2차원 B-스플라인 기저 고차패널법의 수치실험 (Numerical Experimentation of a 2-D B-Spline Higher Order Panel Method)

  • 기하학적 형상과 유동의 해를 B-스플라인으로 표현하는 2차원 고차 패널법이 개발되어 수중익 문제의 해석에 적용되었다. 기존의 Lee/Kerwin은 한 패널에 여러 개의 제어점을 배치하여 최소자승법에 의해 해를 구하였으나, 본 논문에서는 필요한 개수의 제어점 만을 표면에 규칙적으로 배열하여 해를 구할 수 있음을 수치 실험을 통하여 보였다. 특히, 날개 뒷날에서의 압력 점프의 값이 명시적으로 영이 되도록 하는 동역학적 Kutta 조건식의 도입이 중요하고, 이의 적용이 안정된 해를 보장함을 확인하였다. 해석해에 의해서 구해진 2차원 날개의 압력 분포와의 비교를 통하여, 적은 수의 제어점을 선정하여도 정확한 해를 얻을 수 있음을 보였으며, 동시에 계산속도도 현저하게 감소함을 보였다.

난류 와류의 입사에 의한 이차원 평판 에어포일 캐스케이드의 광대역 소음장의 계산 (Computation of Broadband Noise of a 2-B Flat-airfoil Cascade Subject to Ingested Turbulence)

  • Acoustic power spectrum of the upstream and downstream sound field due to an isotropic frozen turbulent gust impinging on a cascade of flat plate airfoils are computed by using a analytic formulation derived from Smith's method, and Whitehead's LINSUB codes. A parametric study of the effects on sound power of the number of blades and turbulence length scale is performed with an emphasis on analyzing the characteristics of sound power spectrum. Through the comparison of the computed results of sound power, it is found that acoustic power spectrum from the 2-D cascade subject to a ingested turbulence can be categorized into two distinct regions. one is lower frequency region where some spectral components of turbulence do not contribute to the cut-on acoustic modes and therefore the effect of the cascade geometry is more dominant ; the other is higher frequency region where all of spectral components of turbulence make contributions to cut-on acoustic modes and thus acoustic power is approximately proportional to the blade number.

Reactor core analysis through the SP3-ACMFD approach. Part I: Static solution

  • The present work proposes a solution to the static Boltzmann transport equation approximated by the simplified P3 (SP3) on angular, and the analytic coarse mesh finite difference (ACMFD) for spatial variables. Multi-group SP3-ACMFD equations in 3D rectangular geometry are solved using the GMRES solution technique. As the core time dependent analysis necessitates the solution of an eigenvalue problem for an initial condition, this work is hence devoted to development and verification of the proposed static SP3-ACMFD solver. A 3D multi-group static diffusion solver is also developed as a byproduct of this work to assess the improvement achieved using the SP3 technique. Static results are then compared against transport benchmarks to assess the proximity of SP3-ACMFD solutions to their full transport peers. Results prove that the approach can be considered as an acceptable interim approximation with outputs superior to the diffusion method, close to the transport results, and with the computational costs less than the full transport approach. The work would be further generalized to time dependent solutions in Part II.

통합개념으로서 함수 개념에 대한 역사적 고찰 (Historical investigation in the concept of function as integrated concept)

  • 함수 개념은 그 자체만으로 이루어진 단일한 개념이 아니라 산술, 기하와 같은 수학의 여러 주제가 통합된 개념이다. 따라서 함수는 수학의 밑바탕에 폭넓게 스며 있는 기본적인 개념일 뿐 아니라 변화하는 현실 세계를 이해하기 위한 개념적인 수단으로서 다양한 변화 현상을 '보기' 위해서 생각하지 않을 수 없다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 역사적인 고찰을 통해 통합개념으로서 함수 개념에 대해 고찰하였다. 특히 함수 개념과 관련된 표현이 보다 명백히 드러난 중세에서부터 19세기까지 함수 개념의 변화를 통해 통합개념으로서 함수의 모습을 살펴보았다.

CFD를 이용한 분지관.협착관의 비뉴턴 유체 해석 (The Numerical Analysis of Non-Newtonian Flow through Branched and Stenotic Tube)

  • The objective of this paper is simulating blood flow through the branched and stenotic tube numerically. SC-Tetra, which is one of the commercial code using FVM method, was utilized for this analysis. The flow is assumed as an incompressible laminar flow with the additional condition of non-Newtonian fluid. As the constitutive equation for the fluid viscosity, the following models were solved with governing equations ; Cross Model, Modified Cross Model, Carreau Model and Carreau-Yasuda Model. Final goal was achieved to get analytic data about shear stress, at specific points, changing the geometry with various factors like the bifurcation angle, diameter of the branches, the ratio of stenosis, and etc. The material property of blood was referred from the related papers. Furthermore, to verify results they were compared with those of the published papers. There were some discrepancies based on the different solver and the different data post-processing method. However, many parameters like the location of low shear stress, which arised from bifurcation or stenosis, and the tendency of various factors were found to be very similar.

계류된 사각형 부유식 방파제의 파랑제어성능 (Wave Control Performance of Moored Pontoon-Type Floating Breakwater)

  • 계류된 사각형 부유식 방파제의 파랑제어성능에 대한 해석적인 연구를 수행하였다. 고유함수 전개법을 사용하여 사자형 부유식 방파제의 운동특성과 투과율을 살펴보았다. 계류삭의 강성계수는 선형 탄성스프링으로 가정하였다. 고유함수전개법을 사용한 해석결과는 유한요소법을 사용한 수피계산결과와 전 주파수에 걸쳐 잘 일치함을 보여주었다. 사각형 부유식 방파제의 단면형상과 계류삭의 특성 능과 간은 중요한 선계변수들과 입사파의 파장을 바꿔가면서 파랑 제어성능을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 적절히 설계된 부유식 방파제는 효과적인 파랑제어구조물로 활용이 가능하다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • In order to design the power appratus such ac bus bar, the current carrying ampacity should be determined, Since it is limited by maxium operating temperature, it is very important to predict temperature-rise on it. The main causes to raise temperature are joule's loss in the current carrying conductor and induced circulating and eddy current in the tank. The heat transfer is divided into convection and radiation on boundary, determining convection heat transfer coefficient is not easy. This paper propose a new technique that can be used to estimate the temperature rise in the extra high voltage bus bar. The heat transfer coefficient is analytically calculated by applying Nusselt Number depending on temperature as well as model geometry. The analytic method which use heat transfer coefficient is coupled with finite element method. The temperature distribution in the bus bar by the proposed method shows good agreement with experimental data.

Analysis of an Interior Permanent-Magnet Machines with an Axial Overhang Structure based on Lumped Magnetic Circuit Model

  • This paper shows a new magnetic field analysis of an interior permanent magnet (IPM) machines with an axial overhang structure wherein the rotor axial length exceeds that of the stator. The rotor overhang used to increase torque density of the radial flux machine is difficult to analyze because of extra consideration of axial direction, and thus it is general for machine designer to take 3-D finite element analysis (FEA) capable of considering both radial and axial complicated geometry in the machine. However, it requires too much computing time for preliminary design especially for optimization process. Therefore, in this paper a 2-D analytic method using a lumped magnetic circuit model (LMCM) is proposed to overcome the problem. For the analysis of overhang effect, the magnetic circuit is separated and solved from overhang and non-overhang regions respectively. For the validation of proposed concept, 3-D finite element analysis (FEA) is performed. From the analysis results, it is shown that our new proposed method presents good performance in terms of calculating electromotive force (EMF) and torque within a short time. Therefore, the proposed model can be useful in design of IPM with an overhang structure.

틸팅차량의 곡선부 틸팅동작 시 윤중감소율 병화에 대한 고찰 (The study of wheel unloading change in case of tilting actuation)

  • Tilting train allow the train to pass curve at higher speed without affecting passenger comfort. As the tilting trains run curve track about 30$\%$ higher than non-tilting trains, the centrifugal force and dynamic force will be higher. Therefore it is very important for tilting train to ensure safety against derailment, and to reduce the lateral track forces by applying light-weight design, optimized suspension design and steering mechanism. The 180 km/h Korean Tilting Train(TTX) which is now developing as a part of the Korean National R & D project, was designed and analytically verified to meet these special requirements. This paper describes the analytic study to verify the safety against derailment, especially on the wheel unloading in case of tilting actuation. The severest curve geometry and curving speed was assumed, the tilting control pattern was also assumed as trapezoidal force function applied to tilting bolster and bogie frame. For the comparison, the operation with the speed of tilting train without tilting actuation was numerically simulated and the operation with the balanced speed without tilting actuation was also numerically simulated. Through the numerical simulation of various operating case, we found that derailment quotients, wheel unloading and Q/P was not affected by tilting actuation and that the bogie of TTX was nicely designed to satisfy the safety against the derailment.

  • 균열의 선단 부근에 대한 응력분포를 합리적으로 예측하기 위해서는 균열을 포함하는 구조물의 국부적인 형상을 정밀하게 모델링해야 하며 이것은 상당한 시간이 요구되는 어려운 작업이 될 수 밖에 없다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 영역 내부의 요소분할이 필요 없는 경계요소법을 적용하여 균열 선단 부근의 복잡한 형상을 좀더 손쉽게 모델링하는 한편 나머지 부분은 기존의 유한요소법으로 모델링하여 이를 결합하는 해석할 수 있는 수치적 알고리즘을 연구하였다. 균열 선단 부근의 특이점 거동을 처리하기 위하여 다영역 경계요소법을 적용하고, 나머지 원방을 유한요소법을 적용하여 해석할 수 있도록 기존의 연성해석 기법을 수정, 발전시켜 다영역 경계 요소-유한요소 혼합형 정식화를 수행하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 2차원 탄성문제에 대한 수치계산을 수행함으로써 개발된 알고리즘의 타당성을 검토하였다.
