This research uses Smith and Chaffey's (2005) 5Ss e-marketing model for analysis, which include Sell, Serve, Speak, Save, and Sizzle. Both quantitative and qualitative methods will be used to conduct the study. The researchers collected information from customers, managers, and directors in 25 retailers in Vietnam. A survey questionnaire was delivered to 15 people in each of the retailers who are customers, managers and directors. The researcher used the SPSS 16.0 software to analyze the data collected and in-depth interviews were carried out with the purpose of testing the hypothesis as well as the overall framework of the research. Out of the 375 questionnaires delivered, 360 were returned. The means of 23 items in the survey questionnaire ranged from 3.3733 to 4.3533 representing the outcome of the descriptive analysis. Research results showed that Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of five factors affecting the market share of the retailers is sizzle, save, sell, serve and speak. This research has proposed some implications for the market share of retailers, including technology enhancement for full message delivery, ways to approach target customers, and improving product diversity.

  • Currently, the Korean construction industry is shifting its interest to the overseas construction market because of a stagnating domestic market. In the meantime, the international housing construction market is expanding with respect to new city development projects that are supported by population growth and urban migration. Despite the Korean construction industry's expertise in new city development, technology, and systems for apartment supply, the share of Korean players in the international housing construction market is continuously decreasing. As a measure to overcome this situation, the authors of this study considered the paper "The Development of a Cost Effective, Long-life Housing Model and Construction of Testbed," which is currently in progress as a part of national project. Through literature review and interviews with experts, the authors determined that there are "column+minimum interior (infill)" apartments that are similar to the long-life housing in some areas of China, Southeast Asia, and Russia. Candidate countries expected to be feasible for the entry of long-life housing were selected by determining the top countries that have already entered the long-life housing market and analyzing those selections through additional specific techniques. The external environments of the selected countries were also analyzed. Please refer to the full paper for details.

  • This study explores on the static and dynamic growth patterns of high-tech ventures in Korea. We developed an integrative framework with target market (local vs. global), product/market maturity (existing vs. emerging), and technological capability (follower vs. pioneer). We also identified seven new ventures strategies as follows: i) reactive imitation, ii) proactive localization, iii) import substitution, iv) creative imitation, v) early market-entry, vi) global niche, and vii) global innovation. With five successful Korean new ventures, we found different competitive behaviors and performance among new venture strategic types. This study also observed two different growth patterns: growth through strategic replication and growth through strategic change. It depends on whether they are pursuing similar strategy over time or different strategy within for growth. In addition, we found that creative imitation plays a stepping-stone role in two-step internationalization processes. Although this study is exploratory and needs more empirical studies, it can provide new ventures with meaningful guidelines for growth and internationalization with a dynamic perspective.
