  • For satisfactory greenhouse culture, environmental factors must be kept in proper conditions. Therefore, it is important to know relations between environmental conditions and greenhouse systems. In this study, the environment variations and distributions in different types of greenhouses were measured and analyzed. The elements of environment analyzed were temperature , relative humidity, illumination, carbon dioxide and wind velocity. The analyzed greenhouse types were three different types. One of them, A type, was propagation model type by government and the other one, B type, was multiple continuous arches type which was made by farmers himself. The last one, C type, was single arch type which has no environment control system without manual temperature keeping method. The results of this study can be used for reasonable greenhouse environments managements and control.

  • The cloud environment is hypervisor-based, and many virtual machines are interconnected, which makes propagation of malicious code easier than other environments. Accordingly, this paper proposes a malicious traffic dynamic analysis system for secure cloud environment. The proposed system continuously monitors and analyzes malicious activity in an isolated virtual network environment by distinguishing malicious traffic that occurs in a cloud environment. In addition, the analyzed results are reflected in the distinguishment and analysis of malicious traffic that occurs in the future. The goal of this research is secure and efficient malicious traffic dynamic analysis by constructing the malicious traffic analysis environment in the cloud environment for detecting and responding to the new and variant malicious traffic generated in the cloud environment.

  • In this paper, the signal reception environment of the satellite communications was analyzed on urban, suburban and rural environment. The correct analysis of received environment is very important in the satellite communications because the presence of various attenuation factors. Analyze attenuation factor through the simulation and that apply to each receiving environment. The urban and suburban various received sensitivity is determined according to building height and density. Moreover, attenuation occurs in rural areas due to the mountainous and vegetation. In this paper, we analysis of variety receiving environment according to movement of the ground station and the satellites can be utilized to provide stable multimedia services.

  • In this paper, we proposed a high precision location estimation algorithm using an enhanced decision scheme for RTLS and analyzed its performance in point of an average estimation error distance at 2D coordinates searching area, $300m\times300m$ and LOS propagation environments. Also the performance was compared with that of conventional TDOA algorithm according to the number of available reader and received sub-blink. From the results, we confirmed that the proposed location estimation algorithm using an enhanced decision scheme was able to improve an estimation accuracy even in boundary region of searching area. Moreover, effectively reduced an error distance in entire searching area so that increased the stability of location estimation in RTLS. Therefore, we verified that the proposed algorithm provided a more higher estimation accuracy and stability than conventional TDOA.

  • This paper discuss a performance evaluation of the synchronization algorithm for hybrid networks in industrial environments. The proposed algorithms minimizes synchronization errors which were caused from channel, Propagation, and frequency delays. The modified RBS and offset synchronization methods can be operated by adjustment parameters. The differential BP (Back-off Period) adjustment can synchronize the local time of each node with master node's time in hybrid networks. For the performance analysis, the data transmission time between the wired and wireless devices are investigated. The experimental results show the performance evaluations in terms of the polling service time and an average end-to-end delay.

  • The composite blades of offshore wind turbines accumulate structural damage such as fatigue cracking due to harsh operation environments during their service time, leading to premature structural failures. This paper investigates various fatigue crack models for reproducing crack development in composite blades and proposes a stochastic approach to predict fatigue crack evolution and to analyse failure probability for the composite blades. Three typical fatigue models for the propagation of fatigue cracks, i.e., Miner model, Paris model and Reifsnider model, are discussed to reproduce the fatigue crack evolution in composite blades subjected to cyclical loadings. The lifetime probability of fatigue failure of the composite blades is estimated by stochastic deterioration modelling such as gamma process. Based on time-dependent reliability analysis and lifecycle cost analysis, an optimised maintenance policy is determined to make the optimal decision for the composite blades during the service time. A numerical example is employed to investigate the effectiveness of predicting fatigue crack growth, estimating the probability of fatigue failure and evaluating an optimal maintenance policy. The results from the numerical study show that the stochastic gamma process together with the proper fatigue models can provide a useful tool for remaining useful life predictions and optimum maintenance strategies of the composite blades of offshore wind turbines.

  • Recent network environment has been rapidly evolved to cloud computing environment based on the development of the Internet technologies. Furthermore there is an increasing demand on mobile cloud computing due to explosive growth of smart devices and wide deployment of LTE-based cellular networks. Thus mobile Desktop-as-a-Service(DaaS) could be a pervasive service for nomadic users. In addition, video streaming traffic is currently more than two-thirds of mobile traffic and ever increasing. All such trends enable that video streaming in mobile DaaS could be an important concern for mobile cloud computing. It should be noted that the performance of the Transmission Control Protocol(TCP) on cloud host servers greatly affects Quality of Service(QoS) of video streams for mobile users. With widely deployed Linux server platforms for cloud computing, in this paper, we conduct an experimental analysis of the twelve Linux TCP variants in mobile DaaS environments. The results of our experiments show that the TCP Illinois outperforms the other TCP variants in terms of wide range of packet loss rate and propagation delay over LTE-based wireless links between cloud servers and mobile devices, even though TCP CUBIC is usually used in default in the current Linux systems.

  • Recently much attention has been devoted to femtocell's potential to improve indoor cellular coverage and high speed wireless communications. Femtocell based commercial services have been already launched in some countries and standardization activities are actively on-going, there has been concern however over potential issues of interference between femtocells and the micro/macro networks. With universal frequency reuse, the ensuing cross-tier interference causes unacceptable data rate and outage probability, so an analysis of effect of interference in femtocell embedded networks would be necessary for a stable system design. This paper investigates the effect of interference on system performances of femtocell embedded hierarchical cell structure (HCS) networks considering the characteristics of propagation environments. Various channel parameters are specially considered for indoor environments where most of femtocells are deployed to investigate the effect of interference of femtocell embedded RCS networks. System capacity and coverage are provided with variant distance between macrocell and femtocell, location of the user in femtocell coverage, and characteristic of building structures.

  • Wireless access in vehicle environment (WAVE) communication is currently being researched as core wireless communication technologies for cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS). WAVE consists of both vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication, which refers to communication between vehicles, and vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) communication, which refers to the communication between vehicles and road-side stations. V2I has a longer communication range than V2V, and its communication range and reception rate are heavily influenced by various factors such as structures on the road, the density of vehicles, and topography. Therefore, domestic environments in which there are many non-lines of sight (NLOS), such as mountains and urban areas, require optimized communication channel modeling based on research of V2I propagation characteristics. In the present study, the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) was measured on both an experience road and a test road, and the large-scale characteristics of the WAVE communication were analyzed using the data collected to assess the propagation environment of the WAVE-based V2I that is actually implemented on highways. Based on the results of this analysis, this paper proposes a WAVE communication channel model for domestic public roads by deriving the parameters of a dual-slope logarithmic distance implementing a two-ray ground-reflection model.
