성인구치의 교모형태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Attrition Pattern of Posterior Teeth in Adult)

  • The author had collected the full mouth stone model of 277 persons from 20 ages to 60 ages and studied the attrition pattern of posterior teeth paying attention to the teeth cusps on the stone model. All of the attrition patterns were classified by age, sex and analyzed. The results are followings : 1. Attrition patterns of posterior teeth were divided into 64 forms.(expept 3rd molar) 2. There was no significant difference between right & left. 3. Generally early attrition pattern of younger age and late attriction pattern of older age were more prominent in men being compared with sexual difference. 4. Being compared with age group, early attrition pattern showed decreasing tendency and late attrition pattern showed increasing tendency by aging.

한국인 평균소비자 및 극단소비자에 대한 소르빈산의 일일 추정섭취량 평가 (Assessment of Estimated Daily Intakes of Sorbates for Average and High Consumers in Korea)

  • 국내에서 널리 사용되고 있는 소르빈산 및 그 염류의 연령-성별에 따른 평균 소비자 및 극단 소비자의 섭취실태를 평가하고자 “1998년도 국민건강·영양조사”의 만 3세이상의 일인당 일일 식품 섭취량과 소르빈산의 실제 농도분석 치를 이용하여 일일 추정 섭취량을 구하였다. 조사된 소르빈산 및 그 염류의 일일 평균 추정 섭취량은 소르빈산으로서 0.09-5.1 mg/kg bw/day, 극단추정 섭취량은 3.42-14.65mg1kg bw/da)이었으며 일일섭취허용량(ADI)에 대한 비율은 평균 소비자의 경우 0.4-2.1%,극단 섭취자의 경우 13.7-58.6%로 나타났다. 소르빈산 섭취에 기여하는 식품은 식육가공품, 절임류, 어육가공품으로 나타났고, 소르빈산의 추정 섭취량은 극단 및 평균 소비자에 대해 연령에 반비례하는 경향이었으나 성별에 의한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 그러므로 국내 소르빈산 섭취량은 극단 소비자를 포함한 3세 이상의 모든 인구아군에서 ADI보다 낮은 것으로 나타났다.

성별에 따른 유아기, 학동기 및 청소년기의 식품 기호도에 관한 연구 - 서울.경기(인천)지역을 중심으로 - (A Study on Infant, Schoolchild, and Adolescent Groups' Food Preference according to Sex - Seoul and Gyoung-gi(Incheon) Area -)

  • In this research, we examined a total of 681 children(kindergarten, schoolchild, and adolescents) who live in Seoul and Gyoung-gi in 2007. The parents of the respondents seemed to have a normal average body mass index, and the majority of the parents had bachelor's degrees. Across all age groups, most of the fathers were office workers and the mothers were mostly house wives. The most preferred food was meats, and the least preferred food was vegetables. Results showed that all age groups have a snack once or twice a day, except boys from the schoolchild group. All age groups liked ice cream, fruits, and juices in their snacks. For eating-out, boys from the kindergarten group mostly preferred Chinese food, girls from the infant group mostly preferred Korean food. In addition, boys and girls of the schoolchild and adolescent groups mostly preferred Korean food. For cooking methods, the result of preference showed that boys from the kindergarten group preferred roasted meats, and girls from the kindergarten group preferred roasted meats, steamed rib and fish. Both boys and girls in the schoolchild group preferred roast meats, and boys from the adolescent group preferred stir-fry and girls from adolescent group preferred pot stew.

EFFECT OF FEEDING CLOMIPHENE CITRATE ON CARCASS COMPOSITION OF BROILER

  • Four seasonal trials were conducted to study the effect of feeding clomiphene citrate on carcass composition of broilers. It was fed at 5, 10, 15 mg levels per kg feed for a period of two weeks, 3-4 weeks ($S_1$), 4-5 weeks ($S_2$) and 5-6 weeks ($S_3$) of age. Total carcasses were analysed for moisture, ether extract and protein. Clomiphene citrate significantly decreased the moisture with concomitant increase in ether extract content of the carcasses at all the ages and seasons. Carcass protein was significantly decreased at all the ages and seasons. The responses in the different level of clomiphene citrate is dose dependent. The carcass moisture decreased with age while protein and ether extract contents increased in all seasons. The females had more ether extract and less moisture contents than male. The carcass ether extract was higher in summer and rainy seasons followed by spring and winter seasons, and the differences were significant. A concomitant significant decrease of carcass moisture was observed. The effect of seasons on carcass protein varied at different ages but there appeared to be a trend towards decreasing carcass protein in summer and rainy seasons than winter and spring seasons.

Low Serum Albumin Level, Male Sex, and Total Gastrectomy Are Risk Factors of Severe Postoperative Complications in Elderly Gastric Cancer Patients

  • Purpose: It is well known that old age is a risk factor for postoperative complications. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the risk factors for poor postoperative surgical outcomes in elderly gastric cancer patients. Materials and Methods: Between January 2006 and December 2015, 247 elderly gastric cancer patients who underwent curative gastrectomy were reviewed. In this study, an elderly patient was defined as a patient aged ${\geq}65$ years. All possible variables were used to explore the risk factors for poor early surgical outcomes in elderly gastric cancer patients. Results: Based on multivariate analyses of preoperative risk factors, preoperative low serum albumin level (<3.5 g/dl) and male sex showed statistical significance in predicting severe postoperative complications. Additionally, in an analysis of surgery-related risk factors, total gastrectomy was a risk factor for severe postoperative complications. Conclusions: Our study findings suggest that low serum albumin level, male sex, and total gastrectomy could be risk factors of severe postoperative complications in elderly gastric cancer patients. Therefore, surgeons should work carefully in cases of elderly gastric cancer patients with low preoperative serum albumin level and male sex. We believe that efforts should be made to avoid total gastrectomy in elderly gastric cancer patients.

성매매 종사자들의 성병감염예방을 위한 콘돔사용 예측요인 (Factors Predicting Condom Use for the Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases among Sex Workers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors to predict of condom use for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among sex workers in a Korean community. The theoretical ground of this study was the Interaction Model of Client Health Behavior. Method: A descriptive, cross sectional and retrospective research design was employed in this study. A total of 100 sex workers who take a clinical check-up on STDs regularly at W Public Health Center were recruited by convenient sampling, and with consent to participate in this study. All of the measures were piloted, and the reliability of each scale ranged from 0.7 to 0.9. Data were analyzed using discriminating function analysis with SPSS-PC. Results: Five independent measures (partner preference for using condoms, subjects desire to prevent STD, age, type of relationship and sexual self-determination) contributed significantly to the best discriminating function. The discriminating function analysis resulted in correct classification of 83.1% of the respondents into their corresponding groups. Conclusion: Condoms are a main means of STDs prevention. Risk-reduction interventions that enhance communication skills and intrinsic motivation will be effective in increasing condom use to prevent STDs among sex workers.

재발성 아프타성 궤양과 구강점막 각화도의 관계에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship between Recurrent Aphthous Ulcer and Oral Mucosal Keratinization)

  • To investigate the relationship between recurrent aphthous ulcer and oral mucosal keratinization, exfoliative cytology in buccal mucosa, lip mucosa, tongue mucosa were performed on 25 recurrent aphthous ulcer patients and 25 controls whose age ranged from 10 to 65. Keratinization cell ratio was then measured. The results were as follows : 1. Yellow cell ratio in the control group was more than that in the patient group in buccal mucosa, lip mucosa, tongue mucosa. Red cell ratio in the control group was more than that in the patient group in lip mucosa. Blue cell ratio in the patient group was more than that in control group in all regions( p(0.01) 2. In the comparison by sex, the patient group showed no significant difference in all site but, the control group showed different results according to the site; males were more than females in yellow cell, but less than females in red cell Females were more than males in yellow cell, but less than males in red cell. 3. In the comparison by age, patient group showed no significant difference in all site, but the control group showed significantly high yellow cell ratio in buccal and tongue mucosa over the age of 50. In conclusion, there was close relationship between recurrent aphthous ulcer and decreased oral mucosal keratinization. In other words, reduced oral mucosal keratinization must be recommended for prevention of recurrent aphthous ulcer.

국민건강보험공단 표본코호트DB를 이용한 한국 갑상선암 발생률의 추이 변화: 10년간 분석(2004-2013) (The Changes in the Trend of Thyroid Cancer incidence for Korean Population: Consecutive 10 Years Analysis (2004-2013))

  • Background/Objectives: To analyze changes in the incidence of thyroid cancer for Korean population using big data from the National Health Insurance Service. Materials & Methods: Sample cohort database between January 2004 and December 2013 with 1,000,000 cases for each year was enrolled in this study. Thyroid cancer incidence was analyzed by sex, age and by region. Public health insurance payment was used to reflect socioeconomic status. Results: The incidence of thyroid cancer in Korea increased for 10 years annually. There are 3 times increasing in the incidence rate of thyroid cancer from 2004, 0.03% to 2013, 0.09%. The sex ratio in the incidence rate of thyroid cancer was male : female = 1:7.2 in 2004 and male : female = 1:3.6 in 2013 that suggest decreased gap between the sex ratio. Between 2004 and 2010, the incidence rates of those in their 40s were found to be the highest, whereas the incidence rates for those in their 50s were found to be highest from 2011 and thereafter. Every year the high socioeconomic status group showed a higher incidence of thyroid cancer than low socioeconomic status group. Some specific region showed continuous high incidence of thyroid cancer, not all city and state. Conclusion: The incidence rate of thyroid cancer for 10 years had special feature by sex, age, socioeconomic status and especially by region. This results will be a barometer for further epidemiologic study about the incidence of thyroid cancer for Korean population

경남지역을 중심으로 한 한국인의 식품 기호도에 관한 조사연구 (Survey on Food Preference in Gyeongnam Area)

  • This research was carried to investigate the food preference of students, from elementary school, middle school, high school, university and industrial workers on Jinju, Sacheon and Jinyang by age and sex. The results were obtained as follows. In case of rice as the stationary food, plain white boiled rice showed the highest preference among all the groups. Most of groups liked most of one-dish meals such as kimbab, fried rice with kimchi, dumplings and bibimbab, especially the elementary school students and middle school students. On the other hand, high percentage of industrial workers disliked the western food such as pizza, hamburger and sphagetti. Most of subjects liked jajangmun, nangmun and bibimgooksu as noodles. As the side dishes generally they prefer the soup to stew. Male prefer the soup with beef and female prefer soup with vegetables. Stew with kimchi and stew with soybean paste showed high preference among most of groups. Most of broil food showed high preference, and students prefer meat to fish as broil cooking materials especially younger students. As a general they liked soybean sprout, spinach and wild sesame leaf as namul cooking method and they liked korean cabbage kimchi, chonggak kimchi, kackdoogi and dongchimi as kimchi. As a dessert subjects liked most of fruits and they liked yoghurt, fruit juice, milk, sikhae and soda as drinks generally. On the other hand snacks such as cooky, candy, cake, corn, rice cake, sweet potato have the lowest percentage preferance as a dessert, but students from elementary schools showed the highest preferance to sweet such as cooky, cake and candy than any other group. These food preferance results showed some nutritional problems especially young age students. They should eat more green-yellow vegetables, liver food and dried small sardine and they should reduce snacks such as candy and cooky and soda drinks. Therefore it is necessary to conduct nutrition education by parents, teachers and dietician together to improve their food habits and their health.

분노 및 슬픔 상황에서 아동의 정서조절 동기와 정서조절 전략 (Children's Motives and Strategies for Emotional Regulation in Angry and sad Situations)

  • This study investigated the influence of audience type (mother or close friend) age, and gender on children's goals and strategies for emotional regulation in angry and in sad situations. Hypothetical vignette methodology was used with 314 children in grades 5 and 7. In angry situations, all boys and all 5th grade children regulated anger more with instrumental motives while 7th grade girls showed more prosocial motives. Children showed more prosocial and rule oriented motives with peers and relational motives with mothers. In angry situations, children used aggression regulation strategies more toward peers and activity regulation strategies more toward mothers. Children's age and sex explained sadness regulation motives better than audience type with peers, but children used more activity regulation strategies with mothers in sad situations. When sad, fifth graders used more verbal and facial expression strategies than 7th graders while boys used more activity regulation strategies than girls.
