Quasi-classical trajectory (QCT) calculations of H+HLi reaction have been carried out on a new potential energy surface of the ground state reported by Prudente et al. [Chem. Phys. Lett. 2009, 474, 18]. The four polarization-dependent differential cross sections have been carried out in the center of mass (CM) frame at various collision energies. The reaction probability for the depletion channel has been studied over a wide collision energy range. It has been found that the collision energy decreases remarkably reaction probability, which shows the expected behavior of the title reaction belonging to an exothermic barrierless reaction. The results are in good agreement with previous RMP results. The P(${\theta}_r$), P(${\phi}_r$) and P(${\theta}_r,\;{\phi}_r$) distributions, the k-k'-j' correlation and the angular distribution of product rotational vectors are presented in the form of polar plots. The average rotational alignment factor <$P_2(j{\prime}{\cdot}k)$> as a function of collision energy is also calculated. The results indicate that the collision energy has a great influence on the polarization of the product rotational angular momentum vector j'.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the kinematic effect of upper extremity usage for the scoccer instep kick motion. Ten male university students were recruited as the subjects. Temporal parameters, ball velocity, velocity of CG, angle of segment, angular velocity, and trunk orientation angle were determined for each trial. The results showed that temporal parameters in WU and WORU were significantly less than those found in WOU during pre impact phase. These indicated that no usage of upper extremity may increase excessive setup time in order to improve the accuracy of instep kick. Angle of right knee in WOU at LC was significantly greater than corresponding value for WU since angular momentum contributions of the lower limb were not effectively balanced by contributions of the upper limb. We found that the lower extremity movement was controlled by lateral movement in the trunk as a result of no usage of the upper extremity, resulting in the relatively greater trunk rotation in WOU.

In this paper, the operational concept and the navigation algorithms for the gliding guided artillery munition are studied. The gliding guided artillery munition has wings for gliding; therefore spin of the munition should be eliminated. The previous navigation algorithms assumed a spinning munition with constant angular velocity; hence, they cannot be applied for the gliding munition. Moreover, lateral stability becomes worse due to decrease of angular momentum. Therefore, side force should be controlled to improve the stability, and the munition should maneuver, then the previous navigation algorithms for typical fixed-wing aircraft cannot be applied. In this paper, we apply the previous navigation algorithms for the spinning munition. Spin is eliminated and wings are deployed based on the estimation results, and the advanced navigation algorithm for the non-spinning munition is introduced.
This paper represents the numerical analysis on effects of radius ratio in a concentric annulus with a rotating inner cylinder. The numerical model consisted of two cylinder which inner cylinder is rotating and outer cylinder is fix, and the axial direction is used the cyclic condition because of the length for axial direction is assumed infinite. The diameter of inner cylinder is assumed 86.8mm, the numerical parameters are angular velocity and radius ratio. Also, the whole walls of numerical model have no-slip and the working fluid is used water at $20^{\circ}C$. The numerical analysis is assumed the transient state to observe the flow variations by time and the 3-D cylindrical coordinate system. The calculation grid adopted a non-constant grid for dense arrangement near the wall side of cylinder, the standard $k-{\omega}$ high Reynolds number model to consider the effect of turbulence flow and wall, the fully implicit method for time term and the quick scheme for momentum equation. The numerical method is compared with the experimental results by Wereley and Lueptow, and the results are very good agreement. As the results, TVF isn't appeared when Re is small because of the initial flow instability is disappear by effect of the centrifugal force and viscosity. The vortex size is from 0.8 to 1.1 for TVF at various $\eta$, and the traveling distance for wavy vortex have the critical traveling distance for each case.
Appropriate modeling of a tornado-like vortex is a prerequisite when studying the near-ground wind characteristics of a tornado and tornado-induced wind loads on structures. Both Ward- and ISU-type tornado simulators employ guide vanes to induce angular momentum to converge flow in order to generate tornado-like vortices. But in the Ward-type simulator, the guide vanes are mounted near the ground while in the ISU-type they are located at a high position to allow vertical circulation of flow that creates a rotating downdraft to generate a tornado-like vortex. In this study, numerical simulations were performed to reproduce tornado-like vortices using both Ward-type and ISU-type tornado simulators, from which the effects of rotating downdraft on the vortex characteristics were clarified. Particular attention was devoted to the wander of tornado-like vortices, and their dependences on swirl ratio and fetch length were investigated. The present study showed that the dynamic vortex structure depends significantly on the vortex-generating mechanism, although the time-averaged structure remains similar. This feature should be taken into consideration when tornado-like-vortex simulators are utilized to investigate tornado-induced wind forces on structures.
We investigate the velocity distribution of dark matter in the disk of a galaxy like the Milky Way at the solar radius. Using N-body simulations with the total mass and z-component of angular momentum conserved, we calculate the response of a dissipationless dark matter galactic halo during the dissipational collapse of the baryonic matter in spiral galaxy formation. The initial distribution of dark matter and baryonic particles is assumed to be a homogeneous mixture based on a King model. The baryonic matter is assumed to contract, forming the final luminous components of the galaxy, namely the disk and, in some cases, a bulge and central point. Both slow and fast growth of the luminous components are considered. We find that the velocity distribution of dark matter particles in a reference frame rotating slowly about the galaxy center in the plane of the disk is similar to a Maxwellian, but it is somewhat boxier, being flatter at the peak and truncated in the tails of the distribution. We tabulate parameters for the best-fitting Maxwellian and modified-Maxwellian distributions. There is no significant difference between slow collapse and fast collapse for all these results. We were unable to detect any effect of disk formation on the z-dependence of the dark matter density distribution.

Tumble flow test rig has been used as the useful tool in the developing intake system because major flow pattern induced by intake port of DOHC engine is tumble. Angular momentum of in-cylinder tumble flow can not be directly measured by impulse torque meter in the test rig like that of in-cylinder swirl flow due to rotational axis of the flow. Therefore the adaptor to transform tumble to swirl flow must be adapted in the test rig. In this study, using the commercial CFD code STAR-CD, we studied the effects on measured results due to the variation of the major design variables in the adaptor, tube length(L), tube diameter(D) and cylinder height(H). The effect of the attached angle($\theta$) of the test head to the adaptor also was simulated.
The atomization characteristics of the dual air supplying two-fluid nozzle were investigated experimentally using PIV and PDA systems. The twin-fluid nozzle is composed of three main parts: the feeding injector to supply fluid that is controlled by a PWM (pulse-width modulation) mode, the adaptor as a device with the ports for supplying the carrier and assist air, and the main nozzle to produce sprays. The main nozzle has the swirler with four equally spaced tangential slots, which gives the injecting fluid an angular momentum. The swirl angle in the swirler varied with $0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$. The ratios of carrier air to assist air and ALR (total air to liquid) were 0.55 and 1.23, respectively. The macroscopic behavior of the spray was investigated using PIV system, and the AMD and SMD distributions of the sprays were measured using PDA system. As a result, the SMD distribution increases along the radial distance, and it decreases with the increase of swirl angle in swirler.
We present a kinematic analysis of 172 likely member galaxies of the Ursa Major Cluster. In order to understand the dynamical state of the cluster, we investigate the correlation of the cluster morphology with rotation, the velocity dispersion profile, and the rotation amplitude parallel to the global rotation direction. Both the minor axis and the rotation are very well-aligned with the global rotation axis in the outer region at half radius (> 0.5 $R_{max}$), but not in the inner region. The cluster exhibits low velocity dispersion and rotation amplitude profiles in the inner region, but higher in the outer. Both profiles exhibit outwardly increasing trends, suggesting an inside-out transfer of angular momentum of dark matter via violent relaxation, as revealed by a recent off-axis major-merging simulation. From Dressler-Schectman plots in the plane of galactic positions, and velocity versus position angle of galaxy, we are able to divide the Ursa Major Cluster into two substructures: Ursa Major South (UMS) and Ursa Major North (UMN). We derive a mass of $3.2{\times}10^{14}M_{\odot}$ for the cluster through the two-body analysis by the timing argument with the distance information (37 for UMN and 36 for UMS) and the spin parameter of ${\lambda}=0.049$. The two substructures appear to have passed each other 4.4 Gyr ago and are moving away to the maximum separation.
We use grid-based hydrodynamic simulations to study star formation history in nuclear rings of barred-spiral galaxies. In our previous study, we concentrated on bar-only galaxies without spirals, finding that the star formation rate (SFR) in a nuclear ring exhibits a strong primary burst at early time before decreasing to below 1 $M_{\odot}/yr$ at late time. The rapid decline is caused by the paucity of the gas in the bar region, due to early massive gas inflows to the nuclear ring. Since star formation in nuclear rings is observed to be sustained for about 1-2 Gyr, this requires mechanisms to supply the gas to the bar regions. In this work, we study the effect of spiral arms on the radial gas inflows and related star formation in the nuclear rings. We show that spiral arms are efficient to remove angular momentum of the gas to cause significant gas inflows to the bar region, provided the patten speed of the arms is much smaller than that of the bar. The inflowing gas is added to a nuclear ring, making the ring SFR episodic over a long period of time. The time interval of multiple bursts of star formation is a few tens to hundred million years, with the mean peak SFR of ${\sim}5M_{\odot}/yr$, consistent with observations of M100.
