센서 데이터를 이용한 전기 기관차의 이상 상태 요인분석 (Failure Analysis to Derive the Causes of Abnormal Condition of Electric Locomotive Subsystem)

  • In recent years, the diminishing of operation and maintenance cost using advanced maintenance technology is attracting many companies' attention. Especially, the heavy machinery industry regards it as a crucial problem since a failure of heavy machinery requires high cost and long downtime. To improve the current maintenance process, the heavy machinery industry tries to develop a methodology to predict failure in advance and to find its causes using usage data. A better analysis of failure causes requires more data so that various kinds of sensor are attached to machines and abundant amount of product usage data is collected through the sensor network. However, the systemic analysis of the collected product usage data is still in its infant stage. Many previous works have focused on failure occurrence as statistical data for reliability analysis. There have been less works to apply product usage data into root cause analysis of product failure. The product usage data collected while failures occur should be considered failure cause analysis. To do this, this study proposes a methodology to apply product usage data into failure cause analysis. The proposed methodology in this study is composed of several steps to transform product usage into failure causes. Various statistical analysis combined with product usage data such as multinomial logistic regression, T-test, and so on are used for the root cause analysis. The proposed methodology is applied to field data coming from operated locomotive and the analysis result shows its effectiveness.

Impact Wrench의 체계적인 설계를 위한 동역학 해석 방법에 대한 고찰 (On the study of methodology of dynamic analysis for systematic designing Impact Wrench)

  • Impact wrench has a sophisticated structure to implement various pre-designed mechanisms with specific functions. In the structure of impact wrench, the gear box has an important role to generate impacting force of anvil from actuating torque. Since, it requires to design systematically the gear box for accurate mechanism of operation and transferring motions. In this paper, a methodology of dynamic analysis, which is useful to design mechanical system, is proposed and applied to impact wrench, sequentially. At first, the way to perform dynamic analysis for design, which is progressed from component to assembled system, is introduced. Secondly, the proposed methodology is applied to designing impact wrench. Eventually, the results of parameter study with proposed methodology are applied to actual design for design optimization. And optimized-design is evaluated in the view of accurate operation and structural stability.

Experimental validation of the seismic analysis methodology for free-standing spent fuel racks

  • Spent fuel racks are steel structures used in the storage of the spent fuel removed from the nuclear power reactor. Rack units are submerged in the depths of the spent fuel pool to keep the fuel cool. Their free-standing design isolates their bases from the pool floor reducing structural stresses in case of seismic event. However, these singular features complicate their seismic analysis which involves a transient dynamic response with geometrical nonlinearities and fluid-structure interactions. An accurate estimation of the response is essential to achieve a safe pool layout and a reliable structural design. An analysis methodology based on the hydrodynamic mass concept and implicit integration algorithms was developed ad-hoc, but some dispersion of results still remains. In order to validate the analysis methodology, vibration tests are carried out on a reduced scale mock-up of a 2-rack system. The two rack mockups are submerged in free-standing conditions inside a rigid pool tank loaded with fake fuel assemblies and subjected to accelerations on a unidirectional shaking table. This article compares the experimental data with the numerical outputs of a finite element model built in ANSYS Mechanical. The in-phase motion of both units is highlighted and the water coupling effect is detailed. Results show a good agreement validating the methodology.

관계형 데이터베이스 응용시스템을 위한 통합 설계방법론 개발 -객체지향 분석.설계 방법론을 중심으로- (Development of Integrated Design Methodology for Relational Database Application -Focusing on Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Methodology-)

  • 본 논문에서는 UML(Unified Modeling Language)을 토대로 유스케이스(use case) 중심의 객체지향 분석 설계 방법론을 기반으로 한, 관계형 데이터베이스 통합 설계방법론에 대하여 다룬다. 본 통합 설계방법론에서 사용하는 개념모델은 비즈니스 프로화일(business profile)에 기반을 두고 있으며, 6단계로 구성되어 있다. 첫 번째 단계에서는 비즈니스 유스케이스(business use case)가 식별되어 마크로액티비티 다이어그램(macroactivity diagram)으로 표현되고, 두 번째 단계에서 마크로액티비티 다이어그램은 비즈니스 객체(business object)와 비즈니스 객체흐름(business object flow) 그리고 비즈니스 사용자책임(business worker's responsibilities)을 이용하여 상세 비즈니스 활동다이어그램(detailed business activity diagram)으로 변환된다. 세 번째 단계에서는 상세 비즈니스 활동다이어그램을 기반으로 시스템 전체의 정적 구조를 설명하는 비즈니스 클래스다이어그램(business class diagram)으로 변환된다. 네 번째 단계에서 비즈니스 클래스다이어그램은 대응하는 관계형 데이터베이스 초기 개념모델을 대표하는 클래스다이어그램으로 변환된다. 다섯 번째 단계에서 클래스다이어그램에 일반화와 특수화, 역할과 활동, 클래스 추가 그리고 중복 연관에 따른 추가적인 변환이 이루어지고, 마지막으로 관계형 데이터베이스 스키마로 변환이 이루어지게 된다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법론을 적용함으로써, 객체지향 분석 설계 방법론과 관계형 데이터베이스 설계방법론 사이에 유기적 연결이 이루어지게 되어, 객체지향 분석 설계 방법론 관계형 데이터베이스설계 방법론을 통합적으로 다룰 수 있게 된다. 이에따라 관계형 데이터베이스 기반의소프트웨어 시스템에 대한 객체지향 방식의 일관된 그리고 통합된 구축방안이 제공된다. 사례 연구로 제안한 통합 설계 방법론을 비자발급시스템에 대하여 적용한다.

Cost-Effectiveness Methodology for Maritime Patrol Aircraft

  • This paper presents a formalized methodology for conducting cost-effectiveness analysis on the ROK Navy's maritime patrol aircraft. The methodology involves a Delphi method application for determining the group of appraisal variables as well as their weight values in the area of aircraft effectiveness analysis, Life-cycle costing was employed to produce cost in terms of present worth values of all costs that occur over the common 20-year life cycle. A wide range of experts was selected so that their opinions could be effectively collected and synthesized to form the framework of the effectiveness model. Such a model development strategy provides easy acceptance of the analysis result and assure fairness of the analysis.

  • This paper presents a performance characteristic analysis methodology for a linear induction motor used for a lightweight train. In general, an analytical method cannot provide accurate results in a linear motor because of large airgap, end effect, transverse edge effect, 3-dimensional configurations, large leakage, and so on. Besides, a numerical method requires lots of memory and solving time for transient analysis. However, the suggested methodology which is a kind of hybrid solution with an analytical method and a numerical method is very fast and accurate. Based on the methodology, 3-D FEM analyses for various design schemes of the secondary reaction plate have been done and from the analysis results, the best configuration for an urban railway transit is chosen.

외식.조리 관련 연구의 동향 분석 (A Study on Trend Analysis in Hospitality - related Study)

  • In a study, the selection of a relevant methodology cannot be determined without an effort First of all, the philosophical view or understanding of the nature of a study area will be agreed, based on which a series of judgment will be performed on a process identifying a foundation or a validity of a knowledge. The findings are as follows. First, it analyzed the trend of food serviceㆍculinary art-related studies by subject and examined its awareness. The most studies are related to trend analysisㆍfood service, 104 papers, following by financial and strategic fulfillment, 76 papers. Service quality and customer-related studies are 38, individual and organization-related studies are 31 papers, education training 18 papers, while legal review are only 2 papers. Second, for trend analysis and awareness on study methodology, research study is at the first, 39%, following by literature study, 38.7%. Most studies are performed research and literature studies together.

Seismic performance of skewed highway bridges using analytical fragility function methodology

  • In this study, the seismic performance of skewed highway bridges has been assessed by using fragility function methodology. Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) has been used to prepare complete information about the different damage states of a 30 degree skewed highway bridge. A three dimensional model of a skewed highway bridge is presented and incremental dynamic analysis has been applied. The details of the full nonlinear procedures have also been presented. Different spectral intensity measures are studied and the effects of the period on the fragility curves are shown in different figures. The efficiency, practicality and proficiency of these different spectral intensity measures are compared. A suite of 20 earthquake ground motions are considered for nonlinear time history analysis. It has been shown that, considering different intensity measures (IM) leads us to overestimate or low estimate the damage probability which has been discussed completely.

  • The potential needs as well as visible needs of customer should be considered in order to research and analyze of the customer data. The methods to analyze customer data is classified into customer segmentation, clustering analysis model, forecasting customer response probability model, analysis of the customer break rate model and new customer analysis model by the purpose. In this study, we developed the CW-CLV (Correlation Weight Customer Lifetime Value)method that used AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)rule for enhance the reliability of customer data and quantitative analysis of the customer segmentation, based on CLV(Customer Lifetime Value). We suggest to new variables and methodology from determined CW-CLV coefficients, because all of companies respect to the diversified customers classification and complexity of consumers needs. Finally, we unfolded any company's scheduling added new methodology using simulation and leaded conclusion about the new methodology.

  • End of July. 2002 Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. Offshore Division is successfully completed Load-out & Float-off work of "AMENAM KPONO/FSO Project" similar to 300K VLCC size. The AMENAM FSO hull and topside module built at the HHI Offshore yard using "On-Ground Building Method" developed by HHI. Various methodologies/techniques like Flexi-built FPSO Hull. Topside module erection method. Load-out Float-off methodology etc. are combined to develop a successful on-ground building method. In this paper, we described the "Hull Structural Strength Analysis Methodology" using 3-D Finite Element Analysis and results. This analysis is performed to verily the structural integrity or the AMENAM FSO hull during the main load-out on two semi-submersible barges combined together.
