Seismic performance assessment of the precast concrete buildings using FEMA P-695 methodology

  • The precast reinforced concrete frame system is a method for industrialization of construction. However, the seismic performance factor of this structural system is not explicitly clarified in some existing building codes. In this paper, the seismic performance factor for the existing precast concrete building frame systems with cast-in-situ reinforced shear walls were evaluated. Nonlinear behavior of the precast beam-column joints and cast-in-situ reinforced shear walls were considered in the modeling of the structures. The ATC-19's coefficient method was used for calculating the seismic performance factor and the FEMA P-695's approach was adopted for evaluating the accuracy of the computed seismic performance factor. The results showed that the over-strength factor varies from 2 to 2.63 and the seismic performance factor (R factor) varies from 5.1 to 8.95 concerning the height of the structure. Also, it was proved that all of the examined buildings have adequate safety against the collapse at the MCE level of earthquake, so the validity of R factors was confirmed. The obtained incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) results indicated that the minimum adjusted collapse margin ratio (ACMR) of the precast buildings representing the seismic vulnerability of the structures approximately equaled to 2.7, and pass the requirements of FEMA P-695.

  • 이용자의 서비스 고급화 및 다양화에 대한 요구수준이 증대함에 따라 차세대 기술을 이용한 고속도로교통관리시스템 제공과 체계적인 운영이 필요하게 되었으며, 이에 따라 향후 차세대 고속도로 교통관리시스템(exTMS)을 제공하고자 한다. 이러한 exTMS 기반의 고속도로 교통관리방안의 정량적 효과분석을 통한 시스템 도입의 타당성을 마련해야하며, 체계적인 운영이 이루어질 수 있도록 효과를 기반으로 한 운영 기준이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 교통상황(V/C=0.5/0.8/1.2)에 따라 각 상황별 전체시스템 및 개별시스템(갓길LCS/VMS(Hi-pass기반의 교통정보제공, VMS의 기능 및 서비스 개선포함)/램프미터링)을 적용하여 효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 전 시스템 및 개별시스템이 적용되었을 경우 모두 통행속도가 개선되는 효과가 나타났으며, V/C가 높은 교통상황일수록 시스템의 적용효과가 큰 것으로 분석되었다. 개별시스템 중 갓길 LCS의 효과가 가장 크게 나타났으며, 교통정보제공을 통한 우회율이 11%일 경우도 효과가 비교적 높게 나타났다.

Research on Discontinuous Pulse Width Modulation Algorithm for Single-phase Voltage Source Rectifier

  • Single phase voltage source converter (VSC) is an important power electronic converter (PEC), including single-phase voltage source inverter (VSI), single-phase voltage source rectifier (VSR), single-phase active power filter (APF) and single-phase grid-connection inverter (GCI). As the fundamental part of large scale PECs, single-phase VSC has a wide range of applications. In the paper, as first, on the basis of the concept of the discontinuous pulse-width modulation (DPWM) for three-phase VSC, a new DPWM of single-phase VSR is presented by means of zero-sequence component injection. Then, the transformation from stationary frame (abc) to rotating frame (dq) is designed after reconstructing the other orthogonal current by means of one order all-pass filter. Finally, the presented DPWM based single-phase VSR is established analyzed and simulated by means of MATLAB/SIMULINK. In addition, the DPWMs presented by D. Grahame Holmes and Thomas Lipo are discussed and simulated in brief. Obviously, the presented DPWM can also be used for single-phase VSI, GCI and APF. The simulation results show the validation of the above modulation algorithm, and the DPWM based single-phase VSR has reduced power loss and increased efficiency.

  • 문화콘텐츠기술(CT, Culture Technology)은 문화 산업 발전을 위한 기술로 문화콘텐츠 기획과 상품화, 미디어탑재, 전달의 가치사슬 과정 등 문화상품의 부가가치를 높이기 위해 소용되는 모든 형태의 유무형의 기술이다. 문화콘텐츠 기술(CT)분야에서 음악의 특징을 분석하여 다양한 어플리케이션을 개발하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이와 관련된 연구 중 EEG를 측정하고 그 결과에서 음악적 자극에 대한 반응을 검출하여 활용하는 연구가 주목받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 EEG에서 음악적 자극에 대응되는 반응신호들을 증폭시켜 평균화 하는 방법인 ERP(Event-Related Potentials) 실험을 기반으로 음색을 추출하는 과정에서 노이즈를 제거하기 위한 방법으로 ICA 알고리즘을 적용하여 음색 추출 및 노이즈 제거 결과에 따른 EEG의 특성을 분석하여 적용한다.

K1A1 전차 전차장 열상조준경의 관측창 재생을 위한 창 정비기술 연구 (A Study on Deport Maintenance Technology for Recycling Observation Window of the K1A1 Tank Commander's Primary Thermal Sight)

  • K1A1 tank commander's primary thermal sight is a device that enables tank commanders to detect, identify, aim and track the target by observing targets in all directions during day, night and in situations of smokescreen and fog through $360^{\circ}$ rotation independent from the gunner's primary thermal sight and stabilizing the line of sight even under the vibrations occurring when the tank is standstill and moving. The main function of this device is to detect and process visible and thermal images and deliver the final images to the tank commander. One of the core parts to that end is the observation window (daytime/thermal image window). This core part is mounted at the entrance of the optical path for observing the target and plays the role of making visible light during the daytime and infrared light during the night pass through the target and transmitting the resultant images to the internal optical system of the tank commander's primary thermal sight. Such core parts have been selected as depot maintenance items so that they are replaced by new parts instead of being recycled when they are subjected to maintenance in most cases. That is, the military budget is wasted because such parts are replaced by new parts despite that they can be recycled for maintenance. Therefore, this study proposed a mounting tool for polishing and coating observation windows (daytime and thermal image window) using planar polishing equipment and DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating equipment. In addition, this study presented an amendment (proposal) of the Depot Maintenance Work Request (DMWR) already published to verify the performance of recycled products including the establishment of inspection standards for recycling processes.

철도신호시스템 중첩운영으로 인한 전자파장해현상 분석 및 대책 (Analysis of EMI Between Overlapped Railway Signalling Systems and Its Countermeasure)

  • ATS(Automatic Train Stop) system makes train stop when it runs over the speed limit and ensure the safe operation of train. Seoul Metro line 2 in Korea, which started its passenger service in 1982, has adopted ATS system for its signaling system. The ATS system has only a train stop function at the time of emergency, and Seoul Metro is planning to replaced them with ATC(Automatic Train Control)/ATO(Automatic Train Operation) system which can provide the dedicated speed control for headway reduction and automatic operation of train. Until all the ATS system is replaced with the new ATC system, both systems are to operate simultaneously at the same metro line. In this situation, ATS system sometimes reveals improper operation: train stops suddenly without any obstacles in front of it. These emergency stops cause interruption of passenger service, and abnormal abrasion of wheels and rail. This paper makes it clear that these interruptions are caused by EMI phenomena between ATS on-board device and ATC wayside device : Signal current flowing in AF track circuit of ATC is turn out to be a EMI source that prevent normal operation of the ATS on-board device. Although the two systems have different frequency-ranges (ATS system has frequency range between $78{\sim}130$[kHz] and ATC system has frequency range between $9.5{\sim}16.5$[kHz]), it turned out that EMI phenomena appears between the both systems. This is investigated by measuring the output signal from ATS on-board device passing over ATC wayside device. The FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) analysis of the signal reveals that AF track circuit signal is transmitted to the ATS on-board device and induce noise causing improper operation. The countermeasures to the EMI phenomena are examined in three ways; blocking EMI transmission, enforcement of EMS (Electromagnetic Susceptibility) of ATS on-board device, and blocking the EMI source. It is suggested that the practical solution be blocking EMI source temporarily, that is breaking AF track circuit signal when the trains with ATS on-board device pass over it. To this purpose, TODS(Train Occupation Detection System) is developed, and has made a success in preventing the EMI problem of Seoul Metro line 2.

Participation Scheme of Smallholder Dairy Farmers in the Northeast Thailand on Improving Feeding Systems

  • A participation scheme involving smallholder dairy farmers in improving dairy productivity through the use of local feeds, on-farm established feeds and crop residues was carried out in the Northeast, Thailand. At six milk collection centers, 63 farmers with 340 lactating cows participated in this research and demonstration of feed supplements. Farmers and cows were allotted to receive respective feed supplements: high-quality feed block (HQFB), high-quality feed pellet (HQFP), dried cassava leaf/cassava hay, dried leucaena leaf and cottonseed meal: 5% urea treated rice straw was fed as a source of roughage throughout the feeding period of the dry season. Trainings and workshops were organized by the researchers at the University, research station, demonstration sites and on-farms. Regular visits to the fartns by researchers and extension officers were made while discussions and demonstrations were performed in addition. Participating farmers also visited other farmers during the demonstration which offered a real practical perspective and farmer-to-farmer interaction. As a result of this participation and demonstration scheme, the farmers could learn more effectively and accepted the technology more readily, especially the practicality of the feed preparation, feed establishment, feeding method and feed reserve. Strategic supplementation of these feed supplements resulted in improving milk yield, milk quality, overall condition of the cows and higher income return through increased productivity and lower level use of concentrate to milk yield from 1:2 to 1:3 or lower. Based on this research and demonstration /participation scheme, all feed supplements enhanced productivity, however the establishment of cassava hay on fartns deserved more attention and warrants a wider developmental expansion among dairy farmers since it contained high rumen by-pass protein (tannin-protein complex) and could be easily produced and be sustainable on farms.

구간검지체계의 통행시간정보를 이용한 신호제어 알고리즘 개발 (Development of The Signal Control Algorithm Using Travel Time Informations of Sectional Detection Systems)

  • 본 연구에서는 구간통행시간과 같은 링크의 속성정보를 수집 가능한 검지체계를 구간검지체계로 정의하여 이러한 검지체계를 기반으로 실시간 신호제어 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 신호제어를 위한 변수는 공간적 개념을 가지는 대기행렬길이를 제안하였다. 개별차량에 대해 검지기 통과 시 차량의 ID와 통과시각이 수집 가능한 DSRC와 같은 기술을 이용하여 링크 통행시간을 수집하며, 한 주기 동안 수집된 개별차량 통행시간은 지체를 경험한 차량과 그렇지 않은 차량으로 구분된다. 이를 이용하여 대기행렬 해소시간을 산출가능하며, 결정적 지체모형을 기반으로 주기별 최대대기행렬을 산출하였다. 실시간 신호제어의 목표는 접근로별 대기행렬의 균형화로서 각 접근로의 대기행렬이 사전에 정의된 임계대기행렬을 초과하지 않는 범위에서의 균등화될 수 있도록 대기행렬의 비율에 따라 신호시간을 배분하는 방법을 이용하였다.

바리스터와 LC필터를 조합한 교류 전원용 서지보호장치 (Surge Protective Device Combined with Varistor and LC Filter on AC Power Circuits)

  • I본 논문은 교류 전원용 바리스터와 LC필터를 조합한 서지 보호장치에 대해서 기술하였다. 지금까지 교류 전류용 서지 보호장치로써 바리스터만이 주로 사용되어 왔으나, 이것은 급상승하고 높은 잔류전압 때문에 보호되어야 할 장비에 해로운 결과를 초래하는 경우도 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 교류 전원용 서지 보호장치의 차단 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 바리스터와 LC필터로 구성된 조합형 서지 보호장치를 설계.제작하였다. 그리고 서지 보호장치의 동작특성과 차단 성능의 분석에 대한 실험을 1.2/50[$\mu\textrm{s}$] 임펄스 발생기를 적용하여 수행하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서 제시한 조합형 서지보호장치는 서지 전압을 더욱 낮게 제한할 수 있고, dV/dt의 값을 매우 낮은 값으로 감소시키며, LC필터에 의한 출력단의 고주파 전압을 효과적으로 감쇠시킬수 있기 때문에 전자시스템의 손상과 전도를 더욱 더 효과적으로 방지할 수 있다.

WDM 및 OADM으로 구성된 개선된 특성의 1310nm, 1550nm 대역 4파장 광중계기 (A 4-Wavelength Optical Transceiver with Improved Characteristics using WDMs and OADMS)

  • TFF(Thin Film Fille.) 방식의 2$\times$2 OADM을 이용하여 1510nm 파장과 1530nm 파장의 광원을 첨가하여 add/drop시킨 4 파장 광 모듈을 구성하였고 이 광모듈을 채택하여 PCS(personal communication system) 및 셀룰러 (cellular) 이동 통신뿐만 아니라 차세대 이동 통신 방식은 IMT-2000 서비스와 다중 링크 시켜 광선로를 재활용하는 방식의 4 파장 광 트랜시버를 구현하였다. OADM을 이용한 4파장 optical signal stream을 구성하여 1510 nm, 1530 nm, 1550 nm, 1570 nm 파장에서 각각 -1.6 dBm, -1.7 dBm, -5.6 dBm, -5.8dBm의 광출력을 얻었다. 제작된 광 트랜시버의 LD 모듈에 12 V의 바이어스 전압을 사용하여 약 1.5dBm의 광 출력 특성을 얻었으며, PD 모듈의 증폭단에는 two-stage 저 잡음 증폭기를 제작하여 1.66dB의 잡음지수와 25.7 dB의 이득을 얻었다. 또한 S$_{11}$과 S$_{22}$ 그리고 입ㆍ출력 정재파비는 각각 -5.47dB, -20 dB 그리고 3.27 : 1, 1.22 : 1의 결과 값을 얻었다.다.
