  • In a dual lens stereoscopic camera, a convergence point determines the stereopsis effects of a video. When a user zooms an object, a convergence point is fixed since it is not coupled with a zoom function. Due to the fixed convergence point, it is possible for a zoom to cause the excessive binocular disparity resulting in visual discomfort. In this paper, to solve this problem, we build the relational model including all phenomena possible to arise and propose the adjustment methods of a convergence point by the positions of a focus, an object and a convergence point. We also evaluate the experiments measuring a binocular disparity and the subjective test to investigate the visual comfort. The results show that one of the proposed methods produced more comfortable 3D images to viewers than the others.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of school library reading classes on the convergence literacy of adolescents based on the convergence reading education model. To achieve this, elements of convergence education for future-oriented competence were derived from the level of reading education based on previous studies and literature, and the effectiveness of education was measured by conducting a convergence literacy test targeting 50 general high school students. In this study, reading classes and tests were conducted over 12 sessions from April 2022 to November 2022, and the study participants were divided into two groups, and convergence reading education and self-reading education were applied respectively. The analysis results of this study are as follows. First, It was verified that there was a significant difference in the promotion of convergent literacy of adolescents according to the method of reading education. Second, it was verified that convergence reading education had a significant effect on convergence literacy of adolescents such as convergence, creativity, self-direction and communication ability. Third, as a result of verifying whether learning motivation plays a mediating role in convergence reading education influencing convergent literacy, learning motivation played a partial mediating role and had an indirect effect on creativity, self-direction, and communication ability between convergence reading education and convergence literacy, but showed no significant mediating effect on convergence ability.

  • The $L^1$-convergence of Fourier series problems through additional assumptions for Fourier coefficients were presented by W. H. Young in 1913. We say that they are the classical results. Using modified trigonometric series is the convenience method to study the $L^1$-convergence of Fourier series problems. they are called the neoclassical results. This study concerns with the $L^1$-convergence of Fourier series. We introduce the classical and neoclassical results of $L^1$-convergence sequentially. In particular, we investigate $L^1$-convergence results focused on the results of Bhatia's studies. In conclusion, we present the research minor lineage of Bhatia's studies and compare the classes of $L^1$-convergence mutually.

  • In this paper, we present the fabrication of 40 Gb/s traveling-wave electroabsorption modulator-integrated laser (TW-EML) modules. A selective area growth method is first employed in 40 Gb/s EML fabrication to simultaneously provide active layers for lasers and modulators. The 3 dB bandwidth of a TW-EML module is measured to be 34 GHz, which is wider than that of a lumped EML module. The 40 Gb/s non-return-to-zero eye diagram shows clear openings with an average output power of +0.5 dBm.

  • Life competencies most required for university students, who receive a higher education and prepare to go into society, are job competencies. People with a variety of competencies are needed in the job market in a globally-oriented 21st-Century knowledge-based society. Now that raising competent people who have a high level of job competency is regarded as one of university functions, a way to improve job competencies through university education needs to be investigated. This study proposes a convergence education system to improve job competencies. The convergence education system includes five type of convergence: convergence in major fields of study, convergence in education courses, convergence in education space, convergence in education methods, and convergence in education period. This education system is expected to improve a variety of job competencies including cognitive competencies, non-cognitive competencies, and global competencies.

  • A new algorithm is presented for adaptive notch filtering of narrow band or sine signals for embedded among broad band noise. The notch filter is implemented as a constrained infinite impulse response filter with a minimal number of parameters, Based on the recursive prediction error (RPE) method, the algorithm has the advantages of the fast convergence, accurate results and initial estimate of filter coefficient and its covariance is revealed. A convergence criterion is also developed. By using the information of the noise-to-signal power, the algorithm can self-adjust its initial filter coefficient estimate and its covariance to ensure convergence.

  • In the era of the 4th industrial revolution and convergence, various discussions and studies have been conducted to develop future social talents, and through this, the need for creative convergence talents is increasing. In line with the change to a software-oriented society, countries around the world are trying to strengthen SW education, but high school students' awareness of the necessity of information subject and SW education that is the center of convergence is insufficient. Therefore, opportunities for convergence of the information subject and various fields should be provided. In this study, information education was converged to the science exploration experiment subject to construct an educational program that can develop creative convergence, and a convergence class using physical computing were applied to high school students for 9 hours. As a result of the experiment, the recognition of SW education of the experimental group was improved, and it was confirmed that the learner's convergence literacy of the experimental group was statistically different from that of the control group that conducted the general science experiment class.

  • Industrial convergence is manifested in various forms by various drivers, and understanding and categorizing the direction of convergence according to the factors in which the convergence occurs is an essential requirement for the establishment of a company's customized convergence strategy and the government's corporate support policy. In this study, the type of convergence is analyzed from the perspective of knowledge flow between heterogeneous technologies, and for this purpose, the result of topic modeling of the text information of the patent and the citation information of the corresponding patent allocated for each topic are used. The methodology presented through case studies in the medical device field is verified. Through the proposed methodology, companies can predict the flow of convergence and use it as decision-making data to create new business opportunities. It is expected that the government and research institutions will be usefully used as basic data for policy preparation.
