  • A standard of estimation is used as a basis for estimating the predetermined amount of public construction. However, they raise several points of reasonable labor to be presented to a standard of estimation. For this reason, it is difficult to make a reasonable and efficient estimation of the costs, and this situation presents an urgent need for an accurate way of making such a calculation.This study analyzed the productivity of reinforced concrete work by the CYCLONE model, and the estimated optimal labor through sensitivity analysis, and presented the model on the number of optimal labor through sensitivity analysis.

알루미늄 주조과정에서 배출되는 입자상물질의 물리·화학적 특성 (Physicochemical Characteristics of Particulate Matter Emitted from Aluminum Casting Process)

  • PM (Particulate Matters) was collected from a bag filter dust collector at an aluminum foundries, and its physicochemical properties were investigated using particle size analyzer and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (SEM/EDS). The median volume diameter of the particles passing through the pretreatment dust collector of the cyclone was approximately 10 ㎛. The cyclone pretreatment dust collector was shown to significantly reduce the throughput of large particles with a particle size of 100 ㎛ or more. The chemical composition of the particles showed a high Al content, and trace amounts of Mg, Si, and Zn were detected.

  • 본 논문에서는 신호측정 장치를 FPGA를 기반으로 설계한 후 이를 시스템으로 구현하였다. 설계에 사용한 FPGA는 Altera사의 Cyclone II이고, 총 1,700개(40%)의 LE(logic element)를 사용하였다. 설계한 회로는 6-bit 입력에서 24,576-bit의 메모리를 사용하며, 최대 140MHz의 동작주파수에서 안정적으로 구동하였다.

Numerical Simulation of the Effects of Moisture on the Reinforcement of a Tropopause Fold

  • The tropopause fold event that took place on January 1, 1997 over mid-region on the Korean Peninsula is examined by means of a numerical simulation based on a Mesoscale Model (MM5). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of moisture in reinforcing a tropopause fold linked to an explosive cyclone. Two types of simulations were carried out; 1) simulations for moist conditions in which full physical and dynamic processes are considered and 2) simulations for dry conditions in which cumulus parameterization and cloud microphysics process are excluded. The results of the moist condition simulations demonstrate that the intensity of the central pressure of the cyclone was overestimated compared with the observed values and that the location of the center and the pressure deepening rates (-17 hPa/12 hr) complied with the observed values. The potential vorticity (PV) anomaly on the isentropic surface at 305 K continued to move in a southeast direction on January 1, 1997 and thus created a single tube of tropopause fold covering the northern and the middle area of the Korean Peninsula and reaching the ground surface at 0300 UTC and 0600 UTC. The results of the dry condition simulations show that the tropopause descended to 500 and 670 hPa in 0300 and 0600 UTC, respectively at the same location for the moist condition simulation; however, there was no deep tropopause fold observed. A comparison of the simulated data between the moist and the dry conditions suggests that a deep tropopause fold should happen when there is sufficient moist in the atmosphere and significantly large PV in the lower atmosphere pulls down the upper atmosphere rather than when the tropopause descends itself due to dynamic causes. Thus, it is estimated that moisture in the atmosphere should have played a crucial role in a deep tropopause fold process.

축류형 사이클론을 이용한 공기역학경과 광학직경 상관관계 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Correlation Analysis between Aerodynamic Diameter and Optical Diameter Using Axial Flow Cyclone)

  • APS (Aerodynamic Particle Sizer) and OPC (Optical Particle Counter) have been widely used to real-time measurement of indoor and outdoor aerosols. The APS measures the size distribution based on an aerodynamic diameter, while the OPC uses optical diameter to measure the size distribution of aerosols. Since obtaining a size distribution based on aerodynamic diameter is important to understand aerosol characteristics, lots of researcher had been developed experimental equations which can convert optical diameter into aerodynamic diameter. However, previous studies have conducted repeated experiments on particles having a single diameter. In this study, an experimental method of converting optical diameter into aerodynamic diameter through a single experiment was presented. The collection efficiencies of an axial cyclone were measured using APS and OPC at the same time, and the correlation equation between aerodynamic diameter and optical diameter was driven through a theoretical model. Using the proposed method, the size distribution of NaCl particles measured by OPC showed a high correlation with the size distribution obtained by APS (0.93 of R-squared value). In the tests conducted on ISO A1, A2, and A4 test particles, the converted OPC size distribution tended to be similar to the APS size distribution, and for each of test particles (ISO A1, A2, and A4), the R-squared values for the APS particle size distribution were 0.75, 0.86, and 0.89, respectively.

Observational analysis of wind characteristics in the near-surface layer during the landfall of Typhoon Mujigae (2015)

  • We investigated the wind characteristics in the near-surface layer during the landfall of Typhoon Mujigae (2015) based on observations from wind towers in the coastal areas of Guandong province. Typhoon Mujigae made landfall in this region from 01:00 UTC to 10:00 UTC on October 4, 2015. In the region influenced by the eyewall of the tropical cyclone, the horizontal wind speed was characterized by a double peak, the wind direction changed by >180°, the vertical wind speed increased by three to four times, and the angle of attack increased significantly to a maximum of 7°, exceeding the recommended values in current design criteria. The vertical wind profile may not conform to a power law distribution in the near-surface layer in the region impacted by the eyewall and spiral rainband. The gust factors were relatively dispersed when the horizontal wind speed was small and tended to a smaller value and became more stable with an increase in the horizontal wind speed. The variation in the gust factors was the combined result of the height, wind direction, and circulation systems of the tropical cyclone. The turbulence intensity and the downwind turbulence energy spectrum both increased notably in the eyewall and spiral rainband and no longer satisfied the assumption of isotropy in the inertial subrange and the -5/3 law. This result was more significant in the eyewall area than in the spiral rainband. These results provide a reference for forecasting tropical cyclones, wind-resistant design, and hazard prevention in coastal areas of China to reduce the damage caused by high winds induced by tropical cyclones.

CMIP5 기후모델에서 나타나는 열대저기압 생성빈도의 연진동과 경년변동성: 잠재생성지수의 이용 (Annual Cycle and Interannual Variability of Tropical Cyclone Genesis Frequency in the CMIP5 Climate Models: Use of Genesis Potential Index)

  • 대기 및 해양의 대규모 환경에서 열대저기압 발생의 잠재적 빈도는 잠재생성지수(GPI; Genesis Potential Index)를 이용하여 예측할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 18개의 CMIP5 기후모델을 이용하여 GPI의 연진동 및 경년변동성이 분석되었다. 비교를 위하여 재분석자료로부터 계산된 GPI의 연진동이 재조명되었다. 특히 CMIP5 기후모델과 재분석자료에 의한 GPI가 비교되었고, 그 차이에 대한 가능한 해석이 논의되었다. ENSO (El Nino and Southern Oscillation)는 열대 저기압 발생 및 경로에 영향을 주는 열대 기후현상이다. 잠재생성지수가 네 개의 대규모 매개변수의 함수임을 이용함으로써 열대저기압발생에 대한 역학적 해석이 제시되었다. 본 연구에서는 엘니뇨 혹은 라니냐 해에 GPI 편차를 논의하였고, 그 편차에 가장 영향을 많이 주는 인자를 찾았다. 또한 여러 대규모 인자를 활용하여 북태평양지역 열대저기압 발생에 대하여 가능한 기작을 논의하였다.

HDPE 싸이클론 하전장치(荷電裝置)를 이용한 종말품(終末品) 폐(廢)플라스틱으로부터 PET의 회수(回收) (Recovery of PET from Final Plastic Wastes using HDPE Cyclone Charger)

  • 플라스틱은 아주 유용한 물질로서 우리 일상생활에 폭넓게 이용되고 있다. 국내에서는 약 400 만톤의 폐플라스틱이 발생되고 있지만 재활용율은 30% 이하로 대부분 소각이나 매립에 의해 처리되고 있다. 따라서 폐플라스틱을 재활용할 수 있는 재질분리 기술개발 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 폐플라스틱 종말품으로부터 PET 회수를 위한 마찰하전 정전선별이 수행되었다. 하전특성 연구결과에 의하면, PET와 PVC의 하전극성과 하전량은 HDPE와 PP의 하전물질 그리고 상대습도가 낮을수록 효과적이었다. HDPE 싸이클론 하전장치를 이용한 재질분리 실험결과, PET의 품위와 회수율은 전극전압 30 kV 이상, 분리대위치 -2cm의 조건에서 각각 96.8%와 85.0%로 얻어졌으며, 분리대의 위치(-6cm)에 따라 PET 회수율이 24% 감소하지만 품위를 98.5%까지 분리할 수 있는 기술을 개발하였다.

A Review on Multidecadal Coastal Changes at Funafuti, Tuvalu from 1897 to 2015

  • Tuvalu is a small reef islands country in the Pacific Ocean. Its coastal regions are very much dynamic due to the profound effects of tropical cyclones and sea level rise (SLR). However, research works on coastline dynamics of Tuvalu mainly cover its capital, Funafuti. Therefore, this review summarizes the extent of long-term coastal changes in different islets of Funafuti and on overall Tuvalu. In Funafuti, highly accreting areas are Te Afualiku, Fuafatu, Motugie, and Amatuku, and highly eroding areas are Fuagea and Tefala with the fully disappeared islet of Vasafua after 2005. However, in spite of different causes and supposition of scientists on disappearing these lands the accretion is more dominant than erosion which resulted in 7.3% net increase of land areas of Tuvalu over 117 years till 2015. Severe tropical cyclones mainly caused accretion of land areas by forming coral rubble rampart formation and further reworks and erosion to small sandy islands whereas frequent low-energy cyclones mainly caused erosion. Though, till now severe erosion of coastal areas are not evident by global SLR, islets of Funafuti experienced remarkable shoreline increase as formation of 30-40 m wide rubble rampart formation along 19 km in 1971 by tropical cyclone Bebe and net increase of area of 3.45 ha by tropical cyclone Pam in 2015. In spite of such overall accretion of coastal areas several scientists suspect drowning of its areas in future because of high SLR (~5.1±0.7 mm/year) at Funafuti which supposedly will not work as a breakwater anymore. Thus, protection measures should be taken to prevent coastline erosion as well as land reclamation activities should be done following the global examples.

사이클론을 활용한 경량.저소음 진공집진 스탠딩 그라인더의 성능개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Performance Improvement of Light and Low-Noisy Standing Grinder with Vacuum Dust Collection Using a Cyclone Separator)

  • 진공집진 스탠딩 그라인더는 그라인딩을 하면서 동시에 발생하는 분진을 집진하는 것으로서, 산업현장에서 도장하기 전에 도장 표면이나 용접 후 비드 부위를 깨끗하게 하기 위하여 필요하다. 최근에 스탠딩 그라인더는 연마 및 분진집진 용량이 커졌으나 반면에 발생소음이 적고 컴팩트하고 포터블화하는 추세이다. 이러한 연마와 집진 성능이 증가함에 따라서 소음과 중량이 중요한 문제로 야기된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 효율적인 사이클론을 Ansys-CFX에 의하여 해석하여 설계하고 실험을 거쳐서 개발되었으며, 그 결과, 그라인더부의 중량은 5.9kg로서 작업자가 충분히 들고 작업을 할 수 있으며, 개발 제품의 소음은 69.9dB(A)로서 좋은 결과를 얻었다.
