A great deal of attention has been focused on the application of miniaturized piezoelectric transformers to the low power source for the microsystem. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Pb(Mn,W,Sb,Nb)O$_3$-Pb(Zr,Ti)O$_3$ ceramics have been investigated on different calcination(750$^{\circ}C$∼950$^{\circ}C$) and sintering(1100$^{\circ}C$∼1300$^{\circ}C$) temperatures. The perovskitic phase was formed by the solid phase reaction of the oxides. Anisotropic (k$\sub$t/k$\sub$p/) properties of electromechanical coupling coefficient and piezoelectric coefficient have been proven to be depending on processing temperatures. The value of electromechanical coupling factor of K$\sub$p/>0.51 and a mechanical quality factor of Q$\sub$m/>2000 were obtained. The piezoelectric transformer was prepared using this ceramics with the composition of Pb(Mn,W,Sb,Nb)O$_3$-Pb(Zr,Ti)O$_3$ We studied the influence of different processing temperature on the microstructure and piezoelectric properties of complex PZT-based ceramics. and the characteristic of piezoelectric transformer.
Study on the HDDr Characteristics of Nd16Fe76-xB8Zrx (x=0-2.0) Alloys and the Magnetic Properties of the HDDR Materials Nd16Fe76-xB8Zrx (where x=0-2.0) have been studied to see the effect of Zr addition on HDDR characteristics. A particular emphasis was place upon the anisotropy of the HDDR material. Anisotropy of the HDDR powder material has been evaluated by comparing the remanence values of the aligned sample measured along the aligning direction and the direction perpendicular to it. The HDDR characteristics of the alloys were investigated by means of DAT and TPA. Magnetic chracterisation of the HDDR processed materials was performed using a VSM and a TMA. The magnetic domain structure of the HDDR materials was examined by means of polarised microscope using a solid HDDR processed material. It has veen found that small addition (0.1 at %) of Zr to Nd-Fe-B-type alloy retards thedisproportionatio kinetics of the hydrogenated material. Desorption characteristic of the disproportionated materials has been found not to be affected significantly by the Zr addition. The Zr addition has been found to facilitate size of the powder. As the particle size decreases, the intrinsic coercivity decreases radically, and this is explained in terms of structural damage and/or oxidation caused during mechanical milling. It has also been found that the degree of alignment representing the anisotropic character of the HDDR powder is enhanced with decreasing particle size. Alloys with compositions based on

We propose nano-scale Cu direct bonding technology using ultra-high density Cu nano-pillar (CNP) with for high stacking yield exascale 2.5D/3D integration. We clarified the joining mechanism of nano-scale Cu direct bonding using CNP. Nano-scale Cu pillar easily bond with Cu electrode by re-crystallization of CNP due to the solid phase diffusion and by morphology change of CNP to minimize interfacial energy at relatively lower temperature and pressure compared to conventional micro-scale Cu direct bonding. We confirmed for the first time that 4.3 million electrodes per die are successfully connected in series with the joining yield of 100%. The joining resistance of CNP bundle with $80{\mu}m$ height is around 30 m for each pair of $10{\mu}m$ dia. electrode. Capacitance value of CNP bundle with $3{\mu}m$ length and $80{\mu}m$ height is around 0.6fF. Eye-diagram pattern shows no degradation even at 10Gbps data rate after the lamination of anisotropic conductive film.

In this article, magnetic properties of multiferroic bi-layer $BiFeO_3$ (BFO)/$BaTiO_3$ (BTO) thin films were studied. It was found that the magnetization increased by the insertion of BTO buffer layer even though the interfacial stress was slightly relaxed, which indicated a coupling between the ferroelectric and ferromagnetic orders. Furthermore, with slightly increase of BFO film thickness, both BFO and BFO/BTO bi-layer films showed anisotropic magnetic properties with higher in-plane magnetization than the values measured out-of-plane. These are attributable to strain constraint effect at the interface.
Research on interfacial crack formation in orthotropic bi-materials has experienced a notable increase in recent years, driven by growing concerns about structural integrity and reliability. The existence of a crack at the interface of bi-materials has a substantial impact on mechanical strength and can ultimately lead to fracture. The primary objective of this article is to introduce a comprehensive analytical model and establish stress relationships for investigating interfacial crack between two non-identical orthotropic materials with desired crack-fiber angles. In this paper, we present the application of the Interfacial Maximum Tangential Stress (IMTS) criterion, in combination with the Reinforcement Isotropic Solid (RIS) model, to investigate the behavior of interfacial cracks in orthotropic bi-materials under mixed-mode I/II loading conditions. We analytically characterize the stress state at the interfacial crack tip using both Stress Intensity Factors (SIFs) and the T-stress term. Orthotropic materials, due to their anisotropic nature, can exhibit complex crack tip stress fields, making it challenging to predict crack initiation behavior. The secondary objective of this study is to employ the IMTS criterion to predict the crack initiation angle and explore the notable impact of the T-stress term on fracture behavior. Furthermore, we validate the effectiveness of our approach in evaluating Fracture Limit Curves (FLCs) for interfacial cracks in orthotropic bi-materials by comparing our FLCs with relevant experimental data from existing literature.

Mechanical properties, including Young's modulus, residual stress and rupture strength, of a thermally evaporated gold film have been measured form a blister test. In a theoretical study, the priniple of minimum potential energy and that of virtual work have been applied to the pressurized circular membrane problem, and load-deflection relations have been derived for typical membrane deflection mode of spheroidal shape. In an experimental study, circular gold membranes of 4800 A-thickness and 3.5mm diameter were fabricated by the silicon electropolishing technique. Mecahnical properties of the thin gold films were deduced from the load-deflection curves obtained by the blister test, Young's moduli, obtianed from blister test, have been in the range of 45-70 GPa, while those of bulk gold have been in the range of 78-80 GPa. Residual stresses in the evaporated gold films have been measured as 28-110MPa in tension, The rupture strength of the gold film has turned out to be almost equal to that of dental gold alloy (310-380MPa). It has been demonstrated that the present specimen fabrication method and blister test apparatus have been effective for simultaneous measurement of Young's modulus, residual stress and repture strength of thin solid films. Especially, the electropolishing technique employed here has provided a simple and practical way to fabricate thin membranes in a circular or an arbitrary shape, which could not be obtained by the conventional anisotropic silicon mecromachining technique.
The behavior of porous medium is modeled by linear thermoporoelastic behavior, linear poroviscoelastic behavior, poroplastic behavior, and poroviscoplastic behavior, etc. The behavior has, in general, a complicated aspect which makes a mechanical description of the problem with time. Constitutive modeling for deformation behavior of porous medium with coupling effects is needed since there is interaction between the constituents in pores with a relative velocity to each other. In this work, it is explained 3-dimensional behavior depending on degree of saturation for porous medium composed of homogeneous, isotropic materials. It is obtained the governing equations based on continuum porous mechanics. In addition, it is developed constitutive model which can be understood of behavior for porous medium which can be understood, analysed behavior of porous medium. It can be accomplished exact analysis and prediction of behavior in porous medium. The behavior for porous medium is analysed exactly, and the prediction of deformation behavior is accomplished. Consequently, it will be basis to analyze 3-dimensional behavior in municipal solid waste landfill, and the practical using of porous medium ground which are composed of nonhomogeneous, anisotropic materials can be done widely.

The aim of this research is to construct eigenfrequency optimization codes for plates with Arbitrary Rank Microstructures. From among noise factors, resonance sound is main reason for floor's solid noise. But, Resonance-elusion design codes are not fixed so far. Besides, The prediction of composite material's capability and an resonance elusion by controlling natural frequency of plate depend on designer's experiences. In this paper, First, using computer program with arbitrary rank microstructure, variation on composite material properties is studied, and then natural frequency control is performed by plate topology optimization method. The results of this study are as followed. 1) Programs that calculate material properties along it's microstructure composition and control natural frequency on composite material plate are coded by Homogenization and Topology Optimization method. and it is examined by example problem. 2) Equivalent material properties, calculated by program, are examined for natural frequency. In this paper, Suggested programs are coded using $Matlab^{TM}$, Feapmax and Feap Library with Homogenization and Topology Optimization method. and Adequacy of them is reviewed by performing the maximization or minimization of natural frequency for plates with isotropic or anisotropic materials. Since the programs has been designed for widely use. If the mechanism between composite material and other structural member is identified, extension application may be possible in field of structure maintenance, reinforcement etc. through application of composite material.

Mechanical properties of cancellous bone with a high porosity and cortical bone with a high fraction of solid are estimated by the measurement of ultrasonic wave propagation. The speed of sound (SOS) in ultrasonic waves is usually measured by two equations, bulk wave equation and bar wave equation. Bulk wave speed has almost same as the fast wave of Biot's theory. In this study, we examine whether the bulk wave speed is influenced by the anisotropy of bone matrix. The SOS when the bone matrix is isotropy is 0.69% faster than that when the bone matrix is transversely isotropy. We also examine if the use of bar equation is adequate for a cortical bone. In the previous paper, the bar wave speed is a function of Young's modulus or elastic coefficient tensor. In the same manner, the effect of bar wave speed to isotropic and anisotropic bone is estimated.

Cerium oxide ($CeO_2$, often called as Ceria) is one of the valuable rare earth oxide materials, which has been widely used for high temperature applications such as solid oxide fuel cells, automotive three-way catalysts and oxygen storage capacity. Considering those application, it is important to improve high redox and thermal stability with high surface morphology because the high surface area of $CeO_2$ could improve the catalytic reactivity at high temperature conditions. Herein we successfully fabricated hierarchical flower-like $CeO_2$ deposited via controlling pathway of precipitation reaction to supply carbonate ion lead to the flower-like morphology. The hexagonal lattice system of precipitated precursor shows better thermal stability then orthorhombic one during thermal cycling condition.
