A modified grey clustering method is presented to systematically evaluate the risk of water inrush in karst tunnels. Based on the center triangle whitenization weight function and upper and lower limit measure whitenization weight function, the modified grey evaluation model doesn't have the crossing properties of grey cluster and meets the standard well. By adsorbing and integrating the previous research results, seven influence factors are selected as evaluation indexes. A couple of evaluation indexes are modified and quantitatively graded according to four risk grades through expert evaluation method. The weights of evaluation indexes are rationally distributed by the comprehensive assignment method. It is integrated by the subjective factors and the objective factors. Subjective weight is given based on analytical hierarchy process, and objective weight obtained from simple dependent function. The modified grey evaluation model is validated by Jigongling Tunnel. Finally, the water inrush risk of Shangjiawan Tunnel is evaluated by using the established model, and the evaluation result obtained from the proposed method is agrees well with practical situation. This risk assessment methodology provides a powerful tool with which planners and engineers can systematically assess the risk of water inrush in karst tunnels.

Recently, for the purpose of choosing reasonable and economical construction, the decision making analyses, such as VE (Value Engineering) and LCC (Life Cycle Cost), are generally performed. But, these methods have some limitations for the application to subway tunnel construction method. So, the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) analysis is applied to determine relative importance for obtaining objectivity in quantitative analysis. And, the LCSC (Life Cycle Social Cost) method is developed to account for the social loss and risk by tunnel construction. From the case of the subway ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ lot, those methods are very useful to decision making analysis. And, in that case, both quantitative and quantitative analysis appraisement, the drilling and blasting method is evaluated useful alternative proposal in comparing with the cut and cover method.

In recent years, the development of weapons systems in the field of defense research and development has become increasingly large, complex, and long-term, and so have budgets and the time spans involved. In order to improve this, the Weapon Systems Requirement Verification Committee, which benchmarked the preliminary feasibility of the private sector, was established to verify the appropriateness of requirements, and the necessity and priority of the projects. This research proposes a methodology for analyzing and prioritizing proposed weapons systems for effective and strategic allocation of defense budget funding. First, the evaluation factors that can be used in the defense sector were assessed by analyzing the related fields. We set the weighting of items by using the analytical hierarchy process for technical risk assessment and technical profitability evaluation. After that, we applied the methodology to 32 weapons systems and analyzed the results. In conclusion, through this study, it was possible to analyze profitability dimensions overlooked in the existing methodology.
The goal of this paper is to determine the suitability evaluation indices of a riverside reservoir space planning by classifying major indicators and calculating AHP(Analytical Hierarchy Process) based weights of them. The major indicators were set up based on literature review and questionnaire survey to experts. Four indicator categories were developed: location, environment, resource availability and economical efficiency. And they were divided into 12 sub-categories for calculating AHP-based weights. First, as for the major indicator categories, the calculation shows that the weighted index of environment is the most important at 0.458, followed by location at 0.128, economical efficiency at 0.170 and resource availability at 0.154. This suggests that environment is getting more public attention and the reservoir is regarded as a facility that is connected to a river. Those weight values were considered in calculating final weights for each of 12 sub-categories. Among them water quality and ecological environment take top ranks at 0.190 and 0.186, respectively. The lower ranks include access 0.112, resource availability of site 0.082, tourism resource 0.078, users 0.076, available land 0.052, area of site 0.031, shape of site and deterioration level 0.030 and percentage of private land 0.030 - which represents general considerations in other space planning. The difference of the top rank (water quality, 0.190) and the last one (percentage of private land, 0.027) is 0.163. The above result shows that users regard environmental aspect and resource availability more important than easiness of construction.
There have been lots of studies on locational factors of companies, but, very few studies for Korean shipping companies. This study analyzes locational factors for Korean shipping companies using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. For the study model, the first level is consisted by software, hardware and city policy factors. As more specific factors, the second level is formed by three factors of the first level. The third level consists of Seoul and Busan to evaluate competitive advantage for location of shipping companies. We carried out an analytical survey focused on the executives of shipping companies and related experts, and derived the priority order for locational factors of Korean shipping companies as follow. Firstly, software factors turned out the most important factor for location of Korean shipping companies. Next, Busan has a competitive advantage only in city policy factors. However, there are much of competitive disadvantages in both software and hardware factors for location of shipping companies compared against Seoul.

Recently the technical advances and complexities have generated much of the difficulties in managing the project resources, for both scheduling and costing to accomplish the project in the most efficient manner. The project manager is frequently required to render judgments concerning the schedule and resource adjustments. This research develops an analytical model for a schedule-cost and risk analysis based on visual PERT/CPM. We used a three-step approach: 1) in the first step, a deterministic PERT/CPM model for the critical path and estimating the project time schedule and related resource planning and we developed a heuristic model for crash and stretch out analysis based upon a time-cost trade-off associated with the crash and stretch out of the project. 2) In second step, we developed web-based risk evaluation model for project analysis. Major technologies used for this step are AHP (analytic hierarchy process, fuzzy-AHP, multi-attribute analysis, stochastic network simulation, and web based decision support system. Also we have developed computer programs and have shown the results of sample runs for an R&D project risk analysis. 3) We developed an optimization model for project resource allocation. We used AHP weighted values and optimization methods. Computer implementation for this model is provided based on GUI-Type objective-oriented programming for the users and provided displays of all the inputs and outputs in the form of GUI-Type. The results of this research will provide the project managers with efficient management tools.
The tunnel collapse, large deformation of surrounding rock, water and mud inrush are the major geological disasters in soft rock tunnel construction. Among them, tunnel collapse has the most serious impact on tunnel construction. Current research backed theories have certain limitations in identifying the collapse risk of soft rock tunnels. Examining the Zhengwan high-speed railway tunnel, eight soft rock tunnel collapse influencing factors were selected, and the combination of indicator weights based on the analytic hierarchy process and entropy weighting methods was obtained. The results show that the groundwater condition and the integrity of the rock mass are the main influencing factors leading to a soft rock tunnel collapse. A comprehensive fuzzy evaluation model for the collapse risk of soft rock tunnels is being proposed, and the real-time collapse risk assessment of the Zhengwan tunnel is being carried out. The results obtained via the fuzzy evaluation model agree well with the actual situation. A tunnel section evaluated to have an extremely high collapse risk and experienced a local collapse during excavation, verifying the feasibility of the collapse risk evaluation model. The collapse risk evaluation model proposed in this paper has been demonstrated to be a promising and innovative method for the evaluation of the collapse risk of soft rock tunnels, leading to safer construction.
The service quality survey for the customers of Gwangyang container port has been done since 2005. It has been difficult to compare annual levels or rival ports because the calculation of weights among service dimensions that is the most important procedure of the assessment systems did not be founded. In particular, the calculation results by the Analytical Hierarchy Process that specializes in estimating the weights were very unstable and not comparable because they were fluctuated annually more than 90% for the specific item. The objective of this study is to support the establishment for new assessment system of service quality with cost- and time-effective tools at Gwangyang port. The confirmatory factor analysis methodology applied to 2007-2009 survey data from the customers of Gwangyang port can estimate ex-post weights to measure annually the stable service quality. The proposed methodology allows us to build the assessment system of more scientific and accurate service quality while reducing the survey items. By this study, a port company can measure accurately the quality of service and improve its competitiveness through being compared to previous periods and leading companies.
