트(Tick climbing test)를 진행하였다. 결과 Sample 13.00점, Control 26.67점으로 Sample이 높은 기피 효과를 나타내었다. 참진드기 실내 기피제 효력 시험법에서도 Sample이 88%, Control이 12%로 우수한 진드기 기피효과를 보인다는 것을 확인하였다. Sample을 가지고 탈취 시험을 진행한 결과 암모니아에서 98.3%, 트리메틸아민에서 99.5%의 탈취 효과를 보여주었으며, 항균시험에서 대장균, 황색포도상구균, 폐렴균 모두 99.9%의 항균 효과를 보여주었다. 본 연구결과를 종합해 볼 때 위 소재를 포함한 복합추출물은 추후 진드기 기피제와 탈취 및 항균에도 효과가 있는 소재로서의 활용 가치가 높다고 판단된다.

Preparation of Functional Antibiotic and Deodorization Pigments Using Surface Modification Method for Special Papermaking

  • In this study, colloidal Ag solution was spouted on the surface of the inorganic pigment using the hybridizer system and the spray nozzle. Then, the surface of the inorganic pigment was modified by titanium dioxide in order to possess antibacterial ability. Nano-sized colloidal Ag was made by using a seed sol method in this study. It was confirmed that the size of particle per unit weight becomes enlarged, as the addition of $AgNO_{3}$ increased, and as the time of reaction increased, in the manufacturing process of nano-sized colloidal Ag. The antibacterial measurement of the inorganic pigment showed that the growth of fungus was reduced as the reaction time increased. It was measured that the antibacterial activity was excellent at fixed time frame, after the antibacterial ability appeared in $5{\sim}7$ hours of the antibacterial inoculation experiment. The experiment of titanium dioxide's Photocatalyst effect showed $60{\sim}70%$ efficiency in about 80 minute reaction time of the dissolution results regarding measurements of benzene. It was shown that more than 90% of the dissolution efficiency was achieved in the reaction time of about 30 minute.

소귀나무 수피(양매피) 추출물을 이용한 견직물의 염색성과 기능성 (Dyeability and Function of Silk Fabrics Using Myrica Rubra rind Extract)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the dyeability and functional properties of dyed fabric with the extract of Myrica rubra rind. For this purpose, the ultraviolet and visible spectra of the bark extracts were investigated. The dyeing temperature, dyeing time, mordant type, mordanting order, mordant concentration and dyeability were investigated. The color fastness based on washing, dry-cleaning, rubbing and light were evaluated by the types of Myrica rubra rind extract used. In addition, the deodorization and antibacterial activity were measured, and the functionality of the silk fabric dyed with the extract of the Myrica rubra rind was evaluated. The result shows that the color strength of the dye was excellent when the Myrica rubra rind was dyed at $80^{\circ}C$ for 80 minutes. The mordant dye color strength was high in the order of Fe mordant> Cu mordant> Al mordant. The dyeability of Al and Cu mordant was high during pre-mordanting compared to Fe mordant, and the dyeability of Fe mordant was high during post-mordanting than Cu and Al mordant. The deodorant property of the dyed fabric stained with the Myrica rubra rind extract was 92.4% and that of antibacterial property was 99.9% for Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria respectively.

TiO2 나노입자를 함유한 PLA 필름의 탈취성과 항균성 (The Deodorization and Antibacterial Activities of PLA Films Embedded with TiO2 Nanoparticles)

  • The effects of $TiO_2$ contents and UV irradiation treatment on the surface properties of PLA films embedded with $TiO_2$ nanoparticle were investigated. Whereas UV irradiation decreased reflectance of the treated PLA films proportionally with increasing UV energy, the reflectance of PLA/$TiO_2$ films increased with increasing UV energy. The UV irradiation treatment caused PLA/$TiO_2$ blend films more polar as indicated in the generation of new carbonyl group and decrease in zeta potentials, which was more pronounced with the introduction of $TiO_2$. Upon UV irradiation, $TiO_2$ particles appeared on the film surface as observed in SEM images. The PLA/$TiO_2$ blend films showed photocatalytic properties such as photobleaching of methylene blue, deodorization of ammonia and antimicrobial activity in comparison with pure PLA films.

키토산/은나노 혼합용액 처리에 의한 환자복 소재 위생 성능 향상 (Improvement of Hygienic Characteristics of Material for Patients Clothing through Treatment with Chitosan/Nanosilver Mixed Solution)

  • 환자복은 생리적 쾌적성이 저하되고, 위생 문제가 심각하게 대두되지만 기존의 소재로는 쾌적성, 위생성 등 환자복으로서의 요구 성능을 충족하기 어려우므로 실제 환자복 소재로 사용되는 면직물의 성능을 개선하고, 가공 효과와 경제적인 측면을 고려한 기능성 가공을 함으로써 위생적 특성의 변화를 도모하였다. 가공제로는 천연고분자이며 생체적합성이 우수한 키토산과 아울러 키토산의 단점을 보완하면서 부가적인 성능을 기대할 수 있는 은나노 용액을 혼합비율에 따라 처리하여 항균성, 소취성, 수분 특성 등의 위생적 특성의 변화를 검토하였다. 가공처리 직물의 항균성은 키토산/은나노 혼합용액의 처리농도가 200ppm 이상에서 아주 우수한 항균성을 보였으며, 황색포도상구균은 10회 세탁 후에도 항균성이 감소되지 않았으나 폐렴간균에 대한 세탁내구성은 크게 저하되었다. 또한 키토산의 비율이 높을수록 아주 우수한 소취성을 보였으며 공기투과도, 투습도, 수분율은 은나노의 혼합비가 커질수록 다소 감소하였는데 이는 은나노 입자의 부착 때문으로 생각되었다.

  • 일회용 위생용품의 탑시트로 사용되는 폴리프로필렌 부직포에 천연고분자이며, 인체친화력이 우수한 키토산을 분자량과 농도를 변화시켜 처리하므로써 기능성 개질화된 부직포의 항균성을 비교하고, 소취성과 공기투과도 및 흡습성, 흡수량 등의 수분 특성을 살펴보았다. 키토산의 처리농도가 증가하고, 고분자량일수록 부착률이 컸으며, 저분자량 키토산 처리포의 경우 겉보기 염착량에 의한 염색성이 더 좋게 나타났다. 수분 특성의 경우, 고분자량의 키토산 처리시 동적흡수율과 흡수량이 더 증가하였다. 키토산 처리로 공기투과도는 모두 향상되었으며, 키토산 처리농도가 증가하고 시간이 경과함에 따라 소취율이 증가하였고, 저분자량의 키토산 처리시 소취효과가 더 우수하였다. 박테리아 균주의 종류와 키토산의 농도에 상관없이 고분자량의 키토산 처리시 항균성이 아주 우수하여 위생용 부직포의 성능 중 가장 중요한 항균성과 수분 특성의 기능성 향상을 위해서는 비교적 분자량이 큰 키토산이 효과적이었다.

레이온계 여름용 직물에서 매염제 종류에 따른 오배자 염색의 색채발현 및 기능성에 관한 연구 (Coloring Effect and Functionality of Rayon Based Cool Fabrics Treated by Various Mordant and Gallnut Extract)

  • Gallnuts are known to exert various pharmaceutical properties that include anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and detoxifying effects. Gallnut extract is thought to be a particularly safe antimicrobial agent for textile application due to its natural origins. Hence, textiles were dyed with gallnut to develop multi-functional clothing material with no harmful effects. In this study, three kinds of cool touch woven fabrics, each comprised of 100% viscose rayon filament, viscose rayon filament/high absorption & quick dry (polyester) filament, and viscose rayon $filament/tencel^{(R)}$ spun yarn, were prepared and used as substrates for gallnut dyeing to especially develop functional cool touch textiles for summer clothing material. On the other hand, gallnut dyeing was conducted with mordanting with iron, lime or alum, which induced different colors on the dyed textiles. Dyed textiles were then investigated by SEM, FTIR, antibacterial test, and antioxidant test. Subsequently, gallnut dyed textiles indicated excellent antibacterial ability and deodorization activity regardless of mordant species. However, only gallnut dyed textiles mordanted with iron and alum showed significant antioxidant ability. In addition, the dyeing processes impair the cool touch feeling of the textiles by changing the micro structure of the textile surface.

Potential of Neutral Extract Prepared by Treating Pinus radiata Bark with NaHCO3 as a Dyestuff

  • This study was conducted to investigate the potential of the neutral extract (NE) prepared by treating P. radiata bark with aqueous NaHCO3 solution as a natural dyestuff. Silk and cotton fabrics were dyed at four different NE concentrations, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, and 2.0% o.w.b. (on the weight of bath). The fabric to liquid ratio of 1 : 50, dyeing temperature of 90℃, and dyeing time of 90 min were used as the fixed condition. The appropriate NE dyeing concentration of silk and cotton fabrics was 1.5% o.w.b. Colors of the dyed silk and cotton fabrics were brown and light brown, respectively. From colorfastness assessment, both dyed silk and cotton showed good washing and rubbing fastness, but poor light fastness. NE dyed fabrics exhibited excellent ammonia deodorization property and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Therefore, NE of P. radiata bark could have the potential for use as a functional brown dyestuff.
