국내 산업들의 물 발자국 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study about Water Footprint Evaluation of Industrial Sectors)

  • 물 발자국(Water footprint)은 단위 제품 및 단위 서비스 생산 전과정(life cycle) 동안 직접 및 간접적으로 이용되는 물의 총량지표를 나타내는 것을 의미한다. 본 연구에서는 물 발자국 산정 방법을 이용하여 국내 산업에서의 직접 및 간접적인 용수량을 산정하여 효과적인 수자원 관리를 위한 하나의 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구 결과로는 원단위 용수계수가 가장 큰 산업은 농림수산품으로 약 637 $m^3/won$으로 전체 산업의 93%를 차지했다. 농림수산품 다음으로 간접적인 원단위 용수계수가 큰 산업은 석유 및 석탄 제품으로 약 13 $m^3/won$을 나타냈다. 산업연관용수량의 경우 간접적인 용수량이 가장 많은 산업 역시 농림수산품으로 직접적인 용수량이 약 25억 $m^3$인데 비해 간접적인 용수량은 약 130억 $m^3$ 정도로 나타났으며, 조사한 전체 16개 산업 중 91%를 차지했다. 화학제품의 경우 직접적인 용수량이 약 2억 $m^3$, 간접적인 용수량은 약 4억5천만 $m^3$으로 나타났다. 연구결과 직접적인 용수량보다 간접적인 용수량이 전체적으로 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 이와 같이 국가적으로 전체 산업별 물 발자국 및 용수량의 흐름을 파악함으로써, 국가의 수자원 관리 정책 수립 시 기초자료로 활용 되어질 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

산화탄소나노튜브를 이용한 메탄 하이드레이트 형성 (Effect of Oxidation Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes for Methane Hydrate Formation)

  • Methane hydrate is crystalline ice-like compounds which formed methane gas enters within water molecules composed cavity and each other from physically-bond at specially temperature and pressure condition. $1m^3$ of methane hydrate can be decomposed into the maximum of $216m^3$ of methane gas under standard condition. If these characteristics of hydrate are utilized in the opposite sense, natural gas can be fixed into water in the form of a hydrate solid. Therefore the use of hydrate is considered to be a great way to transport and store natural gas in large quantity. However, when methane hydrate is formed artificially, the amount of gas that is consumed is relatively low, due to the slow reaction rate between water and methane gas. Therefore for practical purposes in the application, the present investigation focuses on increasing the amount of gas consumed by adding chemically oxidized OMWCNTs to pure water. The results show that when 0.003 wt% of oxidation multi-walled carbon nanotubes was added to pure water, the amount of gas consumed was almost four times more than that of pure water indicating its effect in hydrate formation and the hydrate formation time decreased at alow subcooling temperature.

Estimation of irrigation return flow from paddy fields based on the reservoir storage rate

  • This study proposed a simple estimation method for irrigation return flow from paddy fields using the water balance model. The merit of this method is applicability to other paddy fields irrigated from agricultural reservoirs due to the simplicity compared with the previous monitoring based estimation method. It was assumed that the unused amount of irrigation water was the return flow which included the quick and delayed return flows. The amount of irrigation supply from a reservoir was estimated from the reservoir water balance with the storage rate and runoff model. It was also assumed that the infiltration was the main source of the delayed return flow and that the other delayed return flow was neglected. In this study, the amount of reservoir inflow and water demand from paddy field are calculated on a daily basis, and irrigation supply was calculated on 10-day basis, taking into account the uncertainty of the model and the reliability of the data. The regression rate was calculated on a yearly basis, and yearly data was computed by accumulating daily and 10-day data, considering that the recirculating water circulation cycle was relatively long. The proposed method was applied to the paddy blocks of the Jamhong and Seosan agricultural reservoirs and the results were acceptable.

엔진 실린더 내 물 유입이 커넥팅로드 조인트반력에 미치는 영향 (An Influence of Water Ingestion into Engine Cylinder on the Joint Reaction Force of the Connecting Rod)

  • This paper focus on investigating the influence of the amount of water ingestion and the engine speed on the joint reaction force of the connecting rod in engine. The connecting rod was modelled by MSC/PATRAN, the modal informations of it were obtained by the DMAP module in the MSC/NASTRAN, and the dynamic force history was computed through the flexible multibody dynamic simulation in DADS. To analyze the joint reaction force acting on the connecting rod, the 48 cases were investigated. The engine speed varies with 200, 700, 1600, 2400rpm and the volumetric ratio of water to the combustion chamber varies with 0, 10, 20, ..., 90, 95 and 97.5% . As the engine speed decreases and the amount of water ingestion increases, the joint reaction force increase. Especially when the amount of water ingestion exceeds the 70% of the volume of the combution chamber, the joint reaction force acting on the connecting rod is over the design strength.

복분자의 효소 추출 공정의 최적화 및 성분 변화 (Optimization of Macerating Enzymatic Extraction Process and Components Change of Extract of Rubus coreanus Miq. Fruit)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the optimal condition for macerating enzymatic extraction process that leads to the highest yield and the largest extracted amount of bio-active contents from Rubus coreanus Miq. fruit. The optimal extraction conditions were found as the following: The initial amount of the water added to the fruit was 20 ~ 30% by weight. The mixing ratio used for the macerating enzyme was 4 : 1 : 2 (w : w : w) for cellulase:pectinase:amylogucosidase, and the amount of the macerating enzyme added was 2% by weight. The extraction process was done at a temperature of $45{\sim}50^{\circ}C$ for 10 hours. The extraction yields on Rubus coreanus Miq. fruit by macerating enzymatic extraction process was increased by 84.3% compared to that of hot-water extraction process. The amounts of organic acids and vitamin found in the extract were also higher. The amount of polyphenol and anthocyanin contents in the extract were 185% and 257% of those from hot-water extraction, respectively. These results suggest that macerating enzymatic extraction is an effective method to boost extraction yield and to increase the amount of extraction of bio-active contents from Rubus coreanus Miq. fruit.

소해면적법에 의한 중하(Metapenaeus joyneri) 자원량 추정 시 대지속력과 대수속력 사용에 따른 자원량 차이 (Difference in biomasses depending on apllication of speed over the ground and speed through the water during biomass estimation of Metapenaeus joyneri via swept area methods)

  • The towing distance, which is speed over the ground, and the water flow quantity, which is speed through the water, were used when estimating the amount of Metapenaeus joyneri resources that rose to the surface at night using the swept area method in order to compare and analyze the difference. It was conducted using a shrimp dredge, trial fishing gear for catching Metapenaeus joyneri. Catch during the entire survey period was 188.9 kg. Monthly catch ranged from 3.1 to 109.2 kg, highest in June and lowest in September. The swept volume calculated using the speed over the ground was about 13% higher than using the speed through the water. Metapenaeus joyneri resources estimated using the towing distance ranged from 320.1 to 14,649.8 kg. Resources estimated using the water flow quantity ranged from 278.5 to 12,886.3 kg. Therefore, the amount of Metapenaeus joyneri resources estimated using the speed over the ground was about 14% higher than the method using the speed through the water, indicating that the amount of resources was overestimated.

  • Proper water management is vital to achieve high performance and durability of PEFC (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell). The effects of the residual water from PEFC after purge in shut-down processes on GDL/MEAs were investigated with freeze/thaw cycles Freeze/thaw cycle tests were conducted with single cells which were designed from transparent acryl plates. Single cells which contain several amount of residual water were cycles from $80^{\circ}C$ to $-28^{\circ}C$. The resistance changes of the single cells which have various amount of residual water were evaluated by ac-impedance analysis with 24 times of freeze/thaw cycles. Also, after the freeze/thaw cycles, the property changes were characterized by visual methods such as SEM, EPMA. Though it was difficult to observe noticeable property changes in the visual characterizations, the resistance of cells dramatically increased with the amount of remained water.

Annual Runoff Loading of Nitrogen and Phosphorus from a Paddy Field

  • The present study examined annual runoff loading of nitrogen and phosphorus in the paddy field from 1 May, 1997 to 30 April, 1998. In the investigated area, the amount of rainfall was 1,095.6 mm and 414.6 mm during cropping season and non-cropping season. The annual rainfall was 1,510.2 mm. The total amount of runoff water was 1,043.2 mm and 281.0mm during cropping season and non-cropping season, and the added total amount of runoff water during two seasons was 1,324.2 mm. The runoff loading of nutrients caused by runoff water was measured as follows. The total-N was 149.23 and $8.67kg\;ha^{-1}$ (total amount=$157.90kg^{-1}ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$), the ammonia-N 102.98 and $4.44kg\;ha^{-1}$ ($107.42kg^{-1}ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$), the nitrate-N 28.45 and $1.23kg\;ha^{-1}$ ($29.68kg^{-1}ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$), the total-P 4.16 and $0.38kg\;ha^{-1}$ ($4.54kg^{-1}ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$) during cropping and non-cropping season respectively. When the loss ratio was calculated based on amounts of chemical fertilizer, about 68.6% of nitrogen and 16.7% of phosphorus was lost by runoff from applied fertilizer amount.

쌀과 전분을 이용한 증류식 소주의 급수 변화에 따른 수율 및 향미 연구 (Effect of the Amount of Water on the Yield and Flavor of Korean Distilled Liquor Based on Rice and Corn Starch)

  • 단식 증류기를 이용한 증류식 소주는 품격 높은 향미를 지니고 있으나 희석식 소주에 비해 상대적으로 고가인 것이 문제로 지적되어 왔다. 이에 증류식 소주의 경제성 확보 방법의 하나로 담금에 전분액화법을 도입하여 급수 변화에 따른 수율 및 향미 연구를 실시하였다. 액화담금공정에 의한 발효경과는 pH, 알코올, 총산 등의 일반분석 결과 정상적이었다. 수율은 급수율과 정비례관계를 보였으며 급수율 250%가 가장 높았다. one-way ANOVA를 이용한 p<0.05 수준에서의 Duncan's multiple range test 결과에서 급수율 변화에 따른 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았고, 게다가 profile법에 의한 관능 평가 결과를 heptadiagram으로 나타내었을 때에도 그 면적과 형태의 유사성에서 보여지는 바와 같이 급수율 변화에 따른 관능차는 거의 없었다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 급수율 250%로 액화 담금한 것이 품질 차이 없이 가장 높은 수율을 보여 경제적으로 우수하였고 발효경과에서도 문제가 없어 최적의 담금 방법임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 전성장실험기간을 통하여 잉어의 먹이 섭취와 성장 및 사료효율은 스트레이너의 지소회수, 오탁된 사육수의 교환정도, 먹이의 분할공급의 회수, 적량내의 먹이 공급 및 용존산소량에 직접적이고 직각적인 반응을 나타내었다. 그러나 지소나, 물 교환을 위한 취급에는 별로 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 보였다. 특히 해로운 점은 식욕이 왕성하지 못할 때 먹이를 주는 일과 일시에 과량의 먹이는 주는 것이었다. 특히 직각적으로 삼킬 수 있는 량을 주면 물에 녹아나는 것이 거의 없고, 먹이를 준 후에도 물이 투명하지만, 그 이상의 먹이를 주면 식욕이 왕성할 때는 입속에 여분의 먹이를 머금고 삼킬 노력을 함으로써 녹아서 물에 흩어져 나오는 량이 많고, 먹이를 준 후 물이 혼탁해 진다. 그리하여, 여과조를 포함한 사육수질을 악화시키고, 성장이 불량해지고, 또 사료의 효율을 심하게 저하시킨다.
