Toxicity of ten commercial disinfectants(hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide, povidon iodine, formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, quaternary ammonium compounds(QAC), didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride(DDAC), ortho-dichlorobenzene, and copper sulfate) was measured by chinook salmon embryo-214 cell line and three fish species: flounder Paralichthys olivaceus, black rockfish Sebastes pachycephalus, and black sea bream Acanthopagrus schlegelii. The $LC_{50}$ levels of 24 hours acute toxicity with the ten disinfectants were tested in three species of fish. Effectiveness of ten chemical disinfectants were varied by each chemical as well as by species. Hydrogen peroxide showed the higest activity at 201, 269, and 139 ppm in the flounder, the black rockfish, and black sea bream, respectively. DDAC showed the lowest activity at 2.1, 1.0, and 1.5 ppm in the flounder, the black rockfish, and black sea bream, respectively. The highest variation was observed in copper sulfate by both the chemicals and the species.
The effects of various kind and amount of nitrogen fertilizers on the plant grorth. physiological , yield and extracts. ligustilide, butylidene phthalide contents of curdsdrug "Tou-ki" (AnTelica acutiloba Kitagawa) were investigated in 1989. Five plots variouskind of nitrogen fertilizers. Namely, no nitrogen, urea. ammonium nitrate, ammoniumchloride and control plot of ammonium sulfate. The other, by providing five plotsdifferent composed ratio of nitrogenous fertilizers. containing no nitrogen (No. o) .0.5-fold nitrogen (No s), control plot of 1.0-fold nitrogen(Nl.o). 1.5-fold nitrogen(Nl s)and 2.0-fold nitrogen Na. o), but nitogen was used the ammonium sulfate. The results showedthat the crude drug "Tou-ki" can ammonium chloride be produced in good yield, displayingboth good plant growth and remarkable physiologically-active conditions, and it can beproduced such that the extracts is maximized. Additionally, using methods of gaschromatography (GC) , it was established that ligustilide and butylidene phthalide, majorcomponents in the crude drug was recovered in a good yield from the fully grown plants. The other, the plant growth, the physiologically-active, the weight of whole plant, theyield of extracts and ligustilide, butylidene phthalide were seen to be best at the plotof 2.0-fold nitrogen and according to the increase or decrease of nitrogen decreasedgradually. Therefore. about 2 fold of standard quantity seems to be the most suitablequantity of nitrogen for "Tou-ki" cultivation .uot;Tou-ki" cultivation .ion .

MDABM and MDAEW, as a accelerating weight loss agents, were prepared by adding water to myristyldimethylbenzylammonium bromide(MDAB) and myristyldimethylethylammonium ethyl sulfate (MDAE) synthesized. As a result of weight loss finishing of the MDABW and MDAEW with NaOH on PET fiber, the ratio of weight loss of MDABW was very larger than that of MDAEW. This result showed that quaternary ammonium bromide had higher weight loss effect than quaternary ammonium sulfate, and the ratio of weight loss was greatly varied with the kind of quaternary ammonium salts used. In these conditions, proper treatment concentration, treatment time, and treatment bath ratio were about 8g/l, $6O{\sim}90min$, and $40:1{\sim}50:1$, respectively.
The marine sediment sustains from the anoxic condition due to increased nutrients of external sources. The nutrients are liberated from the sediment, which acts as an internal source. In hypoxic environments, anaerobic respiration results in the formation of several reduced matters, such as N2 and NH4+, N2O, Fe2+, H2S, etc. The experimental results have shown that nitrogen and sulfur played an influential, notable role in this biogeochemical cycle with expected chemical reductions and a 'diffusive' release of present nutrient components trapped in pore water inside sediment toward the bulk water. Nitate/ammonium, sulfate/sulfides, and ferrous/ferric irons are found to be the key players in these sediment-waters mutual interactions. Organonitrogen and nitrate in the sediment were likely to be converted to a form of ammonium. Reductive nitrogen is called dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium and denitrification. The steady accumulation in the sediment and surplus increases in the overlying waters of ammonium strongly support this hypothesis as well as a diffusive action of the involved chemical species. Sulfate would serve as an essential electron acceptor so as to form acid volatile sulfides in present of Fe3+, which ended up as the Fe2+ positively with an aid of the residential microbial community.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) in accordance with the regulations with respect to the combustion gases, such as NOx, SOx generated by the marine engine. The combustion gases must be equipped with a device to reduce emissions from all ships passing through the Baltic SECAs. In Korea, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the development of a device for NOx, SOx reduction. Scrubber is used in the ammonia water and the Urea solution in the waste water. The waste water containing ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate, react of the NOx and SOx gas. In this study, the recovery of by-product, which contains the waste water was used as an organic solvent extraction method of salting out. Ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate, the recovery process. A qualitative analysis of the collected by-product FT-IR analysis. Through the elemental analysis and SEM-EDS, characteristic evaluation was performed with an impurity.
To investigate ionic characteristics of acid rain by the succeeding rainfall. bulk precipitation was collected every each 5mm rainfall from march to october 1990 at Dae Jeon area. pH, sulfate nitrate, chloride, ammonium ion was measured and analyzed. The result was as follows: 1. The weighted average pH of rain was 5.1$\pm$ 0.72(4.15~7.6) and rain pH less than 5.5 was appeared 51.3% 2. Average ion concentrations of sulfate, nitrate, chloride and ammonium ion was 125.12 $\mu$eq/l, 62.38 $\mu$eq/l, 31.95 $\mu$eq/l, 66.6 $\mu$eq/l and rates of each anions was 57%, 28.4%, 14.6% and rate of sulfate by nitrate was 2 times. 3. There is no correlations time interval of rainfall and Ion concentration change. 4. From initial to 15mm rainfall, each ion concentrations were decreased. and average concentration of pH, SO$^{-2}_{4}$, Cl ion concentration was increased in the succeeding rainfall 5. Only sulfate ion was correlated by the simple regression analysis with pH except NO$^{-}_{3}$, Cl$^{-}$ and NH$_{4}^{+}$ Cl$^{-}$ correlation coefficient was very high at the multiple regression analysis with pH. 6. Simple & multiple correlation coefficient among anions and NH$^{+}_{4}$ was very high especially N$^{+}_{4}$ and SO$^{2-}_{4}$ at simple regression analysis and SO$^{-2}_{4}$ and NO$_{3}^{-}$, Cl$^{-}$, NH$_{4}^{-}$ at multiple regression analysis.
A bacterial strain No. 2, which highly produced a-glucosidase, was isolated from Kimchi and identified to be a similar species of Pediococcus halophilus. This enzyme was purified by protamine sulfate, ammonium sulfate fractionation, ion exchange and gel filtration. The maximal a-glucosidase activity was observed at pH 6.0 and this enzyme was stable at pH 6.0~ 7.5. The optimum temperature of this enzyme activity was $37^{\circ}C$, but enzyme activity was gradually lost above $37^{\circ}C$. This enzyme was activated by 10 mM MgCh and inhibited by 10 mM mercaptoethanol. The kinetics of PNPG(p-Nitrophenyl-a-D-glucopyranoside) and maltose were Kp0.52 mM/27.5 pg protein, $V_{max}$= 0.021 mM/min 27.5 ${\mu}g$ protein and $K_m$= 0.32 mMD7.5 ${\mu}g$ protein, $V_{max}$= 0.025 mM/min 27.5 ${\mu}g$ protein, respectively. The molecular weight of $\alpha$-glucosidase was about 37, 000.
Cultivation conditions for the production of extracellular alkaline protease by a nonpiamentation Serratia sp. and purification of the enzyme were studied. The maximum enzyme level was obtained at the beginning of stationary phase when the organism was cultured on brain heart infusion medium at $25^{\circ}C$ under aeration (gyratory shaking, 180 cycles/min). The enzyme was purified about 100 fold with 16.5% yield by ammonium sulfate precipitation, ammonium sulfate fractionation followed by DEAE-cellulose chromatography (1st and 2nd). The purified enzyme moved as a single symmetrical peak in the analytical ultracentrifuge. The enzyme demonstrated its maximum activity at pH 8.5-9.0 and 4$0^{\circ}C$ when vitamin-free casein was used as a substrate.
This experiment was carried out to investigate the changes on nutrient uptake and yields of onion when it was applied with urea and ammonium sulfate as nitrogen fertilizer types; potassium chloride and potasssium sulfate as potassium fertilizer types and lime requirement and phosphorus absorption coefficient controlled 5% as soil improvement index. The variety of onion used was CheonJuHwang and the soil used was Yonggye series in the Jeonnam Muan area. The amounts of N, P and K uptake were higher in the mixed application plot of ammonium sulfate and potassium sulfate than in the plot of urea or potassium chloride. The sulfate content of soil was higher in the period of plant growth than in the harvest stage. The sulfate content of plant was highest in the harvest stage and this content was higher in the stem and in the leaf than in the bulb. The sugar content of onion was 7.43~8.23 Brix content was higher in the large bulb than in the small bulb. The weight of dry matter and the rate of good quality were high in the mixed application plot of ammonium sulfate and potassium sulfate, so the yield of onion was increased 2~6% compared with control.
