스트레인 게이지를 이용한 선박용 추진 축계의 베어링 반력 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement and Analysis of Bearing Reaction Forces of Marine Propulsion Shafting System using Strain-Gauge)

  • Bearing damages by shaft misalignment have frequently been happened in marine ships. Specially. after stern tube bearing damage and failure for large crude oil carriers have been reported several times. However. the bearing reaction of the after stern tube bearing cannot be measured by jack-up test due to the hull structure condition. Therefore, when the jack-up test is used for the bearing reaction measurements, the bearing reaction for the after stern tube bearing obtained from the theoretical calculation method have to be used. In this paper, the shaft alignment on the large oil crude carrier is theoretically calculated and the differences between the calculated and actual installed bearing reaction values are compared. The bearing reactions for forward stern tube bearing and intermediate bearing are calculated by the simple formula using the strain gauge bending moments obtained from the measurements. Their reliability is confirmed by comparing the bearing reactions from jack-up test and the bearing reaction for after stern tube bearing is calculated by the same test. Also, the bearing reactions on the after stern tube bearing, forward stern tube bearing and intermediate shaft bearing under all operating conditions are calculated by using the bending moments obtained from the measurements and it is confirmed that the differences of the bearing reaction for all operating conditions are caused from hull deflection. The results of this study should prove useful for the future projects of the alignment calculation including the hull deflection effectiveness.

토목섬유 보강재에 적용한 스트레인게이지 실측값의 신뢰성 평가 (Evaluation of Reliability of Strain Gauge Measurements for Geosynthetics)

  • 토목섬유(Geosynthetics)는 도로, 철도, 항만, 댐, 제방 등의 각종 토목구조물에 보강, 배수, 필터, 분리, 침식방지 등의 용도로 폭넓게 적용되고 있다. 특히 토목섬유는 보강토옹벽이나 사면/지반 보강 등을 위한 보강용도로서의 적용이 활발하며, 최근에는 성토체의 안정성과 시공성 및 경제성 향상을 도모하기 위해 성토지지말뚝 상부를 토목섬유로 보강하는 기법에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 일반적으로 토목섬유 보강재를 사용한 토목구조물의 안정성 해석을 위하여 실내 모형실험이나 현장에 적용된 토목섬유에 스트레인게이지를 부착하여 토목섬유의 인장변형을 측정하는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 그러나, 토목섬유의 제조방법과 강성도 및 스트레인게이지 부착방법 등에 따라 측정된 인장변형률 값의 편차가 나타난다. 본 연구에서는 지오그리드와 직포, 부직포 등 3가지 형태의 토목섬유를 대상으로 스트레인게이지가 부착된 토목섬유에 대한 광폭인장강도시험을 수행하여 video extensometer를 이용하여 측정된 인장변위로부터 산정한 인장변형률과 스트레인게이지에 의해 측정된 인장변형률을 비교, 분석함으로써 스트레인게이지 실측값의 신뢰성을 평가하였다. 분석 결과, 스트레인게이지 실측값은 비교적 강성이 높은 지오그리드와 직포의 경우에는 신뢰도가 높으나, 강성이 작은 부직포의 경우에는 신뢰도가 매우 낮음을 알 수 있었다.

  • On a refrigeration compressor, damage of a discharge valve is one of the annoying troubles for an engineer. Small size compressors, having ring plate type discharge valve are recently used. Therefore, it is very important for engineers to measure and analyze strains of discharge valve. The purpose of this study is to obtain the basic data of the strain of the flexible ring valve. Measurements were performed by the strain gauge bonded on the surface of the flexible ring valve. Stress and strain of the valve were calculated by the method of uniformly loaded circular plates with a central hole. The results obtained are as follows; (1) the strain of flexible ring discharge valve in refrigeration compressor was influenced by tension and compression strain simultaneously. (2) for a given discharge pressure, the tangential and radial strains was increased with increasing discharge pressure. (3) the valve of radial strain was larger than that of tangential strain.

Establishment of strain measurement system for evaluation of strain effect in HTS tapes under magnetic field

  • The evaluation of the electromechanical properties of HTS CC tapes is one of the foremost procedures to be done to ensure the applicability of superconducting wires to electric devices. A precise measurement of the stress and strain is important in deriving the mechanical properties under operating environment. Up to now, there is no standard test method yet for the electromechanical property evaluation of HTS tapes under self field and external magnetic field although there are already reports on the different devices used to evaluate these properties. Strain can be measured by adopting a strain gauge or a high resolution double extensometer. In this study, strain effect on $I_c$ in HTS CC tapes under magnetic fields was evaluated. Comparison of advantages and setback of strain measuring devices were discussed. In addition, a dual strain measurement system using both the SG and extensometer may be practical to lessen the burden in case one of the measuring devices does not work well.

매스콘크리트 구조물에서의 시멘트 종류별 수화발열 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Thermal Characteristics in Association with Cement Types in Massive Concrete Structure)

  • The larger, loftier and more highly strengthened the recent structures become, the greater attention is paid to the problem of thermal crack occurrence associate with hydration heat. As one of methods to solve the problem, a care has been taken to the improvement of construction such as the application of pre-cooling or pipe-cooling, adjustment of concrete block size, concrete placement timing, joint arrangement and so on. But it is expected that a proper selection of cement shall additionally contribute to the control of thermal cracks. In this study, thus, we selected 4 types of cements such as Type V for anti-sulphate, blast furnace cements (slag content of 45% and 65% respectively)and ternary blended low heat cement, and carried out mock-up tests. In every assigned time, temperatures and thermal stresses were measured and calculated from raw data. As a result of measurement, it was found that the magnitude of hydration heat is in order of blast furnace slag cement. Type V and ternary blended low heat cement. Results of thermal stresses were same as the order of temperature. In addition, thermal stresses calculated from the data of strain gauges showed almost similar to those measured from effective stress gauges only when strain values were adjusted properly in accordance with initial time of stress appearance. Theoretical results agreed well with the measured values comparatively, but showed slight differences. It is inferred that these differences shall be reduced if more tests capable of evaluating thermal characteristics of concrete are carried out.

  • 에너지원으로서 LNG 수요뿐 아니라 온실가스인 이산화탄소의 처분에 대한 필요성이 점차 증가되고 있어, 이를 위한 많은 저장시설이 요구된다. 이러한 저장시설은 안전성과 국토의 효율적 이용 등으로 인하여 지하화하는 경향이 있다. 이와 같은 온도특성을 고려해야하는 물질에 대한 지하저장시설의 건설에 있어서, 암석의 열물성은 열역학적 특성과 함께 저장시설의 설계 및 유지관리를 위한 중요한 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 암석입자의 크기와 실험온도범위를 고려하여 스트레인 게이지를 이용하여 암석의 열팽창계수를 실험적으로 측정하였다. 실험결과 열팽창계수는 온도가 내려감에 따라 감소하였으며, 국내 대표암석인 화강암에 대한 선열팽창계수의 온도관계식을 제안할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 수행된 온도변화에 따른 시험결과는 지하저장소의 열역학적 안정성 해석과 열전파 특성을 규명하기 위한 해석에 주요 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

과부하 방지용 마이크로머시닝 세라믹 박막형 압력센서의 제작 (The Fabrication of a Micromachined Ceramic Thin-Film Pressure Sensor with High Overpressure Tolerance)

  • This paper describes on the fabrication and characteristics of a ceramic thin-film pressure sensor based on Ta-N strain gauges for harsh environment applications. The Ta-N thin-film strain gauges are sputter deposited onto a micromachined Si diaphragms with buried cavity for overpressure protectors. The proposed device takes advantages of the good mechanical properties of single crystalline Si as diaphragms fabricated by SDB and electrochemical etch-stop technology, and in order to extend the operating temperature range, it incorporates relatively the high resistance, stability and gauge factor of Ta-N thin-films. The fabricated pressure sensor presents a low temperature coefficient of resistance, high sensitivity, low non-linearity and excellent temperature stability. The sensitivity is $1.097{\sim}1.21mV/V{\cdot}kgf/cm^2$ in the temperature range of $25{\sim}200^{\circ}C$ and the maximum non-linearity is 0.43 %FS.

  • This paper describes on the fabrication and characteristics of micro ceramic thin-film type pressure sensors based on Ta-N strain-gauges for high-temperature applications. The Ta-N thin-film strain-gauges are deposited onto thermally oxidized Si diaphragms by RF sputtering in an argon-nitrogen atmosphere($N_2$ gas ratio: 8 %, annealing condition: $900^{\circ}C$, 1 hr.), Patterned on a wheatstone bridge configuration, and use as pressure sensing elements with a high stability and a high gauge factor. The sensitivity is $1.097{\sim}1.21mV/V.kgf/cm^2$ in the temperature range of $25{\sim}200^{\circ}C$ and the maximum non-linearity is 0.43 %FS. The fabricated pressure sensor presents a lower TCR, non-linearity than existing Si piezoresistive pressure sensors. The fabricated micro ceramic thin-film type pressure sensor is expected to be usefully applied as pressure and load sensors that is operable under high-temperature environments.

  • 광섬유 브래그 격자 센서는 광섬유의 코어의 굴절률 변조에 의해서 제작되며, 이 센서는 외부의 스트레인에 따라 브래그 파장이 변화하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 광섬유 브래그 격자 센서를 파장 영역에서 신호처리 할 수 있는 방법에 대하여 연구하였다. SLD와 F-P 필터로 구성된 sweep 반도체 광원과 F P 필터내의 PZT의 히스테리시스 특성을 보상하기 위한 에탈론 필터와 장기 계측을 위해 절대 파장 기준으로 온도 안정된 광섬유 브래그 격자를 사용하였다. 콘크리트 흄관에서 FBG 센서의 스트레인 응답 특성을 전기저항 센서와 비교하였다. 그리고 광섬유 격자 센서를 이용하여 장거리 변위의 측정 가능성을 확인하였다.
