  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to select the methodology for SMR HRA which has characteristics that are different from existing nuclear power plants and digital-based plants. Background: We must assure safety to preoccupy export of technology to developing countries or countries interested in nuclear application. And we can be an advanced country in nuclear technology by securing original technology in the field of SMR such as SMART. Method: THERP, which is the most representative HRA methodology among all, and RARA, which is the latest HRA methodology. This study compared and evaluated THERP and RARA. Results: As a result of applying THERP and RARA methodologies which are based on LOCA EOG task analysis result, this research concluded that RARA has higher personal errors than THERP. Conclusion: This study needs validation for LOCA, emergency operations, normal and abnormal scenarios since HRA methodology was only focused on LOCA scenario. Application: The results of this study can apply as base line data when designing MMIS, which is the main control room of SMART, and when building a simulator.

  • In this paper the extension of a recently established energy-based pushover procedure in order to include the higher mode contributions to the seismic response of structures is presented and preliminary evaluated. The steps of the proposed methodology in its new formulation are quite similar to those of the well-known Modal Pushover Analysis. However, the determination of the properties of the 'modal' equivalent single-degree-of-freedom systems is achieved by a rationally founded energy-based concept. Firstly, the theoretical background and the assumptions of the proposed methodology are presented and briefly discussed. Secondly, the sequence of steps to be followed for its implementation along with the necessary equations is systematically presented. The accuracy of the methodology is evaluated by an extensive parametric study which shows that, in general, it provides better results compared to those produced by other similar procedures. In addition, the main shortcoming of the initial version of the methodology now seems to be mitigated to a large extent.

  • The overestimation and underestimation of the radioactivity concentration of difficult-to-measure radionuclides can occur during the implementation of the scaling factor (SF) method because of the uncertainties associated with sampling, radiochemical analysis, and application of SFs. Strict regulations ensure that the SF method as an indirect method does not underestimate the radioactivity of nuclear wastes; however, there are no clear regulatory guidelines regarding the overestimation. This has been leading to the misuse of the SF methodology by stakeholders such as waste disposal licensees and regulatory bodies. Previous studies have reported instances of overestimation in statistical implementation of the SF methodology. The analysis of the two most popular linear models of the SF methodology showed that severe overestimation may occur and radioactivity concentration data must be dealt with care. Since one major source of overestimation is the use of minimum detectable activity (MDA) values as true activity values, a comparative study of instrumental techniques that could reduce the MDAs was also conducted. Thermal ionization mass spectrometry was recommended as a suitable candidate for the trace level analysis of long-lived beta-emitters such as iodine-129. Additionally, the current status of the United States and Korea was reviewed from the perspective of overestimation.

  • A company's sustainable growth is a very important goal, and for this purpose, the company's business model is changing into a convergence of products and services. The purpose of PS-Offering is to maintain a long-term relationship with customers, and customer experience management is necessary for this. This study presents a service design methodology that can support customer experience management of the PS-Offering business model. The experience management portfolio analysis methodology consists of four steps: 1. Deriving service encounter through customer journey maps; 2. Identify the service structure of each service encounter in three forms (FFC, FSC, FSE). 3. Analyze the customer's emotional variables, that is, customer experience, at each service encounter, Finally, 4. After plotting the level of customer experience at the service encounter, the analysis is conducted with a customer experience management portfolio that seeks future strategic plans for this. The methodology presented in this study will help in the service design of the service encounter unit centered on customer experience. And it will improve the financial performance of the company by raising the service level of the business model.

  • The accuracy of knowledge is a major concern for expert system developers and users. Machine learning approaches have recently been found to be useful in knowledge acquisition for expert systems. However, the accuracy of concept acquired from machine learning could not be analyzed in most cases. In this paper we develop a comprehensive knowledge error analysis methodology for practical use of expert systems. Decision tree induction is an important type of machine learning method for business expert systems. Here we start to analyze with knowledge acquired from decision tree induction method, and extend the results to develop error analysis methodology for general machine learning methods. We give several examples and illustrations for these results. We also discuss the applicability of these results to multistrategy learning approaches.

  • T-splines are recently proposed geometric modeling tools. A T-spline surface is a NURBS surface with T-junctions and is defined by a control grid called T-mesh. Local refinement can be performed very easily for T-splines while it is limited for B-splines or NURBS. Using T-splines, patches with unmatched boundaries can be combined easily without special technique. In this study, the analysis methodology using T-splines is proposed. In this methodology, T-splines are used both for description of geometries and for approximation of solution spaces. Two-dimensional linear elastic and dynamic problems will be solved by employing the proposed T-spline finite element method, and the effectiveness of the current analysis methodology will be verified.

  • A recommendation system tracks past actions of a group of users to make a recommendation to individual members of the group. The computer-mediated marketing and commerce have grown rapidly nowadays so the concerns about various recommendation procedures are increasing. We introduce a recommendation methodology by which e-commerce sites suggest new products of services to their customers. The suggested methodology is based on web log analysis, product taxonomy, and association rule mining. A product recommendation system is developed based on our suggested methodology and applied to a Korean internet shopping mall. The validity of our recommendation system is discussed with the analysis of a real internet shopping mall case.

  • Advertising is a communication that aims to persuade you through communication. Local governments are enforcing a lot of budget for outdoor advertisements and exposing advertisements to various media. However, in the case of outdoor advertisements, advertisements are executed without considering the specificity of the exposure environment, so it is inferior to the budget input. Therefore, this study aims to help local advertisement agents, producers, and related parties by classifying components by combining video analysis methodology and video ad analysis methodology for effective message delivery and immersion in local outdoor advertising. As a discussion to provide an efficient production methodology for outdoor advertising video production in the future, it is an extension of exploratory research through content analysis.

  • Human errors performed during the operations have a dominant portion of the accidents. But the systematic human error evaluation methodology universally accepted is not developed yet. One of the difficulties in performing human reliability analysis is to evaluate the performance shaping factors which represent the characteristics and the circumstances in the discriminate manner. For assessing a specific human action more exactly, it is necessary to consider all of the PSFs at the same time which make an effect on the human action. In this paper, dynamic influence diagrams are introduced to model simultaneously their effects on the specific human action. And the human actions and their subsequent PSFs are categorized and classified as the complementary works. A new human error evaluation methodology using influence diagrams is developed. This methodology involves the categorization of PSFs and the PSFs quantification. The applied analysis results for the example task are shown for representative purposes. It is shown that this approach is very flexible in that it can be applied to any kind of actions.
