首都圈地域 小賣業 經營의 空間的 變容 (Spatial Changes in the Business Organization of Retailing in the Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • 대도시권내 소매업의 지역구조 변화를 이해하기 위하여 우리나라에서 소매업의 규모가 가장 큰 수도권지역 소매업 경영의 지역적 변화형태를 고찰한 결과 다음과 같은 점이 밝혀졌다. 1979~1991년 사이에 연간판매액에 의한 소매업의 업종구성 변화는 <종합 소매업>과 <개인 운수장비 소매업 및 주유소 운영업>의 구성비가 매우 높아졌다. 그리고 소매업의 경영상의 변화는 개인 경영조직이 탁월해지고, 종사자의 常傭化가 많이 나타났다. 주성분 분석에 의한 수도권지역 소매업의 주된 경영성분은 1. 소매업의 대규모화와, 2. <섬유, 의복, 신발 및 의복 악세사리 소매업>, <가구, 철물 및 가정용품 소매업(가전제품 포함)>, <장신구 및 시계 소매업>의 법인 조직화와 상용 조사자의 고용화이다. 소매업 경영의 유형변화를 보면, 1979년에는 섬유, 의복, 신박 및 의복 악세사리 소매업, 가구, 철물 및 가정용품 소매업(가전제품 포함), 장신구 및 시계 소매업의 법인 조직화와 상용 종사자의 고용화, 달리 분류되지 않은 일반 소매업의 대규모 소매업의 법인 조직화가 다소 이루어졌으나, 1991년에는 소매업의 대규모화가 이루어진 것이다. 이러한 경영변화를 나타내는 지구는 서울시와 그 위성도시 및 경기도의 남동부지역이다. 또 1979년에 섬유, 의복, 신발 및 의복 악세사리 소매업, 장신구 및 시계 소매업, 달리 분류되지 않은 일반 소매업의 대규모 소매업의 법인 조직화가 다소 이루어진 것에서, 1991년에는 개인 운수장비 소매업 및 주유소 운영업의 상용 종사자의 고용화가 이루어졌다. 이러한 변화를 나타내는 지구는 경기도의 동부와 북부지역이다. 따라서 우리나라 수도권지역 소매업 경영의 변화형태는 1979년에 일부 소매업이 법인 조직화와 상용 종사자의 고용화가, 1991년에는 소매업의 대규모화와 개인 운수장비 소매업과 주유소 운영업의 종사자 고용화가 나타난 점이다.

할인점에서 의류 구매빈도가 높은 집단과 낮은 집단간 차이 -할인점 상점속성에 대한 신념 및 할인점 태도, 정보탐색 및 정보원 사용 상품만족도, 인구통계적 특성- (Differences between the groups of high purchase and low purchase of apparel in low -price retailing)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to test the differences between two groups who have high and low purchase of apparel in low-price retailing concerning consumers' beliefs and attitude toward low-prce retailing 2) to identify differences between these two groups in type of information search and use of information sources and 3) to investigate differences between department store and low-price retailing in consumers' satisfaction toward products and purchase frequencies of apparel items and differences between two groups in demographic variables. The data were collected via a self-administeered questionnaire from 474 femail adults in Seoul Korea and analyzed by factor analysis t-test and paired t-test. The results of this study were as follows : First based on a series of t-test and paired t-test. the results showed that those who had a high purchase of apparel in low-price retailing had significantly higher belief scores on all of the five store attributes and a more favorable attitude toward low-price retailing than did those who had low purchase. Second those who had high purchase of apparel in low-price retailing had significantly higher scores on ongoing and prepurchase information search and on use of mass media information and interpersonal information source than did those who had low purchase. Third in case of high purchase consumers of apparel in low-price retailing there were not found significant differences between department store and low-price retailing there were not found significant differences between department store and low-price retailing in purchase frequency on man's and women's casual wear of department stores than low-price retailing. However low purchase consumers of apparel in low-price retailing revealed significantly higher purchase frequency on all of seven apparel items of department stores than low-price retailing. Finally there were significant differences between two groups in demographic variables. The papers discussed theoretical implications as well as manageral implications.

소매업 경영에서 본 수도권 지역과 대구권 지역의 비교 (Comparative Study of the Business Organization of Retailing in the Seoul and Taegu Metropolitan Areas)

  • 우리나라에서 인구규모 이상으로 소매 구매력이 가장 큰 수도권 지역과 3대 도시권으로 구매력이 인구규모보다 작은 대구권 지역의 소매업 경영을 공간적으로 비교한 결과 다음과 같은 점이 밝혀졌다 첫째, 수도권 지역은 소매업의 경영규모가 크고 쇼핑재화 소매업의 구성비가 높은데 비하여, 대구권 지역은 편의재화 소매업의 구성비가 높은 것이 특징이다. 둘째, 대구권 지역은 수도권 지역보다 소매업 중심지구가 미발달되었고, 법인업체의 비율은 높으나 상용 종사자의 비율과 사업체당 연간 판매액의 비율이 낮아 소매업 경영상의 지역적 차이점을 나타내고 있다. 셋째, 수도권 지역의 중심지구는 대구권 지역의 중심지구에 비하여 편의제화와 일부 쇼핑재화를 취급하는 소매업 법인조직이 발달하였으나, 대구권 지역의 경우는 $\ulcorner$섬유, 의복, 신발 및 의복 악세사리 소매업$\lrcorner$의 법인조직과 $\ulcorner$가정용 연료 소매업$\lrcorner$의 상용 종사자 고용이 발달하였다. 그리고 수도권 지역은 $\ulcorner$가정용 연료 소매업$\lrcorner$의 상용 종사자 고용이, 대구권 지역은 $\ulcorner$개인 운수장비 소매업 및 주유소 운영업$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$약, 화장품 및 화공약품 소매업$\lrcorner$의 상용 종사자 고용과 $\ulcorner$음식료품 및 담배소매업$\lrcorner$의 개인경영의 발달 유무가 소매업 경영의 지역구조를 결정짓는다.

  • This paper is concerned with characteristics of Internet retailing and manufacturer's product development strategy using Internet retailing. First, this paper reviews the current status of Internet retailing companies and explains some barriers to taking advantage of Internet retailing. Second, this paper gives a few suggestions for manufacturer's strategy for product innovation and development which is based on Internet retailing. A Study on Logistical System and Operational Models of Franchise Store Retailing in China

  • Franchise store retailing is taking on ever greater roles in business and commerce in China. The diverse product range, small-batch order, high frequency and time-specific requirements inherent in retail logistics make it the most complicated of all categories of logistics. In franchise store retailing, expanding business scales make trans-regional development a trend. Without a well-functioning logistic system, the standardized delivery of products would be held back, impacting trans-regional development strategy and operational costs. Therefore, the efficiency of franchise store retailing largely depends on logistical efficiency. The integrated and streamlined management of franchise stores depends in large measure on their logistical centers. As such, logistical centers constitute the key link and bears on core competitiveness in franchise store retailing. This thesis begins with an analysis of the current developments and four basic logistical models of franchise store retailing in China, proceeds to summarize developmental trends as well as focal issues and proposes an efficiency enhancing plan.

Lessons from Haitai Distribution Inc's experience in Korea

  • Owing to the rapid growth of hypermarket/discount store formats since 1996, Korean retailing has suddenly attracted the significant attention from researchers. Before the emergence of large scale retailers such as E-Mart, Lotte Mart and Tesco Korea, there were the two retail formats who led the Korean retailing in the modern retailing history: department store and supermarket formats. Nevertheless, there has been little literature concerned about the two retail formats as a case study, while some authors have paid their attention to hypermarket/discount store formats. In addition, when mentioning the development process of retailing history, it is less likely that authors have made an effort to illustrate supermarket retailing history. In order to regard supermarket retailing as part of the Korean retailing, it is interesting to look at a representative supermarket retailer, Haitai, who was one of the subsidiaries of Haitai chaebol. Based on supermarket retailing, the company which was established as a joint venture in 1974 led a supermarket retailing in the Korean modernised retailing history. Before analysing whether Haitai failed or not, the definition of failure should be illustrated. With regard to the term, failure, in the academic world, authors have interchangeably used the following terms: failure, divestment, closure, organisational restructuring, and exit. To collect research data as a case study, the author adopted an in-depth interview method. The research is based on research interviews with 13 ex-staff who left after Haitai went bankruptcy, from store management department to merchandise department. By investigating Haitai's experiences through field interviews, the research found that Haitai restructured organisational decision-making process at the early stage when companies started to modernise organisational charts, benchmarking sophisticated retailing knowledge through the strategic alliance with a Japanese retailer. In respect of buying system, the company established firmly buying functions by adopting central buying system, and further, outstandingly allocated considerable marketing resources to the development of retailer brands with the dedicated team of retailer brand development. In the grocery retailing, abandoning a 'no-frill' packaging concept, the introduction of retailer brand packaging equal to, or better than national brand packaging design, encouraged other retailers to change their retailer brand development strategies. In product sourcing ways, Haitai organised for the first time the overseas sourcing team with the aim of improving the profit margins of foreign products and providing exotic products for customers, followed by other retailers. Regarding distribution system, the company introduced the innovative idea which delivered products ordered by stores directly to each store withboth its own vehicles and its own warehouse in which could deal with dry foods, chilly foods, frozen food, and non-foods, and even, process produce. In addition, Haitai developed many promotional methods to attract more customers like 'the guarantee of the lowest price', and expanded its own business to US in 1996, although withdrew, because of bankruptcy in 1997. Together with POS introduction in 1994, Haitai made a significant contribution to the development of the Korean retailing, influencing other retailers in many aspects. As a case study, the study has provided a number of lessons from Haitai's experiences for academicians and practitioners, suggesting that its history should be involved in the Korean modernised retailing.

They must change their traditional ways of doing business and adopt new information technologies and electronic commerce in order to survive. This paper analyzes the current situation and the problems in Chinese retailing enterprises, including the cultural, the social, the technological and the environmental aspects. It gives strategies, tactics and countermeasures of E-Commerce development for Chinese retailing enterprises.

기업형 슈퍼마켓(SSM)의 시장진입이 소매업태간 시장점유율 변화에 미친 영향 (The Impact of SSM Market Entry on Changes in Market Shares among Retailing Types)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 최근 급격하게 확산되고 있는 기업형 슈퍼마켓(SSM)의 시장 진입이 국내 소매업 경쟁구조에 미친 영향을 실증하는데 있다. 자료의 분석기간은 2000년 1월부터 2010년 12월까지이며, 기업형 슈퍼마켓이 월별로 진입한 점포수, 누적 점포수, 신규 SSM 사업체 중 $165m^2$ 미만 점포비율이 분석모형에 고려되어 소매업태별 상대적 시장점유율에 미치는 효과가 분석되었다. 한국표준산업분류 코드에서 종합소매업에 속해 있는 백화점, 대형마트, 슈퍼마켓, 체인화 편의점, 기타 음식료품 위주 종합 소매업으로 구분된 소매업태간 시장점유율은 매월 각 소매업태별 판매액을 합산하여 월별 총 소매판매액을 계산한 후, 각 소매업태의 판매액이 총 소매판매액에서 차지하는 비율로 측정하였다. 통제변수로 소매업태별 종사자 수, 통화량(M2)이 모형에 추가되어 분석되었다. 분석결과, 신규 SSM 시장진입으로 인한 소매업태별 시장점유율 변화는 대형마트에서만 통계적으로 유의한 결과가 도출되었다. SSM의 누적 점포수는 모든 소매업태의 시장점유율 변화에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나 그 영향력에 대한 방향성이 소매업태별로 다르게 나타났다. 먼저 SSM의 확산은 대형마트와 편의점의 시장점유율을 감소시킨 반면에 백화점, 슈퍼마켓, 기타 음식료품 위주 종합 소매점의 시장점유율에는 긍정적인 공헌을 한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과에 대한 논의, 시사점, 그리고 향후 연구 방향이 제시되었다.

패션 주얼리 소비자들의 구매행동에 관한 연구: 점포와 무점포를 중심으로 (Fashion Jewerly Consumers' Purchasing Behavior: Store Retailing and Non-Store Retailing)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine fashion jewelry consumers' purchasing behavior, and to compare store retailing consumers and non-store retailing consumers. Subjects were 614 women in age from 20 to 55 years old in Seoul for this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, 2-test, and t-test were used. As the results, 52.9% of respondents had purchased fashion jewelry products via store retailing such as department store, road shop, discount store, while 47.1% of respondents had purchased them through non-store retailing such as internet shopping mall, TV home shopping, and catalog shopping. It revealed that conspicuous consumption had 2 factors: public-self consciousness and luxury product preference. Fashion leader consisted of 3 factors: fashion innovation, fashion interest, and fashion opinion leader. Brand royalty encompassed brand recognition, brand preference, and brand trust. Generally, store retailing consumers had more conspicuous consumption, higher fashion leadership, and stronger brand royalty than non-store retailing consumers. Based on these results, marketing strategies would be suggested for fashion jewelry markets.

할인점과 백화점에서의 상품 구매빈도에 따른 시장세분화 및 세분시장의 상점태도 및 의류상품 구매 특성 (Market segmentation based on purchase frequency of products in department store and low-price retailing and difference among segments)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to segment the market based on purchase frequency of products such as apparel, food, home electronics, life commodity in department store and low-price retailing, 2) to identify differences among segments in belief and attitude toward each store, purchase frequency of apparel items in each store and demographic variables. The data were collected via a self-administered questionnaire from 274 married women living in Seoul, Korea and analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and x$^2$-test. The results of this study were as follows: First, using cluster analysis on purchase frequency of products in each store, four groups were identified and labeled as department store patronage/ non-purchasers of apparel in low-price retailing(25.2%), purchasers of apparel in department store and low-price retailing(16.8%), low-price retailing patronage(30.3%) and non-purchasers of products in department store and low-price retailing(27.0%). Second, a series of one-way ANOV As revealed significant differences among four segments on beliefs of low-price retailing(four store attributes: price and variety of apparel product, facilities for convenient shopping, promotion, brand-reputation and fashionability of apparel product) and department store(three store attributes: price and variety of apparel product, facilities for convenient shopping and promotion) and attitude toward low-price retailing and department store. Attitude toward each store was yielded using Fishbein's multiattributes model. There were also significant differences among groups in purchase frequency of seven apparel items in low-price retailing and six apparel items in department store, and six demographic and personal variables(age, educational status, type of husband's occupation, monthly income and housing). Finally, the papers discussed manageral implications for each segments as well as theoretical implications.
